OH MY GOD!
This album is sick.
Best pop album of the year so far. If Britney wasn't this mess in real life, this would be diamond. At least she knoes what she's doing musically.
Bloodshy and Avant are love.

TOY SOLDIER! CRAZY! FREAKSHOW! CRAZY! Even Why Should I Be Sad, which was OK for me in the demo. Granted, this is mostly about production but so was FutureSex/LS and everyone CROWED over that and it sold millions so there is no reason why this shouldn't. I wonder if Brit has even heard the finished copy, lol

Toy Soldier is really quite neat, if they choose it as a single I would be impressed.
I can't help like Ooh Ooh Baby even if it is a Gary Glitter/Goldfrapp rip off. It will get old really quickly.
Heaven on Earth sounds better is HQ, it's good!
She could have hits singles off this if she wasn't such a mess. She hurt the success of Gimme More.

Piece of Me, Radar, Break The Ice, Toy Soldier, Hot As Ice, and Why Should I Be Sad have just become 6 of my all-time favorite Britney songs! EVER!
There will also be a Deluxe Edition released on Tuesday with 3 bonus tracks. "Kiss Me All Over", "Everybody", and "A Song About U" if I'm not mistaken.

Totally buying the deluxe edition if it's true, but I wish it was "Kiss You All Over," "Get Back," and "State of Grace (Mystical)." :(

Holy SH!T Toy Soilder gives me chills! It's so unexpected and so different and versitile. It's so good! It's so sexy, appealing and different. It's so seductive and catchy. Wow something I would not expect from her. Definetely a surprising track more so in my opinon then Peice Of Me, Radar and Break The Ice.
That chorus is beyond infectious.

MOD NOTEI've warned you folks before about respecting Pulse's rules on illegal downloads. In fact, I've also said that I will not hesitate to lock this thread if people refuse to abide by them. So I'll see you folks tomorrow, then. The Pulse rules: 3. No Illegal MP3 Sharing. This is against the Proboards terms of service. Posting a link to an MP3 that is not commercially available is fine, so is posting a link to an MP3 on an artist’s website. Posting an MP3 link to a song that is commercially available, without the copyright holder’s permission, will result in a warning.
4. No Asking for MP3s Publicly. Since members are not allowed to post links to MP3s, it should go without saying that asking for these links would also not be allowed publicly. This includes posting messages on the board asking other members to “Private Message” a song. Moderators have no jurisdiction over actual Private Messages.

The new wave/synthpop, "Heaven On Earth" must, and needs to be a single! It'll take and standout "Blackout" to the next level! If "Heaven On Earth" becomes a single, it'll top the charts, and enter the adult contemporary, dance, and alternative charts!

'Black' mark REVIEW | La Brit gives us one more tawdry pole dance with fifth album
October 24, 2007 BY JIM DeROGATIS Pop Music Critic For all her travails -- the divorce, the child custody fight, substance abuse, hassles with the paparazzi and a zombielike performance on MTV -- it wasn't inconceivable that Britney Spears could produce an artistic triumph on her fifth album, "Blackout," which arrives in stores Tuesday but already is streaming on the Web.
Granted, the deck was stacked against her: Since morphing from a Disney child star into a Lolita-meets-Madonna pop princess, the 26-year-old entertainer has been better known for tawdry attempts to seduce and provoke than for musical excellence. The slight charms of hits such as "... Baby One More Time" (1998), "Oops! I Did It Again" (2000) and "Toxic" (2004) could be credited to the best producers money could buy and enough digital trickery with the vocals to make Cookie Monster sound like Beverly Sills.
Nevertheless, Spears could have followed so many musical greats before her -- from Billie Holiday to Janis Joplin to Sinead O'Connor -- and sought catharsis in new sounds that drew from the pain in her life. What would that album have sounded like?
Alas, we'll never know, because "Blackout" is just another of the tawdry pole-dance routines La Brit has given us for nine years. Only the fifth time around, the aural sex sounds more pandering and desperate than ever.
Although her corporate hype machine tells us the album title refers to "blacking out negativity and embracing life," the 12 songs are more like defiant boasts about being a black sheep and an unrepentant bad girl, despite the toll such behavior is taking on the newly brunet singer and her children.
"I'm Miss American Dream since I was 17/Don't matter if I step on the scene/Or sneak away to the Philippines/They still got pictures of my derriere in the magazine," Spears sings on "Piece of Me." "I'm Miss bad media karma/Another day, another drama/ Guess I can't see no harm/In working and being a mama."
Britney, no one is criticizing working mothers. It's the kind of work you do and how a good you are as a mom that listeners and the family court are questioning.
Bursting with synthesized hooks and seductive grooves, the music is as enticing as any current mainstream dance-pop. Credit is due an army of top-dollar songwriters (some tunes list as many as seven) and producers such as Swedish hit-makers Bloodshy & Avant, Timbaland's protege Danja and the Neptunes. But ultimately, the blame for the album's failure rests on Spears alone.
One difficulty is the breathy cooing Spears tries to sell as singing. She has never sounded more robotic or relied more on studio enhancement; as New York Daily News critic Jim Farber wrote, "If a blowup sex doll could sing, this is what she'd sound like."
But an even bigger problem is the cliched nature of lyrical come-ons such as "Baby I'm just hot for taking/ Don't you wanna see my body naked" ("Perfect Lover"), "Touch me and I come alive/I can feel you on my lips/I can feel you deep inside" ("Ooh Ooh Baby") and "My body is calling out for you bad boy/I get the feeling that I just want to be with ya/Baby, I'm a freak and I don't really give a damn" ("Get Naked").
This goes on and on, past the point where people who think Penthouse Forum is great erotic literature will be bored or cracking up. In the past, some critics have defended Spears as a post-feminist fully in control of exploiting her own sexuality. But her out-of-control behavior makes that tough to accept, and it's become just as hard to pity her.
"I'm Mrs. 'Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous'/You want a piece of me/I'm Mrs. 'Oh my God, that Britney's Shameless'/You want a piece of me," Spears sings, asserting that the caricature in the gossip columns isn't the "real" Britney. The trouble is none of that sounds too exaggerated. And anyone who does want a piece of such a sad, troubled and self-destructive woman should really be ashamed.

I agree that on some songs she does sound more electronic than her previous albums but lets face it, that's where pop music is NOW...this is a fresh, hot and modern sounding album with a great tracklisting and everyone has different favorites, so that tells you something.
Here are my favorites, in order from favorite to least favorite:
1. Heaven On Earth 2. Break The Ice 3. Piece Of Me 4. Radar 5. Gimme More 6. Hot As Ice 7. Freakshow 8. Toy Soldier 9. Get Naked (I Got A Plan) 10. Perfect Lover 11. Ooh Ooh Baby 12. Why Should I Be Sad

Does anyone know if any of these tracks are going to be I-Tunes exclusives or bonus tracks on other countries BLACKOUT album?:

I legitimately just spit water all over myself lmfao. Yeah... I'm gonna have to go with the reviewer on this one. Some songs are obviously very, very catchy... But what else does she have to offer? There hasn't been any growth or maturity. If anything, this is lyrically a downgrade from her past works.

Britney Spears doesn't need to prove that she can sing. She can. Better than average too. This is fact whether or not you enjoy her voice. Watch her Diane Sawyer interview, she talks candidly about her voice.
Second of all, this is album number 5. No matter what she does she gets flack. The one dude mentions Baby and Oops have vocal trickery -- has he ever listened to the songs? The only thing on her voice is your normal reverb and echo. Vocal layering? Sure -- for harmonies.
Finally -- an artist does NOT need to write and produce all of their songs. Do actors write, produce, and direct their movies? No. Britney Spears is a singer/entertainer. Why put talented song writers and producers out of business who have A) No desire to sing, etc. B) Can't sing, etc. but can write one hell of a song?
Then again, this is expected. It is cool to have a love/hate relationship with Britney Spears. Madonna got the same flack for her voice, singing off key at concerts, and someone called her "Minnie Mouse on helium" before if I recall. But look, she is still here too and popular.
What is wrong with just doing some catchy, modern, fun pop music? Nothing I say.
