First off, does anyone else love this Sheryl song as much as I do? It's so beautiful. Defintely my favorite Sheryl ballad after Home.
There is an acoustic version on piano that is floating around. It was played during the KPAX credits. I've been looking for an mp3 of it for a while, but have had no luck.
Everytime she performs this song, she puts her whole heart into it. It's amazing.

C'Mon, C'Mon is definitely my favorite Sheryl album. I really thought the singles, as good as they were, were among the not-so-good songs on the album. "Safe And Sound," "It's So Easy," and "Over You" were some of my favorites. "It's Only Love" was a great song that she originally wrote for Stevie Nicks on her Trouble In Shangri-La album. I like Stevie's version better but Sheryl really helped make that album as good as it was, my favorite Stevie album. Like Trouble In Shangri-La, C'Mon, C'Mon was a high point in an artist's career that was not shown by the single choices.

Love it. Her performance of this at the VMA Awards was incredible.

Actually, I thought this song sounded out of place. Most of the rest of the songs on C'Mon seemed "lazy." I think Sheryl was simply trying to appeal to the mainstream marked. And I have nothing against her, or any other artist doing it. Safe and Sound was the only song that sounded like it could have come from The Globe Sessions, or from Sheryl's past style.

"Safe And Sound" reminded me a little of "The Difficult Kind".

I love it, along with the entire album. Sheryl is always consistent.
I loved You're An Original as well.

I thought the song was OK; not terribly fantastic.
Of course my favorite album has to be her self-titled effort, followed by the debut and my favorite single is "Strong Enough". My favorite cover is "The First Cut..." and my favorite album track is "I Shall Believe". It has conviction. no wait - "Hard To Make A Stand".

I love this song. I was really surprised that this wasn't a single, it should've been. This is one of my favorite Sheryl album tracks, though I have many (I think my favorite would be "Diamond Road," also from C'mon C'mon). I think "Safe and Sound" wouldn't sound out of place on The Globe Sessions... in fact, I think overall it's sound goes along even better with that album, though it fits in just fine on C'mon C'mon as well.

I agree, I love this song too. C'mon, C'mon is also my favorite Sheryl album as well. I don't necessarily think that the single choices were too bad - "Soak Up The Sun" HAD to be the lead single, and I believe that if it was released now it would've made the top 5. I really don't think that "Steve McQueen" should have been released second (or even at all). It's good, but nowhere near some of the other tracks ("It's So Easy", "Diamond Road", "Abilene" - though that one shouldn't have been a single either). The title track was a great choice for a single, but by that time interest in the album had waned - plus "Picture" was blowing up as well.

Oh man, I saw this topic as the latest post (didn't know what forum it was in) and I thought she was releasing this as a single.
But yeah, I agree with most of the people who've responded here. This is really good.

You guys can't be serious about "Over You"! OMG! That's Sheryl's worst song ever! It's so ridiculous!!!
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!
And what about C'mon C'mon being Sheryl's best album! I'm SHOCKED!!! It's EASILY her worst album, it's truly horrendous, OMG, I can't stop saying OMG!
Ok, The Globe Sessions is one of the best album ever. Crash and Burn is one of the best songs ever. That's the Sheryl I'm talking about.
Fabio
PS: Safe and Sound is ok, though.
