A song called "Take Control" leaked a few months ago, but I just heard a new song called "Some Like It". Is a new album going to be here soon?

That’s why the amiable Washington D.C. song siren is calling her impending album None of The Above. “It’s called None of The Above because I feel like as people we never like to be in boxes and myself, I never like to feel like I’m categorized,” Amerie exclusively told Vibe.com, Tuesday night (May 23), at the Sprite Street Couture Showcase. “Everyone is always trying to put me in a box, as far as growing up, ethnicity-wise and racially like ‘What Am I?’ ‘What do I think I’m more of?’ “I feel like with this album, I really got to have fun and create a lot of different things.” Print Email Comment Amerie also disclosed that None of The Above is close to being completed and should be ready for a Fall release. Although Amerie didn’t reveal any plans for possible features, she did say that she co-produced four songs on her new album. Before leaving the Sprite fashion showcase, Amerie kindly whipped out her iPod and let Vibe.com be the first outlet to exclusively preview three of her songs. The three cuts alone, revealed an array of musical tastes, ranging from up-tempo funk tracks to a mid-tempo ballad. “I mean I just create music. I just do my thing,” said Amerie. "It (the new album) goes from like ‘70s funk to the ‘80s music that we all grew up listening to and I just meshed it all together with my signature style.” A confirmed release date of Amerie's None of The Above hasn't been announced as of press time. |

I need to re-listen to Touch, I never listened to anything but "One Thing" and my personal favorite "Rolling Down My Face" (absolutely adored the horn part in that song)

Amerie now has DJ Premier on the album.
Another leading lady Premier will be working with soon is Amerie. She's currently in the lab constructing her next album. "She's funky, got a new style that's dope," Premier said. "I like all her harmonies, and she writes her own stuff."

^^ I guess what she needs the most is the right team - personally I think this is what she lacks the most
She needs some seriously management and complete label support
Amerie, stands out above all other R&B/hip Hop young ladies like Rihanna, Christina Milian, Ciara, but she just need the right people with her to guide her way. '1 Thing' was on fire but then they lacked a powerful second single to keep up the sucess. I mean, 'Touch' the single was fine and could do well, so as 'Talkin Bout' but there was no promo or anything else for her specially in the States after the album was released
They need to work on that, put her on the public eye. I am not an Amerie dye hard fan, but I can see she is really really a true star and she has the talent for it. I cannot wait for her new album!

I am a big Amerie fan, and I really believe she's got what it takes to be up there with all the other R&B Divas. Has anyone seen her perform live? I have in person at a DC concert and she was just amazing, her energy is unparalelled IMO shes just got "IT" she just lacks the total package when it comes to promotion, advertising, as well as the right material for a completely solid album or solid singles.

Rihanna is not R&B or an R&B diva - she's really just a multiracial pop princess, which throws everyone off for some reason., even Amerie's close to being pop. I liked "One Thing" a lot, but - other than her followup - we got a lack of anything...What we got was crap too. Her album was bad.
