Like the production....but, I miss her playful flow. She used to be the female Ludacris

The production sounds like it's building from the snippet. Can't wait to hear the full track.

Man.... innovative? ground braking? Don't see that at all. I miss the old missy. Hopefully other tracks of the album and the videos bring the excitement she used to offer. Good luck to her. It'll be great to have her strong in the music scene again.

Guess she's tryna switch up the vibe for the first single...Missy's lead singles (since So Addictive anyway) were always playful. Luckily, her albums usually have a bit of everything/something for everybody.

Apparently both will premiere in full on the 17th according to Rap-Up.

I'm already excited for the album.
The title Class Dismissed sounds much better than Block Party. I think she can build a theme like her previous albums. Block Party is so generic. I was kinda hoping she would reveal the guest list. We already know it's Timbaland and possibly Lil' Kim and Eve. A Brandy collab wouldn't be bad.
As for "9th Inning" and "Triple Threat", I think they are refreshing in the current state of Hip Hop.

What I'm hearing is two really good buzz tracks, but after a 7 year absence from the game.. this is what we get. I wanted a more playful record for her comeback single, and we don't need that much Timbaland on these tracks.

Timbaland oversaturation is not good on either track.

Missy came off well in the Breakfast Club interview. I liked that she recognized that she needs to reintroduce herself and that a 7 year hiatus is not something that you can just jump back into the game after.
Tim, on the other hand, came off as pretty disgruntled.

They both sounded mad and old in that interview.

www.rap-up.com/2012/10/19/missy-elliott-debates-new-album-title/#more-139780On the 15th anniversary of her debut Supa Dupa Fly, Missy Elliott sat down with Fuse to reminisce about her groundbreaking album and the iconic video for “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly).” “Everything about it. You hadn’t heard it before,” said Missy of the 1997 project, which took two weeks to record. “Even the rap flows was different. I think it was 10 years ahead, 15 years ahead [of its time].” Looking back, she’s proud of her work. “I’m probably more in awe with it now than I was then.” She dropped her two new singles “9th Inning” and “Triple Threat” last month, but she has yet to decide on a title for her seventh album. While she was choosing between Block Party and Class Dismissed, one fan suggested a third title, Class in Session. “Somebody said Class Dismissed sounds like class is over. Class in Session sounds like you’re taking people to school. I gotta figure it out,” she said. During a Ustream session, she revealed that she has a “fun, party record” featuring Lil’ Kim and Eve. When asked if the album will contain a 2012 version of “Not Tonight (Ladies Night Remix),” she responded, “Great possibility.”

Wave, you got me started already.lol.
I thought about Supa Dupa Fly (and One In A Million) when I was listening to Ginuwine's The Bachelor last night. The album was seriously out there compared to those two. Timbaland's sound was already different on the R&B albums, but it was on some other ish on SDF. So damn quirky. lol. Missy's delivery as a rapper was just weird, especially on the album tracks (i.e. "Izzy Izzy Ahh" and "Gettaway"). Tim and Missy blurred R&B and Hip Hop (Rap) on most of those tracks (i.e. "Sock It 2 Me" and "Beep Me 911"). I could go on. lol.
Class In Session makes better sense than Class Dismissed.
I realized Brandy is the only mononymous R&B diva from the 90s she has not worked with.

Well...she is featured with Kelly Rowland in Fantasia's new song "Without Me" but I don't know if I would expect an album from her anytime soon. Hopefully next year.

I'm over getting a new album from her. It really is tragic, and those two singles she dropped last year were garbage.

I've been over her as a recording artist for YEARS. She lost that spark. Let her stick to producing and guest spots.

Part of me feels like we may never get another album from her, but I'm ok with that because her album discography is basically perfection as is.
But another part of me thinks it would be cool for her comeback to mirror her come-up, like coming back through producing and writing songs for R&B artists and then be able to breakout that way.
