Third Eye Blind, Sugar Ray, and Smash Mouth all broke through in 1997-98, and had many huge hits in the late 90's and early part of this decade. However, when they all returned in 2003, they all flopped, with songs that peaked in the 30's on pop. Which failed comeback do you prefer? (choices above)
I went with Third Eye Blind here.

Blinded is actually a good song as opposed to the other two. Mr. Bartender isn't horrible but it and You Are My Number 1 were horrible choices as lead off singles from surprisingly good albums.

I actually really love "Blinded." I just listened to it yesterday and still had to wonder why it didn't get more radio support, namely from Hot AC. Great song.

I really wasn't in to any of these songs but I think "You're Are My Number One" was the best of the worst

I voted for "Blinded" only because I dont like "Mr. Bartender" and "You Are My #1" was ABSOLUTELY hideous

"Blinded" no contest.
"Mr. Bartender (It's So Easy)" is just disgusting awful. The song is a discombobulated mess of their old-school hip-hop rock mixed with bridge raps and mindless lyrics, and their video makes it even worse, with those scantily-clad ice-ceam licking women and talentless rappers at the car wash. One of the worst of 2003...period.
Meanwhile, "You Are My Number One" is not much better. It doesn't exactly make me cringe like Mr. Bartender but it is very bland just like their last album. I haven't purchased "Get The Picture" yet and heard it actually got favorable reviews but it's going to take a single I like to make me get that album.
But "Blinded" just towers above the other two. Though the loss of Kevin their famed guitarist has affected them musically a bit, Stephan Jenkins remains a lyrical standout. The way he opens the song "Just an old friend coming over..." and painting the picture like an artist, to unique lines like "Icarus is not a T-shirt nor a swan song..." Stephan remains a songwriting great of this generation. And "Blinded" is among the great tracks off of "Out of the Vein" along with "Palm Reader" and "Crystal Baller".
Third Eye Blind stands high above these three bands.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"Blinded". It came close to the top 10 on my chart. "Mr. Bartender" got to #33 and "You Are My Number One" didn't come close.
