Is she going to be on mj's new one? It'd be great to have another duet, "Scream" was brilliant and Janet gave an outstanding vocal performance on it. Plus, she was hawter than hawt in the video! She and Michael seemed to have a falling out after "Scream"- I know in one interview she was not happy about her vocals being pushed in the back for the record- and she did not go see his kid until two years after it was born- seems like something was going on- obviously they are back on track though. I still think Janet can revive her music career, I'd rather her concentrate on that than going steady into movies at the moment.

I have a technical question, since I never used iTunes so far: do the albums come in a remastered version? I'm asking this because there haven't been reissues on CD for Janet's back catalog, so I wonder if the quality is upgraded.

They said that on Janet-Xone... In any case....
How r u?
Its been more than too long since we've spoken? How is your life going? All is well with me. There's so much to update u on. Where do I start?
Well, I just finished filming the new Tyler Perry movie, "Why Did I Get Married?" It was one of the best experiences I've ever had on a film.
Its an ensemble cast that includes Richard T. Jones, Jill Scott, Malik Yoba, Tasha Smith, Michael Jai White, Sharon Leal and Tyler Perry - who wrote, produced and directed the movie. I play an educated author & psychologist who writes about love, marriage and relationships and counsels as well. Its a great departure 4 me from my other roles and I can't wait for u to see the movie when it opens later this year.
Have you seen my Vibe Vixen cover? I LOVE it! The story was great and I love the photos the fabulous Ruven Afanador shot. I'm also on the cover of famed photographer Michel Haddi's new magazine, Sly & Chic. We shot it in the Hollywood Hills a few months ago - real classic Hollywood style - a totally different look. The magazine should be on stands in the states in a couple of weeks - I hope u like it.
On the music side, I've been in crazy rehearsals preparing for my performance at the Atlantis - Phase III opening on May 11th. I'm performing a mini concert and planning to enjoy the Bahamas with the kids. Then I'm off to Europe to do an event in Cannes and London.
I hope you are preparing to have a great summer and I promise to keep in better touch.
Miss u! Luv, Janet

There is a rumor going around that the single for Rush Hour is called "Clap." It could possibly be the scrapped song from “20 YO” called “Clap your hands” than Janet talked about before the album dropped.
You can always tell when a new Janet project is coming out, all the rumors start flying!

Any info on a release date? I hope she works with a bunch of producers to give her variety, just like Mariah, Mary and Nelly do, instead of just sticking with one.

From Janet-xone:
Answers4Dancers: Janet tour 'supposed to' start in July Answers4Dancers.com's Danceblast newsletter is reporting today that Janet's concert tour "is supposed to launch in July."
The newsletter also says that Blake McGrath, who announced earlier this year that he will no longer be dancing with Janet on this project, has been replaced by Cassidy Noblett.
Nothing official about a tour has been announced.
I'd be surprised since we are 2 months from the start of July and nothing has been announced yet. If this is true, I would expect a tour announcement very shortly.

It's the same old story with Jermaine Dupri: He's in the studio trying to make even more hits — with everybody. He's producing an all-ballad album for Jagged Edge, then you have Usher, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson and one of his best friends, Nelly.
"Nelly's got a crazy collaboration he's trying to put together, which is him, Janet and Mariah Carey all on one song," JD said. "That's what he wants. If he could convince them to do it, it would be crazy. He wants Janet to rap a 16-bar verse, he wants Mariah to sing the hook and he's gonna do two verses. He has it all planned out. You ask him about it! This is what he wants; he's 100-percent deadlocked into it. And I think he's doing a record with Bruce Springsteen. You know he always has to do one of those! My two records [that J.D. has produced for Nelly so far], he's gonna have some people on them — I won't tell it yet. I don't want to jinx the record.
"Me and Nelly in the studio is barely work," he continued. "We can't even get to work, it's so much partying. No sleep, nonstop. It's a party in the studio. He's the only person I go in the studio with and we party all night. The way Nelly works is, he works 100 percent off a vibe and what's going on in the studio and how people in the studio are moving off his record. People come to the studio and might [not give a song a good response]. He'll be like, 'Scrap that beat!' We bring in a whole new set of people in. We put on a new beat and if they start moving, he gets excited and it'll be more drinks and the smoke gets thicker and it gets crazy."
J.D., of course, recently signed on to be president of Island Def Jam Records, and he says he wants to build it up as big as it was when Dru Hill and Kelly Price were big. He divulged that Janet Jackson is in negotiations with label head L.A. Reid to come over and join the likes of Mariah Carey, Lionel Richie, Babyface and the aforementioned Jagged Edge on the roster. He also has one MC under his wing, Hot Dollar, whose underground record "Two Steppin' " caught his ear.
"Me being a talent-finder and looking for artists, he happened to have crazy record in L.A. I got his demo, he had more songs. I was like, 'This ain't bad!' I've always been one to move with the new and young talent, so I was like, 'Let's come in with some fresh blood.' "

May 9 2007 6:00 AM EDT Jermaine Dupri Says Janet Will Switch Labels, Be On 'Rush Hour 3' LP Dupri, head of urban music at Island Def Jam, says his girlfriend is in talks to join the label. By Shaheem Reid, with reporting by Yasmine Richard Del.icio.us Digg Newsvine Send Print You Tell Us In February, Island Def Jam Chairman L.A. Reid brought Jermaine Dupri over to Island to be president of urban music, and now it looks as if JD's girlfriend, Janet Jackson, is not too far behind. The longtime Virgin Records artist has been in talks to switch label homes. "Definitely Janet will end up at Island," Dupri told MTV News recently. "That's without a doubt. L.A. always wanted to sign her regardless [of whether] I was there or not. I don't know where that deal is — I left that in the hands of L.A. and Janet's people — but more than likely, he'll get what he wants." Whether or not the deal is completed, Jackson will put out a song this summer. Dupri just finished a deal for his company to release the "Rush Hour 3" soundtrack (the first two soundtracks were released on Island during its old regime). "Janet will have one of the first singles off the album," he said. "Bow Wow will be on the soundtrack. A couple usual suspects should pop up on the soundtrack, but I want it to be something unique [to] incorporate the new [Island Def Jam] family I'm with. I'mma see what Luda's doing, what Jay is doing. I'mma see if I can get some records from people." Dupri's position at Island follows a less-than-eventful run as president of urban music at Virgin (see "Virgin Records Snapping Up Jermaine Dupri And So So Def"). He blames a lack of corporate support for his departure. "With me being the president, I bring back the urban side of Island so that Island and Def Jam can be two separate record companies," he explained. "Jay-Z's at Def Jam, I'm at Island. L.A. sits in the middle and makes sure we do what we supposed to do as well as pump us up with ideas. I'm a musician, and I'm 100 percent into making music. I'm behind the music, and I like being around people that's behind the music. Virgin Records is not behind the music. They weren't when I was there, and I still don't think they are behind the music. If you're gonna be in the music business, you should be around people who are about the music." (See Dupri talk about his new post and why he left his last job here.) A spokesperson for Virgin didn't respond to requests for comment by press time about Jackson's status with the label or Dupri's departure. Other than the "Rush Hour" soundtrack, Dupri already has a full plate of releases coming out of his company. He's producing an album of ballads for Jagged Edge and Mariah Carey is in the studio and is expected to put out an LP sometime this year, as is Dupri's new MC, Hot Dollar. www.mtv.com/news/articles/1559084/20070508/dupri_jermaine.jhtml

Im happy about the move as long as JD is limited on the album. L.A Reid will make sure the music is strong and the singles are promoted properly.

I'm glad she's moving to Island Def Jam. You know she won't get screwed. Janet better tour in 2008 though (no more false hope for this year!).

Will Mariah feel threatened? Well Mariah knows a comeback is possible for ANYONE because she was as low as it gets at one point in her career. So, i'm sure she has thought about it, being the diva that she is. But they will have albums out at 2 completely different times so it shouldnt be an issue.

LA will make sure Janet has hot material and the proper promotion team behind her. With her next album release, I wouldn't be surprised if she isn't everywhere for the promotion of the album since the promotion for 20 YO wasn't as heavy as it should have been.

I had really hoped that Janet would end up with Clive Davis. Janet is not an urban artist to me and should focus on more of a dance/pop/rnb sound. JD completely screwed up with 20 Copies Sold and did massive damage to Janet's career. If "Clap" is in fact "Clap Your Hands," then according to Janet, it is a dance song.
She could still revive her career, but JD needs to stay out of it.

THANK YOU! I'll never understand why some artists are hell bent on alienating their pop fanbase to be 'urban.'
