with it though. "Sniff of the Wiff"? Cmon! Yeah, what is a Sniff of the Wiff? Is this referring to something sexual? If it isn't it sure sounds like it is and that's that last message she needs to be putting out "Let you get a sniff of the wiff". Ick! And, I can't agree with the people who say, They need to go for a different sound. Different I agree with but there are GREAT GREAT songs that are different then WISU that could have been released, Only One U, Uneligible, Sunshine (is a ballad but it's different because it's one ballad where she's mellow and would be able to go top 40 if they send it for adds). Most importantly, Sunshine is different but will keep her built in audience at Urban, Urban AC and rhythmic (even though they don't send her for adds there, she always manages to travel up to the mid 40's).

LOL @ Damage. Still one of my favorite movies. Yeah you cant say ick to NTWID and vouch for Sunshine. They are the same song. The only difference is the tempo.

Sunshine? Hmm. I dunno about that one, it's boring. I prefer NTWID, which is sad.

I do think only one u would be good right about now. But I'm not the biggest r&b guy in the world and I've been told that it's been done before (the song idea), and that it's not that hot.
I like it though. I was rockin that for a good 3 weeks.
I like when she's like "help me with this countDOWWWWWWWwwwnnnnyeah"

If they want to take a risk, I go with "Bore Me." I could see a cute video with that, and if she can think of a dance, it'll take off. What would chicken noodle soup be without the dance? lol.
Seriously, I think the ideal single would be "Two Weeks Notice," "Surround U," or "Only One U."

If the label wants an uptempo, the best choice is "Surround U" imo.

Like someone said, we should probably wait until it's official. This may not even be the follow-up single anyways. NTWID doesn't fit her image or her target audience. Instead of it being an album support, it's more of a death sentence for her CD.

It is? Well think about what type of music fan hasn't bought her cd and could, in significant numbers.
it didn't go crazy with sales, so the hood boy/girl market remains incompletely tapped. The ballad/sweet folks picked it up after tcp and wicu, along with the vh-1 appearance.
So what crowd should they market to. Only one u is ballad/sweet territory.
What's popular right now? Hot beats and dance moves. Umbrella. The way I are. Even beautiful liar.
There are slower, r&b tracks with r kelly and tpain, but I think her marketing info probably shows they've gotten those people, who are tasia's core, to pick up the cd. So I think they may be focusing on the up tempo, dance, hot beat folks, who will pick up some albums for party jams for the summer. It's a summer of change, with the election activity, uncertainty in the music industry, and you could even look to her labelmates to see what they're putting out and contrast that with what unique product fantasia can release that they cant/don't.
I'm just saying its more than "oh, that sounds decent, release that".
Shooter can probably go into more depth and give better information. I'm just taking educated guesses. For all I know, the goofballs at j (who will now be known as jballs) are throwing darts at a list on paper.
Has anybody talked to the jballs lately? Dal?

Why not just release Surround U, lyrics are safe and the beat is hot. Could go multi-platform and establish her uptempo ground.

Damage - last I heard from J is that they were going to do a major push for WISU on TRL. I dont know what happened. They havent gotten back to me since then. They are not responding to emails lately - which is NOT a good sign. I dont know what the problem is. Its like they dont want this cd to do well. Then why order 100,000 more cds if they dont? Its aggravating.

For all I know, the goofballs at j (who will now be known as jballs) are throwing darts at a list on paper. Has anybody talked to the jballs lately? Dal? J's whole thinking is that releasing a full-on ballad like "Two Weeks Notice" during the summer will cause it to get drowned out by all the club/fun/party tunes being released en masse. TWN was always on the table to be a single (Clive referred to it as this album's FY) and so far, that has not changed. And they know they're taking a risk by releasing NTWTID BUT they're figuring it's the hottest uptempo on the album that can get Tasia some club play at least and if it fails, then it at least saves TWN from being a single lost in the summer shuffle. And as I said, if the video is HOT, the song will do fine.

That is really good to know. So they are still considering TWN for a single. That will be a definite hit for her. Now NTWID, doesn't seem so bad.

I think Two Weeks Notice would make a good Fall/Winter hit. It's definitely a certainty on Urban radio outlets, and it would equal Free yourself's reign on those charts. I also think that Nominate you, even with its seedy/provocative innuendos would work well on Urban charts.

Why don't J just release Surround U. That song is so hot yet it's still Tasia's safe zone. The beat is hot, the lyrics is poppy and her voice sounds great, perfect cross-over material. And besides I think she can also make a hot video with that. Surround U would blow up.

Anyone have any more info? I'm so proud of Ms. Tasia! Fantasia staying in spotlightAudiences adore Fantasia Barrino in "The Color Purple"; now the "American Idol" songstress is in talks to extend her time on Broadway with a new show. The singer is negotiating with the producers of a big musical to be based on the life of Ada (Bricktop) Smith, an African-American expatriate in Paris in the 1920s who became a nightlife queen. Bricktop's is a great story. She rose from humble beginnings in Alderson, W. Va., to become the toast of Paris in the Roaring '20s, where she was first employed overseas by Cole Porter to teach dances such as the Charleston at his parties. By 1929, she owned her own nightclubs such as The Music Box, Le Grand Duc and her famous Chez Bricktop, where she entertained Porter, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, and F. Scott Fitzgerald. Porter wrote "Miss Otis Regrets" for her. She even worked with Josephine Baker and Mabel Mercer. www.nydailynews.com/gossip/r_m/index.html
