Where Did The Party Go is really great too. Maybe The Phoenix then Where Did The Party Go (or the other way) then The Mighty Fall as singles :)
Not really into Young Volcanoes

Young Volcanoes needs to be the next single. It's that Hey, Soul Sister vibe and the overall mellow feel that separates it from the pack and makes it pop radio friendly.

So, I'm guessing that Young Volcanoes is the next single then? I hope so. Great sales btw. Happy for these guys. I have grown to really like them over the course of their last few albums. It started with IOH. That album is still their best (from what I have heard, anyway).

Really liking the album, hoping they beat Cudi for the #1 spot.

I'm really surprised at how well this album is being received, especially among rock music fans and especially considering their prior reputation. It's almost getting to the point where the people who aren't acknowledging them are stubbornly stuck in their own mindset.

Per HITS, they edged out Kid Cudi for the #1 spot by 9k.

So I spontaneously purchased this album the day it came out, never bought a FOB album before, but have liked many of their singles.
And I'm SO glad I got this album. It's perfect punk-pop-rock, whatever it is. "Phoenix" is perfection and a great way to start the album.
I'll definitely look into their other albums now.

I bought this album today and I really love it, but why does Courtney Love sound like a man? Why is she even on here? Ick. Could do without that song.
ETA: I think "Just One Yesterday" is my favorite track. It NEEDS to be a single. Foxes sounds absolutely stunning on it.

"Alone Together" video:
It looks like they're going to make a video for every song on the album.

It looks like they're going to make a video for every song on the album. Yep. I noticed after the end of each video's title it says "Part X of 12." There's 12 tracks on the album. I noticed it after the "Young Volcanoes" video was released and it followed the story line of "My Songs" and "The Phoenix," and of course said "Part 3 of 12." It's a very cool idea, actually. At the end of the era, fans can put all the videos together and basically have Save Rock and Roll: The Musical with the album acting as a soundtrack.

They released an EP this week called "PAX AM Days," recorded over two days this past July. It's currently available digitally as a standalone EP, but will also be apart of the forthcoming "Save Rock and Roll" re-release. It's expected to debut with 12-15k. ![](http://i.imgur.com/hUOgRhJ.jpg) 1. We Were Doomed From The Start (The King Is Dead) 2. Art of Keeping Up Disappearances 3. Hot To the Touch, Cold On the Inside 4. Love, Sex, Death 5. Eternal Summer 6. Demigods 7. American Made "Just One Yesterday" video:

they are not nearly as buzz worthy as they were in the mid 2000s but nice to see they are still getting some success.

What is the label doing with this album? So many smashes left on it.

each song sounds like it would smash and be a pop radio crossover hit. not sure why its subsequent singles after My Songs did so poorly

It's one of the best albums of the year imo and I'm pressed at how they handle it so far.

American Beauty/American Psycho is the upcoming sixth studio album from Fall Out Boy, which will be released WW on January 20 via Island/DCD2 Records. The pre-order digital and physical packages go on sale on December 15, while the title track will be released a week before. This is what they posted about the album: "the moment where a shadow lets you know where the sun was streaming in. the odd place where light and dark meet. there is a threshold. we all can feel it- it is something palpable… the idea that no matter how much an animal is domesticated- there is still something wild in it. declawed but we take/make the best monsters. we semi-civilize them. we put bears in suits on tricycles. we keep wolves warm from the winter in hen houses. then we wonder why they maul the hearts of what we hold the most dear. but make no mistake you brought them into your house and thought they could become a pet. we have infiltrated you. now we are inside you like a disease. this is a modern love story- coming together and unravelling all at once..."

Snippet of the song "Favorite Record". It was featured in the end credits of The DUFF. Listen: hey-a-casual-affair.tumblr.com/post/106673732303/taken-from-the-end-credits-of-the-duff-do-youNow this is probably my Kristen Wiig inner-stan coming out, but I feel like "Twin Skeleton's (Hotel In NYC)" is eerily similar to the movie The Skeleton Twins (amazing movie with Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader). The title is similar and the setting is in New York. This will probably be totally false when it comes out though lmao.

Just listened. Not a fan at all. Most of the songs are just not interesting at all. Only tracks I liked were "The Kids Aren't Alright", "Novocaine", and "Twin Skeleton's (Hotel In NYC)" (not about The Skeleton Twins lol). Really disappointed since I did like Save Rock and Roll.

As someone who was a teenager during the rise and peak of the emo era, I never thought FOB would still be around 10 years later. I remember when they got big in '05 thinking they were generic compared to a lot of other bands of the era. I still think that today. Not a fan of Centuries, though I do occasionally enjoy some of their songs. For their last album I enjoyed "Alone Together" way more than whatever their lead single was. Saw them at a festival and they do put on an entertaining show. With this single breaking out and pre-orders remaining relatively high on iTunes I think they could have a moderately sizable opening week.
