This VH1 article states the possibility of a fifth Blink-182 single. I'd love it if they released this. It's my favorite song on the album.

It's probably my favorite on the album. They should have just released this and forgot about "Always" and probably even "Down".

Ahhh, I just came to this forum to start the same topic, lol
Anyway, I think this would be a hit regardless of how well the singles did before it. It's everyone's favorite song on the album and no one ever expected a release for it... so I think it would go straight to Alternative Top 10.
However, the article made it clear that they won't have a fifth single unless "Always" is a hit. It won't be. End of story. :(

Wow, I was all set to be content with this as a superior album cut that defines the album (though it did make my personal chart when KNDD was playing it). It would still be cool if they released it, but I really don't care either way. If I want to hear it, I've always got the album, and it's not like I'd mind sitting through the first 11 tracks anyway.
I just think some people get all bent out of shape when they react to single choices. I mean, yeah, "Always" and "Down" weren't the best songs left on the album, but with the exception of "The Fallen Interlude", and maybe "I'm Lost Without You", I was content with whatever they released. Curiously though, after playing the hell out of the first two singles, KNDD didn't even bother with "Down" or "Always". I realize they're not focused on playing the "big hit singles" off of albums, but it doesn't mean they have to ignore them either. >:(
Has anyone seen the video for "Always"? It's really cool with the tri-screen visuals. It's even given me inspiration for a cool photograph which would probably just be a rip-off of the video, but it'd be cool nonetheless.

It's a great song, perhaps the best one on the album, but I think it should remain as a non-single album track.

This is my favorite song on the album and I've been hoping for its release since I first heard the album. But, it should've been released third and it may be too late now.

I love this song, but I find myself agreeing that it should stay a non-album track, although it's been my favorite from first listen of the album. The release of The Cure's stuff is a major reason for this; 311's "Love Song" arguably took interest away from "End of the World". But at least the superior follow-up did chart.
"Easy Target" should've been the third single, IMO. Perhaps they could've stopped after 3 deep, as they did with the previous albums. To me this and the first two singles were guaranteed hits, the rest of it not as much. But while it's not one of my favorites, "Always" would have made a good single to a more up-tempo track than "Down".

It is my favorite song on the album too. Probably cuz I really don't like Tom Delong's voice. I like the songs, but not his voice. I remember my first listen to the CD and hearing Robert Smith's vocal and thinking "who's singing this song?" And "why doesn't he sing more of them". Then I read the liner notes. Ahhhhh! It wasn't even a band member singing. Too bad.

Any chance this'll get released now as a 'farewell' single for the guys? I like "Always" a lot, but I'd hate to see them go out with a song that barely made the top 40 at Alternative and did nothing anywhere else.

A hiatus doesn't warrant a send-off single and releasing this now would just be throwing money away.
