This band is still officially an indie band, this time around on Sub Pop. I have not heard any of their new stuff, but I'd really love to. One Beat was a real masterpiece, and I have enjoyed everything else I've heard from them.

I listened to clips of the new one and it sounds a lot more... loud? I don't know. It sounds more accessible but not in a bad way at all.

Sleater-Kinney are one of the best artists out right now, and have been for over half a decade.
They've been so consistent their past three albums. "The Woods", being their most recent release, I actually feel even tops their previous efforts, where here they've really turned away from the progressive/punk roots and aim for more Hendrix-like pitches and such.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I only heard it because it was a free download at Amazon. Not bad I guess.

Wait, they played on Leno or Letterman a few days ago. I think I saw them, but I'm not sure. If they're a big band with like a cello, a xylophone, and other unlikely paired instruments, then, wow, they were good. Very GOOD.

I'm not sure, but you're may be thinking of The Arcade Fire or The Decemberists.
Sleater-Kinney are just guitar, bass and drums. Also, unlike The Arcade Fire and The Decemberists, Sleater-Kinney only has three people in the band, all female.

Definitely not The Arcade Fire, but, yeah, you just confirmed, I think, that it was Sleater-Kinney. They did really well, I thought.

I've heard some of Sleater-Kinney's music before (they're from my region), though I can't recall the names of the songs. I was very impressed with them. I think it was on one of the NPR programs where I first heard them, plus maybe on one of the Seattle area stations.
