Ewww, Lil' Pain. Not usually a Fall Out Boy fan, but I like 'I Don't Care' and the new song. :)

Fall Out Boy Album Release Date In DoubtOctober 13, 2008 , 1:00 PM ET Jonathan Cohen, N.Y. The Nov. 4 release date for Fall Out Boy's "Folie a Deux" is in doubt, according to a post on the band's Web site, which cited concerns over the planned election day tie-in. "Six months ago we thought it would be a fun idea to release our album on election day but this is not the election to be cute," the band says. "We felt as though rather than making a commentary we were only riding the wave of the election. This seemed less and less like what we intended to do and more of a gimmick." "It is now in the hands of our label to give us a new release date," according to the band, adding "it is our intent to get our record out this year and as soon as possible -- as we made sure to have it done in time for its original release." An Island spokesperson was unavailable for comment at deadline. If the album winds up being delayed, Fall Out Boy promises "a surprise or two" (one of which has been identified as an Elvis Costello guest appearance) as well as "an extensive preorder campaign that will take into account the current state of our economy" and both new songs and a podcast series via iTunes. The first single from the album, "I Don't Care," has sold 167,000 downloads in four weeks of U.S. release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. As another olive branch to expectant fans, Fall Out Boy will play "extremely small club shows" in the U.S. in November, with tickets only being available on the day of. Details have yet to be announced. "Folie a Deux" is the follow-up to 2007's "Infinity on High," which has sold 1.3 million copies. Update: Scheduled for release December 16th.

I like "America's Suitehearts" way more than "I Don't Care". Very catchy.

I wonder if this will still come out December 16th? I am thinking most likely yes, but for some reason, I am still getting the feeling that it will be pushed back.

w.a.m.s. is one of my favorites so far. I just wish the outro would've been extended longer.

I have only heard I Don't Care once -- at trivia night and I have only heard the ITUNES clip of America's Suitehearts and WOW @ Stump's voice from that small clip. I thought he was scaling back the R&B riffs from IOH? That said, I am glad this got bumped because I just saw the album cover for the first time and had an epic WTF moment...it looks like plushie porn!

Folie À Deux review: Rating: (3.75 stars out of 5) I was anxious to hear this album. After two full listens, I can say it's a good and consistent album! As expected they didn't return to the pop punk sound of "Take This To Your Grave", instead FOB created a straight pop rock record, with huge guitar riffs and dropped a bit the R&B influenced sound that "Infinity On High" had. Plus, once more Patrick Stump shows the great vocalist he is. I think they will struggle to go platinum with this album. There isn't any song that screams hit single and in that aspect IOH was rich. The addictive "America's Suitehearts" and "What A Catch, Donnie" seem to be the only tracks that could get some CHR/TOP 40 love. For alternative/rock radio, I think "The (Shipped) Gold Standard" or "West Coast Smoker" could give them a comeback single at that format. The lack of success of "I Don't Care" (either on alternative or pop radio) will probably give them lower first week sales on US compared to those of 260,000 for IOH. They will benefit from the holiday period though, so I'm expecting first week sales between 180,000 and 230,000. This is the record that FOB should had created to follow "From Under The Cork Tree" (their best-selling album in US and worldwide and also my fvorite FOB record) and it is most likely to appeal to those who liked that effort a lot, mainly because this is the FOB album to present the most similar sound to that one. Overall I think Folie À Deux is not only a step up from IOH but also a move in the right direction. Track listing:#/Title/Length/Rating (1 to 5 grades)1. "Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes" 4:18 - 3.3 2. "I Don't Care" 3:38 - 3.9 3. "She's My Winona" 3:52 - 2.9 4. "America's Suitehearts" 3:34 - 4.4 *5. "Headfirst Slide into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet" 3:55 3.8 6. "The (Shipped) Gold Standard" 3:19 - 4.7 *7. "(Coffee's For Closers)" 4:35 - 3.5 8. "What a Catch, Donnie" 4:57 - 3.8 9. "27" 3:12 - 2.8 10. "Tiffany Blews" 3:44 - 4.5 *11. "w.a.m.s." 4:38 - 3.9 12. "20 Dollar Nose Bleed" 4:17 - 3.4 13. "West Coast Smoker" 2:46 - 4.6 ** (Standout tracks)Ideal singles run:1. America's Suitehearts 2. The (Shipped) Gold Standard 3. What A Catch, Donnie 4. I Don't Care 5. West Coast Smoker

So, what's the latest with this album? Is "America's sweethearts" going to be the final single from this era? Is it being actively promoted at CHR yet?

This era won't be very big in pop. I have the album, and while I love it, it is not nearly as catchy as their last 2 efforts. It's more alt, less pop.
Maybe if they release "She's My Winona" it would be a big hit. I think "What A Catch, Donnie," is a great song, and I want it released as well, so I guess we'll see.
