Wow, October 4 is going to be a killer day for her! CityLine, MuchMusic and CMT Canada all in the same day! Good thing she took that Paris vacation :)

Gah, I've played that clip of Carrie's singing DYHWIH so many times today. The vocal control there is incredible. The sweet clarity of her tone conveys such a sense of genuine wonderment that fits absolutely perfectly with the lyrics.

I love love love the clip of carrie singing Do you hear what I hear! It is so hauntingly beautiful- I cannot wait till tuesday to hear the whole song!
guys- I noticed that Kellie pickler has her Santa Baby on itunes, holiday section, on sale already as a single. I couldn't find that for carrie. Do you think she plans to record it as a single too- or just keep it on that cd?

^I actually could see Carrie's Christmas song doing well on the AC chart when it gets closer to Christmas. I've read that AC plays mostly Christmas songs during the whole month of December. Since BHC is doing very well on AC right now (been hovering at the #6 and #7 spots for a while now), I could see AC stations start playing this and possibly do really well. In fact, I'm almost positive I remember reading on an American Idol article that Kimberley Locke's Christmas song she covered ended up going to #1 on the AC chart either last year or the year before during the month of December. Now, I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, but I could see Carrie's song doing very well on AC, that is, if it can get started on there.
This shouldn't and will most definitely not be a single for Country radio, though. It may possibly get some Country plays (especially on the week leading up to Christmas), and it may possibly get enough plays to make the Billboard Country Chart. Beyond that, no.

Ha! I got you to post here! :) I saw that you posted that on CF and was wondering if you would post it here with the Opry talk. On point, yeah, that factoid helped to quash the momentary thought of an Opry invitation for Carrie during the Bash. 2 posts in one page, css! (Gotta take my jollies where I can get them :) ) Well, since this got you so excited, I will post one more tidbit on this subject. Tonight, Josh Turner was invited to join the Grand Ole Opry.

I knew he'd be next. I was actually expecting him to get it before they asked Mel Tillis(didn't know he wasn't already a member). I know people wanted it to be Carrie but at this point Josh deserves it more. He may not have Carrie's success(the Opry is bigger than that just look at the big names who aren't members), but he has a great relationship with the Opry. He came before Carrie and they love him. If she can sustain her success and is willing to make the time commitment, I think she'll get her turn. Like Carrie, Josh had his own opry moment the first time he performed "Long Black Train" there. He got a standing ovation and was asked to sing it again. I think Carrie was still an anonymous college student when that happened.

From the clip it doesn't sound like the song has a "country" arrangement, certainly compared to some of the other clips on the CD, so I agree it might be fun to see if the label would release it to AC radio. Might be a complicated time for Carrie on the charts come November, I would guess they will send out a new single to country radio to drive CR sales through the holidays (probably a soft ballad for the winter), plus the "Ever After" song may possibly be sent to pop/hot ac if it's suitable for those formats. I would love to see her on the Rockefeller tree lighting again this year to sing DYHWIH live. I think that's part of the "AI winner promo package" (Taylor Hicks, like Carrie, did both Rock Center and Christmas in Washington) though so I dunno if they would have both Jordin and Carrie on.

That moment for Josh happened in December 2001, less than halfway through Carrie's freshman year.

That's the girl from A-Teens, all grown up! I'm ashamed I know...... IMO, she looks and sounds more like Jessica Simpson. The other girl from A-Teens also looks like Alanis Morrisette.

I am glad josh turner got into the opry because he deserves it- and he is a nice person too. I admit I was secretly hoping carrie would get in-- but- I rethought that, because of the backlash. It is too soon for carrie to get an invite- she would be hated even more by the bashers. In a few years- perhaps she will get her turn- especially since they picked all men recently (dierks, mel, josh). It is time for a new lady to get admitted. :)

Yeah, I'm glad for Josh too. I'm not surprised he was invited. He seems to have a lot of respect and is considered highly by the traditionalists. With Mel Tillis and Josh as the new Opry members, the 2 empty slots are filled now, right? Although I don't think they're that srtict with having a certain number, are they?
With regard to Carrie, I'm glad she and the Opry have such a good relationship too -- she makes times time for them and always feels honored when asked to perform and they, in turn, seem to appreciate that. I always get a kick out of seeing Carrie featured prominently in Opry stuff (brochure, website, etc. that you'd think she was a member already).

Think she's fantastic and v beautiful - would love to download some of her music videos but struggling to find a site that has them available. Any help greatly appreciated! :)) Here you go: www.vinmansmedia.com/Videos.htmlThose are HQ videos. There are also audio stuff on that site. Enjoy! :) If I may recommend some must-haves, make sure to download the 2006 ACM performance of "Jesus, Take the Wheel"; the Grammy videos; the Oprah footage; the Stripped videos; the fan club party performance of "Alone"; the CMT In the Moment special; and... let me think of some more. For music videos, please download from iTunes.
