It was only my opinion..I still love Carrie and her music, I would just like some more personality! (I knew I would get attacked here) I wasn't attacking her, it was just something I noticed about her, I mean she sort of is getting better at it.

I love Carrie and all...she is one of my favorite arists, but does this girl have a personality? She seems to be too good of a good-two shoes and do whatever her label tells her. I mean in Before He Cheats she was afraid to show her hitting the lights out of the car with the bat, and she doesn't want to kiss in a video but let a cartoon kiss...It's not that big of a deal! SHOW SOME PERSONALITY PLZ! If you "love Carrie and all," I don't think you would be saying this. You would accept her for the person she is. What you see is what you get. From all appearances, she's still the same girl she was 3 years ago, just a lot more rich & famous. She's doing her best to make sure this "fame" thing doesn't go to her head. She keeps her private life private, and doesn't want any part of the tabloits. Society needs A LOT more people with a "goody-two shoes" type image. The world is STARVING for good role-models at the moment, so exactly what is wrong with her being herself? She is an ABSOLUTE breath of fresh air in a society where our role-models are falling right and left. As for personality, you probably haven't seen or heard too many of her interviews then... she's got plenty of it. Not everyone is bubbly or loud... she's kind of quiet by nature. Can't we all just be who we are without others judging us???

Thanks for that last interview vinman! Carrie reads message boards, even the "free-for-all" ones LOL. You know sometimes she's gotta be thinking, "That b****, she doesn't even know me!" hehehe Love her! And I love your avatar vinman!

i think some people expect celebrities to be bubbly and outgoing, but evidently, some of them are not... just because someone keeps his/her emotions in check most of the time doesnt mean they dont have a personality... thats their personality! carrie is more reserved and thats her personality. it isnt bubbly, but it still is a personality.
on the other hand, some artists are more about the personality than the talent. and i dont like that.

You're so right Jeff. And it sure makes everything else seem so small.

SHOW SOME PERSONALITY PLZ! This is not an attack- I promise! :) I see your points, but I sort of feel sorry for Carrie sometimes, with all the pressure she is under to be a perfect role model for everyone. She can't be herself sometimes- she always has to worry about what everyone thinks, or who she might offend. It is not an easy line to walk. But In all fairness to Carrie- I think you may be making assumptions about the Ever After video, just because in the BHC video she didn't want to actually damage property. There are a lot of very conservative country music fans who love carrie-- but they may not like her anymore if she is construed to teach their children it's ok to damage property etc. But Where did you hear that Carrie was the one who decided not to kiss the boy in the video? Disney was in charge of it- so there is no reason to blame carrie for that....? I think Disney tries to keep it clean- and maybe they thought it was cuter to have animated carrie do the kissing, as an unexpected twist in the video. My theory is that it is so boring if they had kissed-- yeah, big whoop. Princess kisses prince, happy ending, blah blah blah. Disney likely wanted to make it a bit more interesting, by having it fade to the animated carrie, let her kiss, because that follows the theme of Enchanted too. Enchanted is part in the real world, part in the cartoon. By ending back in the cartoon world, it likely follows the ending of the movie. Carrie has a very dry sense of humor, that some people get, some people don't. I personally find her very funny and full of personality. I would much prefer someone like her any day, then a loud mouth self-centered ditz in jail or rehab like most female celebs these days.

Oooh, let's not put anybody else down, Momma Tee! :)
Btw, if it's of any interest to anybody (which I'm sure it's not and I'm just a post-whore), I have a dry sense of humor too. So in case I get to hang out with any of you, don't tell me I didn't give you fair warning.

Actually I agree with tsharky...she is trying to be such a perfect role model that she sometimes doesn't seem herself...and well for John...do I have to show where I was attacked? I think that your response was pretty obvious...just because I had this one thing about Carrie doesn't mean I'm not her fan or don't like her. Geez!

Geez! thanx for not taking what I said the wrong way-- I think when carrie gets older and used to all this pressure, etc-- maybe she will loosen up even more, and stop trying to please everyone, you know? I see a stronger carrie already in that EW article and the 17 article- she made some very strong statements. Also--- she finally addressed the leanne rimes bash of her-- and she didn't sugar coat it or hold back- she gave an honest response to the Tennsessean paper, that I applaud....:) And I bet leanne didn't like it too much-- lol So carrie seems to be slowly taking little stands, anyway. :)

I think the next single should be 'Just a Dream' followed by 'All-American Girl' then 'Last Name.'

i think all american girl will definitely be the next single (how ironic, it just came up on my itunes lol)
after, i see it being JAD, LN, and then FOTF to close. i just think they HAVE to release flat on the floor, it has just as much personality, if not more, than BHC!!!! (since we are all on the subject of personality hahahahah)
but we shall see!

So what is everyone's choice for second single? I really, really want 'Crazy Dreams' followed by 'Last Name'. I want either All American Girl, or Flat on the Floor next. Then another fast song in the summer, one of those, or last name, or Get out of this town. Then just a dream for the fall.

I think the next single should be 'Just a Dream' followed by 'All-American Girl' then 'Last Name.' I think "JAD" and "A-AG" would do well at country radio, but they're like "DFTRM" in that they wouldn't sell her CD well. Songs like "Last Name" would spur sales more. If they follow the pattern of the last CD, it would go: 1. "So Small" (inspirational ballad) 2. "Just A Dream" (sentimental ballad) 3. "Last Name" (feisty uptempo) 4. "Flat On The Floor" or "Get Out Of This Town" (catchy closer) I would necessarily mind that, though I do hope she gets at least 5 full singles at country radio this time. I'd also love to see "I Know You Won't" pushed to AC radio.

Entertainer of the Year nominee Rascal Flatts will perform the opening song, and then return for a second performance with Academy Award- winner Jamie Foxx. How did they manage that? Are both songs from their CD?

Carrie's personality is what endears her to her fans. She's shy to begin with, so for her display outward giddiness would be out of character. She's very funny as we saw on a couple on interviews yesterday. Besides, she's been on the radio tour from hell in the last 10 days or so, and I would be tired after all that. She's just fine the way she is. If she were to all of a sudden start talking like Kelly Clarkson, people would notice it immediately as not being her. Nothing against Kelly mind you, but she does have alot to say and says it in a hurry. Two different people, two different personalities. I prefer Carrie just the way she is.

Are both songs from their CD? Yup. If I'm not mistaken, RF will open with "Still Feels Good" and then their duet "Winner at a Losing Game" with Jamie Foxx-- both of which are in their new CD. This'll be the second time for RF to have 2 numbers in a single country awards show. In the 2006 ACMs, they performed "Me and My Gang" and then "What Hurts the Most" with Kelly C.

A-AG as the next single? Not one of my personal favorites, but from a less-biased point of view, I guess I can see why it might be a frontrunner as the next single. It's one of the top downloads and one of the most played album tracks, so it seems to be getting a strong response. My issue with it is selfish-- it'll take away a single slot which I would like my more favored tracks to take. I want JAD, LN, GOOTT to all be released. If there are 5 singles, no problem, but 4 seems to be standard. I do agree with jenglisbe that A-AG will have a DFTRM effect on album sales.
I absolutely love IKYW and YWFT and even CD has really, really grown on me, but I think I've accepted that they most likely aren't on the shortlist, just as I loved TNBLGO but knew it wasn't a likely SH single.
Now, how many acronyms did I use and how long did Carrie (wink) and the spying DJ's take to decipher all of that? :)

Actually the duet with Jamie Foxx is "She Goes All The Way" and it is amazing!!! They aren't performing their current single "Winner At A Losing Game". I believe the reason why they are performing "She Goes All The Way" is so that more Grammy voters will hear it and then nominate it.

Two Academy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards for Best Original Score and Best Song (with Tim Rice) for "A Whole New World," from The Lion King. "A Whole New World" is from Aladdin.

Carrie put herself up on that pedastal as a role model, no one else so I don't feel a bit sorry for her in that respect. I don't think anyone expects her to be perfect (except maybe the her hardcore fans) just not be so stiff. She sometimes seems bothered to be asked questions and it's off-putting IMO. She doesn't have to be stupid and silly but at least acted INTERESTED and ENGAGED when someone is asking her questions. I mean I get that she's more reserved and shy, but she's in the business as an entertainer, she can't come across as a wet noodle... Perhaps it's just when she can be seen that she appears that way because I've heard interviews where she was very engaging and interesting...in person however, her body language is so stiff, to the point of making me feel her discomfort in the situation. Admittedly, she has improved greatly since Idol so clearly it's something she's working on. on another note, I can't get I Know You Won't out of my head! I downloaded that song from itunes and even when it's not playing on my ipod, it's playing in my head!!

Carrie didn't put herself on a pedestal. That's who she is. She is not about to change her core values just because she's star now. She is very shy, but she is also funny and engaging. She is working hard to overcome her shyness and I think she's doing a great job. Anyone who saw her CMT shows can see that.
