I have to kinda agree that there is not as much enthusisasm as the Stripped era for Christina Aguilera. She was younger. She wasn't married. She was making more of a statement, and she was having more fun with her CD. It was her second era, so everyone was trying to see how she was going to be received the 2nd time around. I think that she's selling pretty well especially considering how the musical season is as well as considering that it's double disc, but she's Christina Aguilera, so why hasn't she sold multiplatinum yet? It's based on single choice. You can't take 4 years to come out and then try to be ultra-creative and veer off the path too much. The route that she's going is more of something that can be respected critically, but it ain't the most commercially feasible thing to do. I have to agree with you. Not to compare her to Madonna, but the reinvention is similar - the thing that has always worked for Madonna is how quickly she changes. It makes it more interesting. I know it takes time to make a new sound (music wise), but had she come with this album closer to the Stripped era it would've been seen as something more special. Also, I think we started seeing this look in 2004. I remember her being on Oprah around the election and she had a very vintage look. I was really excited about the new material because of her look. But the album never materialized and I lost interest.

That was a great picture of her. Glad to hear so many shows are selling out and that the show is so good. She is just totally awesome. I wish I could go to one too.

Christina Aguilera got a helping hand - or ten - from her dancers during a show-stopping number on her sold-out stop in Las Vegas on her Back to Basics tour March 3. WHAT A HOT OUTFIT!!!! :o Kinda reminds me of Nelly Furtado's white dress at the AMA's. Loving the white!

I just got back from Christina's show at the Honda Center in Anaheim and let me tell you the bitch was AMAZING!!!!!!! Her show was spectacular (Jamie King is phenomenal). Everything was great from the set to the song selection (pretty much all from Back To Basics, she sung Beautiful and Fighter as the encore and did Dirrty, a cabaret version of Come On Over and a reggae version of What A Girl Wants which I LOVED!!). The choreography was AMAZING! Her dancers were on point (a friend of a friend is one of her dancers!) but most importantly, Christina's voice was ON!!! I swear, I thought she was lipsynching but she just sounded absolutely flawless like the CD. I'm still annoyed by her style of singing sometimes and my biggest complaint was that EVERY SONG had that one big note she would dip down and reach for and screach out but other than that, she was perfect! She has great stage presence and can keep up with her dancers very well without doing all they did. My favorite moments were Lady Marmalade (2 guy dancers acting like trannys), Fighter (such a powerful performance), Welcome (great circus act with fire twirlers, guy on stilts and girls on swings), and Hurt (probably the best I've ever heard her sing it).
The Pussycat Dolls and Danity Kane opened. I like Danity Kane but they didn't bring it. Wannita and D.Woods were fierce and so was Drea but as a whole they were a little off and you couldn't hear a word they sung. They're learning..... I was expecting the worse of Pussycat Dolls because I don't think they're that stellar and they've been working the same routine for almost 2 years BUT THEY WERE OFF THE HOOK!!! Nicole is AMAZING (she did an acapella version of Feeling Good, very good). Not only is she GORGEOUS (I would do her in a second) but she has great stage presence. Their whole performance was very well put together, EXCELLENT CHOREOGRAPHY and SO SEXY. The audience really showed them a lot of love and they felt it.
GO SEE CHRISTINA AGUILERA. The show was definitely not sold out so tickets won't be that hard to get for the balcony. GO SEE HER!

Thanks for the concert review. You've got me even more pumped up for Saturday's show!
Does this show have a catwalk into the audience?
