www.burnlounge.com/southjerseytunesThis company was just launched called BurnLounge (http://www.burnlounge.com) for unsigned artists to get their music out there without the need of a major record label. This is going to revolutionize the music business as we know it. Unsigned artists can upload their music into the library of BurnLounge for free, by sending in a form along with your music. It takes 2 weeks and then your music is uploaded into their library. You then receive royalties for every song/album of yours sold. For every $.99 song of yours sold, you would get $.50-$.60 and for every $9.99 album sold you would get $5-$6. If you would like to do this contact me and I can send you the form that you will need to send in. Then I would put you as a featured artist on my store and sell your music and you would get the royalties for songs I sell. All your band would have to do is promote my store to sell your music, rather than trying to sell your cd's in the back of your car. Or, if you would like you can purchase your own store and sell your own music and make money from the sales of music plus royalties from your songs being sold. my store: www.burnlounge.com/southjerseytunescontact info: Brandon Wolvin, bwolvin@gmail.com

Can't they open up their own store? Why would they have to go through you? This is a pyramid scheme isn't it?

Yes, they can open their own store. But if they didn't want to spend the money on that, I was offering bands a way to get their music out there. This isn't a pyramid scheme, check it out for yourself, this business is already backed by sony, warner, emi, and universal. I can't see all of these companies having their name involved with something that might turn out to be a scam.

No, my understanding is that the record companies aren't involved beyond the licensing agreement that the company Loudeye has with them. Burnlounge uses Loudeye to provide the music downloads. I believe MSN uses Loudeye too. I did check it out and it is kind of a glorified pyramid scheme. The only way for those involved to make any real money is to sign up new people to open stores using them as a reference. The more people you sign up and get to pay the monthly fee the more money you make. It kind of works a bit like Amway. The only ones really making money off of music downloads will be the musicians but they could sell music downloads on their own websites. For a clearer explanation along with a bunch of cultish sounding rebuttals from burnlounge here is a link.It makes it relatively clear that the only way to make money is rope your friends into opening their own stores.
