Shania fan do I hear a little jealously from you. I have met Faith more than once and trust me there is NOTHING fake about her, she is one of the most humble, genuine people in the business. Faith leads from her heart, too bad I can't say that about the gimmick Shania , rememeber the green, blue and red. Least Faith put her Cry album out there without the gimmicks of Shania's UP album and let it fall where they did can't say that about the color coded Shania now can we. Her CRy album may not of been country in the arrangements, NOT the songs, but it had more soul, passion and feeling than Shania's Up album singing about growing a beard.

I shouldn't reply to the troll, but I must reply 1 final time. I just have 1 thing to say to kyhomeg. Regarding the "Cry" album: Faith did not "let things fall where they may." Did you not know about the Remix she did for "You're Still Here" to get it on Country radio? Surely you knew about that. Right? If you are going to attack someone in any way, and even resort to call someone "jealous," I would hope that you would have your facts straight beforehand. Have a good day kyhomeg. I will not reply to you anymore. It is clear why[/B] you are here.

Faith Hill's "Mississippi Girl" Enters the Top 10 - Keith Urban's "Memories" Remains at No. 1
By: Craig Shelburne
Some may continue to debate whether she has changed or not, but that hasn't slowed down Faith Hill's "Mississippi Girl." Skipping ahead four spaces to No. 9, the four-week-old song marks her highest position on Billboard's country singles chart in four years. ("If My Heart Had Wings" soared to No. 3 in 2001. Her subsequent singles, "There You'll Be" and "Cry," did not make the country Top 10.) Her album Fireflies is expected in late summer.

Good for her, hopefully this equates to another big debut for Mrs. McGraw.

Billboard.com:
New Faith Hill Album Set For August By Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
Faith Hill's "Fireflies," her first studio album since 2002's "Cry," will arrive Aug. 2 via Warner Bros. First single "Mississippi Girl," which was co-written by Big & Rich's John Rich, is No. 8 this week on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"Fireflies" finds Hill teamed with longtime production collaborators Byron Gallimore and Dann Huff on 15 tracks, including "Like We Never Loved at All," opener "Sunshine & Summertime," "Good Ole USA" and "Stealing Kisses." Hill's husband Tim McGraw guests on an as-yet-unidentified song.
Also included is a cover of "I'm Not Lisa," a big hit in 1975 for Jessi Colter that topped Billboard's country singles chart and reached No. 4 on the Hot 100.
Hill has begun lining up TV appearances in advance of "Fireflies," including Aug. 2 on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" and Aug. 4 on "Today." As previously reported, she and McGraw will also perform at the Rome edition of the July 2 Live 8 concerts.
Here is the track list for "Fireflies":
"Sunshine & Summertime" "Mississippi Girl" "Dearly Beloved" "Ain't Gonna Take It" "Stealing Kisses" "I'm Not Lisa" "Fireflies" "Like We Never Loved at All" "I Want You" "The Lucky One" "If You Ask" "Good Ole USA" "You Stay With Me" "Wish for You" "Paris"

"Paris" is on it! :(
The song Angela Ammons submitted for her during the "Cry" era didn't make it on this CD either. :(

Billboard.com:
Faith Hill Sets New Album Track List By Phyllis Stark, Nashville
Additional details have surfaced about Faith Hill's highly anticipated new album, "Fireflies." As previously reported, the set will be released Aug. 2 via Warner Bros., and is led by the single "Mississippi Girl," which advances 8-7 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart this week.
The album includes 13 tracks plus the bonus cut "Paris." And while Hill recorded a cover of Jessi Colter's 1975 hit "I'm Not Lisa" for potential inclusion, that version has been axed from the final "Fireflies" track listing. Hill's husband, Tim McGraw, duets with her on "Like We Never Loved at All."
Other standouts include the title track, "Sunshine and Summertime," the humorous "Dearly Beloved" and "Wish for You."
As previously reported, Hill and McGraw will perform Saturday (July 2) at the Rome edition of the Live 8 concerts.
Here is the track list for "Fireflies":
"Sunshine and Summertime" "Mississippi Girl" "Dearly Beloved" "I Ain't Gonna Take It Anymore" "Stealing Kisses" "Fireflies" "Like We Never Loved at All" featuring Tim McGraw "I Want You" "The Lucky One" "If You Ask" "We've Got Nothing But Love To Prove" "You Stay With Me" "A Wish for You" "Paris" (bonus track)

From the tracklisting I'll guess 64% country/country-pop and 35% adult-contemporary and 1% Janet Jackson cover. :)

Faith Hill performs during the Live 8 concert in Rome's Circus Maximus. She looks good but whats with the serious skin color difference chest-up and her hands... she looks sun-burnt. Oh, and just saw her CD cover - she looks nice.

HITS:
ONE-DAY SALES: RETAIL’S ACT OF FAITH
WB Country Diva Has a Virtual Lock on #1, as She Heads Toward a Solid but Not Spectacular First-Week Tally
August 3, 2005
A day into the new-release week, this much is clear: Faith Hill, the reigning queen of country music (although Shania fans might take issue with that statement), will rule next week’s charts with her brand-new Warner Bros. album Fireflies, which is en route to the 300k area code. While that is a more than respectable number, it doesn’t approach the 422k first week Hill registered on her previous LP, which streeted on 10/15/02.

Entertainment Weekly review: Generic Faith Hill
Not that Hill should care--everything she's touched for more than a decade has gone multiplatinum, thanks to a voice plush enough to rival songbirds like Mariah Carey and pliant enough to tackle everything from gospel to bubblegum.
On "Fireflies," she pumps up the country signifiers, with arrangements ornamented by pedal steel, fiddle, and mandolin. The sole ringer ("Paris") is a torch ballad, the nadir a flag waver ("We've Got Nothing But Love To Prove").
Otherwise, Hill protests that she's just a "Mississippi Girl" who "ain't bigheaded from a little bit of fame." She also ratchets up the twang in a parade of hillbilly parodies: the hoedown "Dearly Beloved," the tear-in-your-martini "I Ain't Gonna Take It Anymore" and the slow-burn duet with hubby Tim McGraw, "Like We Never Loved At All."
Alterna-folkie Lori McKenna's contributions save Hill from schlock overdose. McKenna's "Stealing Kisses," "Fireflies," and "If You Ask" may not meet anyone's standard for honky-tonk, but they're the kind of emotionally nuanced songs Hill should seek out more often.

The album is awesome and her best IMO. I perdict longevity on the chart with this one. Way to Go Faith for a awesome album, from the female with the best voice in the business IMO, who sings from the heart.

Billboard.com:
Hill's 'Fireflies' Lights Up The Billboard 200 By Margo Whitmire, L.A.
Faith Hill's return to her country roots earns the songstress her third No. 1 on The Billboard 200 with "Fireflies." Her sixth effort for Warner Bros. Nashville sold 329,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and is also her third album to top Billboard's Top Country Albums list. Lead single "Mississippi Girl" is No. 3 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
Hill's most recent studio sets, 2002's "Cry" and 1999's "Breathe," debuted at No. 1 with sales of 472,000 and 242,000 units, respectively. She has to-date U.S. album sales of 16 million.

I have a quick question: 1 1 TOBY KEITH As Good As I Once Wa... 4803 5215 -412 43.460 2 2 FAITH HILL Mississippi Girl 4807 4872 -65 42.421 www.mmr247.com/mmrweb/AllAccess/Charts.asp?format=c1MShouldn't Faith be #1?? and I dont think they're doing it by audience impressions because Gretchen's song would be #9, instead of #12
