This is such a hard one. But I think EnVogue is the best female group of all time because all 4 of the ladies can actually SING well and there was not a lead singer. I have never understood the purpose of being in a group that has a lead singer.......but anyway TLC comes in a CLOSE 2nd.

Sugababes would be my top choice, but TLC is a very close second so I've gone for them.

Supremes by far. En Vogue 2nd. TLC and Destiny's Child battling it out for third.

The Supremes certainly had the best material, but I'll give it to En Vogue for their vocals (I'da put Wilson Phillips up there too, that's just me though). :)

I think in terms of group dynamic and talent of all the members, En Vogue deserves to win, but it's just about a tie with TLC. Actually, I'll rank them with these factors:
group dynamic - talent - material - staying power
En Vogue: 8 - 10 - 9 - 6 (total = 33) *lose points for only having two albums before breaking up, but third album still had some power; very award-winning, dominated their time
Destiny's Child: 6 - 6 - 7 - 7 (total = 26) *that's assuming the 4th album does happen; talent's no where near as high as some of the others, especially with three throw-away members in the rotating membership. first album was rather weak. have dominated the charts & won awards.
TLC: 10 - 8 - 8 - 7 (total = 33) *four albums, not their fault they had a death before the 4th. dominated charts, very respected, award winning.
Blaque: 3 - 6 - 3 - 3 (total = 15) *i mean they can't compare at this point
The Supremes: 4 - 8 - 10 - 10 (total = 32) *it didn't take long to become Diana Ross & The Supremes, to the point where it was barely a girl-group... still, an insane number of hits and weeks at #1, and spun-off a huge solo artist. killer material. i know they werent actually together much longer than some of these other acts, but they have the benefit of still being played all the time; everyone knows all of their hits.
702: 3 - 6 - 5 - 3 (total = 17) *seem to be rather defunct, although they have some talent. most ppl can't name one of the, they're interchangeable even if Meelah does most of the lead. material is inconsistent.
Edens Crush: not worth rating
Spice Girls: 10 - 2 - 10 - 4 (total = 26) *they did dominate for a while, incredibly dynamics, everyone and their mom can name each member; didn't show talent (although some of them have since), a real flash-in-the-pan. killer material tho, even tho its lots of cheez.
(((you left out two major ones)))
SWV: 4 - 7 - 8 - 6 (total = 25) *didn't cross over at much but dominated R&B; strong material, classy ladies, never had any of the drama b.s.
XScape: 4 - 8 - 7 - 6 (total = 25) *the equal of SWV
I think those are the only ones worth ratings, I don't think any of the others had more than one major crossover-hit (although some come to mind anyway, Changing Faces, Brownstone, Jade, [there were so many more in the mid 90s than there are now])
So it's a TLC-En Vogue tie, with The Supremes losing because of Diana Ross's spotlight. If Destiny's Child next album spawns more big hits, and they share the spotlight, well then they'll move up. A succesful En Vogue reunion would easily put them on top.

Tough choice between Spice Girls and TLC but I give the edge to Spice Girls because TLC's last 2 albums were slightly disappointing and Spice Girls had more killer songs.

Eden's Crush, because two of the members were in "Chasing Papi," the best comedy of all-time.

I don't see how the Supremes can possibly be in this list, when they're obviously different from all the others and are basically in a different category altogether. In my opinion, they're the best, but you can't compare '60s music to '90s, even with R&B.
Of the other choices, I'll pick TLC.

Well, maybe if there were other artists from their era to give them some company, such as Martha & the Vandellas, the Marvelettes, and the Shirelles, from the girl group era, who belong in a contest of the ALL-TIME Best Girl Group more than Eden's Crush, 702, or Blaque (or frankly even the Spice Girls, but they were big for one year), the Supremes wouldn't seem out of place. But yes, they far outshine the competition, even from their era. They are to the girl groups like the Beatles are to rock bands, and in fact the greatest competition the Beatles had for the top of the pop charts in the mid to late 60's.

IMHO....
1960s....supremes all the way
1990s....TLC
2000s+..Destiny's Child (providing they get back together). Beyonce has proven that she still has a huge audience, and I think they will have at least the next 2 very sucessful albums just based off of her past year alone.

TLC
SWV deserve to be mentioned far more than Blaque, 702, or Eden's Crush.

Should've been an opinion topic with only write-ins, I agree that when you have the Bangles, Go-Go's, Shirelles etc left off, that the poll just can't reflect the best girl-groups of all time.

Eden's Crush, because two of the members were in "Chasing Papi," the best comedy of all-time. *insert vomiting smilie* I voted for DC3 here since I love almost all of their music.

Welll.... 1- En Vogue. I only wish they had a PERFECT album. I love them to death, I think all of their singles have been fantastic. Too bad they didn't go with a different lead single from "Masterpiece Theater", coulda done well. Anyway, they get my vote if nothing else based on "Don't Let Go (Love)", "Runaway Love", and "givin him something he can feel".
2- Brownstone. Too bad they aren't still around.
3- TLC. Great stuff most of the time.
4- 702. I really like the 702 album, I think it's pretty strong.
5- DC. can't help but like them
