OUCH - 206k is very disappointing, considering Make It Rain was a semi-big hit.

Imperial Records and Terror Squad Entertainment are releasing Fat Joe’s first official single, “I Won’t Tell (featuring J. Holiday)”. The song is already exploding at radio stations around the country and rapidly heading to the #1 spot on the charts! The street single, “The Crackhouse (featuring Lil’ Wayne)” was serviced to radio only a few weeks ago and is also getting tons of love and mix show airplay, early supporters are saying it’s sure to be the next hustler’s anthem.
Fat Joe has been in the studio all summer creating his new album, "The Elephant In The Room," the album will be in stores March 11th, 2008. The album features multiplatinum producers, Scott Storch, Cool & Dre, DJ Premiere, Terror Squad artist, DJ Khaled, Danja Handz and impressive, up and comers, The Runners and LV. In addition to these powerhouse producers the album also features guest artist, Lil Wayne, Diddy, J. Holiday, Rick Ross and Dre of Cool and Dre. This is Fat Joe’s eighth album and it promises to be his biggest and most successful project to date. The album cover will be shot by photographer, Jonathan Mannion in an unknown location. The video of “I Won’t Tell” is going to be a star-studded, extravaganza, reminiscent of the Notorious B.I.G.’s “One More Chance”. The video will be filmed, November 20th in Miami during DJ Khaled’s big, holiday weekend and directed by Gil Greene (he also directed “We Taking Over” by DJ Khaled).
The previous album Me, Myself & I on Terror Squad/Imperial Records has currently sold over 250,000 units and the single “Make It Rain (featuring Lil Wayne)” has currently sold over 2 million ring tones and over 1 million digital downloads. As a solo artist and with Terror Squad, Fat Joe has already sold over 4 million records worldwide. Fat Joe is a hip hop icon and an amazing businessman who is a legendary member of the Diggin in The Crates Crew with Big L and Lord Finesse. He also launched the career of his protege, Big Pun, who was the first Latin rapper to sell over one million units and Fat Joe also received a Grammy nomination for best performance by a rap group or duo with “Lean Back.”

Fat Joe Goes Gangster On 'Elephant'January 16, 2008, 10:45 AM ET Mariel Concepcion, N.Y. "'Elephant in the Room' is a gangster rap album - rap being the room and the elephant being me. Fat Joe's been doing it for 15 years and he still doesn't get his just due." That's what the Bronx-bred rapper had to say about his upcoming release, and his description is accurate. Due March 11 via Imperial, "Elephant" features songs about bodies washing up in the Bronx River ("Kill All Rats") and what type of retribution to expect if you cross Fat Joe ("I am a professional / I will cut your testicles," he promises on "300 Brolic"). Producers on the set include Cool and Dre, Danja Handz, Scott Storch, DJ Premier and Swizz Beatz. Plies, J. Holiday, Pooh Bear, Beatz and DJ Khaled make guest appearances. Still, not all is grim on the set. The Holiday-assisted "I Won't Tell," which is currently No. 12 on the Hot Rap Tracks chart, is Joe's dedication to his female fanbase and the sirens-laden "Drop," produced by Beatz, is a song appropriate for any club or party. Other standout tracks include the Premier-produced, scratch-filled "Thank God For That White," the bass-heavy "Preacher on a Sunday Morning" and "Fugitive," on which Joe rhymes, "N*gga, bitch, hoe / some chicks is bitches, some chicks is hoes ... Now who gonna tell me I can't say n*gga?"

Album Preview: Fat Joe - ‘The Elephant in the Room’Leaning back on a broader audience after the last couple of explosive singles, Fat Joe is ready to hit the scene again—and he intends to be the topic of conversation. “I am going to be that elephant in the room, ” he says, his dimples implying an air of mischievous confidence. “I’m here in hip-hop and you won’t be able to ignore me.” We’ll find out if his prophecies become truth on March 11th, when his eighth album, The Elephant in the Room, drops. Until then, here’s Rap-Up.com’s track-by-track rundown. 1. “The Fugitive” Produced by Street RunnerWith blaring sirens, obvious police drama in the background, and immediate verbal threats, there’s no question that Joe is demanding attention with this opener. It’s a tougher sound that you’d anticipate hearing after his first radio single. 2. “Ain’t Nothing” featuring Dre of Cool & Dre Produced by Cool & Dre“If it ain’t about money…” This is the first of a couple of potential club bangers on the album, displaying Joe’s signature playful swagger. This one’s like many of Joe’s catchy hooked singles. 3. “The Crack House” featuring Lil Wayne Produced by Steve MoralesJust what you’d expect from a collabo between Joey Crack and his proclaimed favorite rapper. Crazy rhymes and tight delivery on both parts over an underwhelming beat—the perfect combination for a potential follow-up single. 4. “Coca Baby” featuring Jackie Rubio Produced by Danja HandzJoe named this as his favorite track on the album. Upbeat, rhythmically focused, and blessed with an easy tempo, this one’s got strip club potential. Make it rain all over again? 5. “Get It For Life” featuring Pooh Bear Produced by DJ KhaledThrowin’ it back to the ‘80s, this one is on “some George Michael shit,” as Joe put it. Speeding beats set off a nightrider vibe with a less than superior flow. 6. “Drop” featuring Swizz Beatz and Jackie Rubio Produced by Swizz BeatzSwizzy hits us off with one of his distinct sounds that’s inevitably going to make ‘em bounce like his signature hydraulic singed beats. Definitely more gimmicky; this track might even come with its own dance if this was a Dirty South affair. 7. “I Won’t Tell” featuring J. Holiday Produced by Sean C. and LVThis one’s currently burning up the airwaves. With J.’s smooth vocals and sexy mid-tempo flow, this was a sure shot for an attention-grabbing first single. You know how it goes—get the ladies on the dance floor first and everything else will fall into place. 8. “KAR” Produced by Street RunnerAn acronym for “Kill All Rats,” this track boasts the most confident delivery, with meaningful verses. A tribute to the ones “locked down,” Joe pays homage to the hustle and all its repercussions. 9. “300 Brolic” Produced by Sean C. and LVBacked by a thunderous beat, this joint could be the background to an Apocalyptic flick. One of the grittier songs on the album, Joe reverts back to a street mentality, switching content from fly girls to flashy guns. 10. “Preacher on a Sunday Morning” featuring Pooh Bear Produced by Scott StorchStorch doesn’t measure up to his rep on this track, where the rhymes are decent but essentially overpower the weak, cliché beat. 11. “Thank God For That White” Produced by DJ PremierWith a beat that takes you back to the Bronx in the days of hip-hop’s childhood, it’s one of the most seasoned backdrops on the playlist. Crack reminisces on the gutta and glory of his home territory. –Rajul Punjabi in New York www.rap-up.com/2008/01/17/album-preview-fat-joe-the-elephant-in-the-room/#more-4749
