I'm surprised she's working with Kanye after the whole "All Falls Down" sample controversy, though I guess that could have been more Sony's fault than Lauryn's.
I thought the Fugees reunion was confirmed for this year, but I guess not.

Hasn't she been working on a new album for the last few years? I recall an old article on Rollingstone.com that said she had nearly finished then (back in 2003). I really hope this album will be worth the wait, especially since she's got the talent to come back in a big way.

It would be nice to hear some new material from Lauryn. I liked the majority of the songs on her The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill album.
And a reunion with The Fugees would be great too. Their album was great too.

I've been hearing about this project for so long that I've completely lost interest and am sick of hearing about it. If she's working on it, I think information should stop being released unless the album will be released within 3 months.

I think this is from the star-ledger:
A rare Hill sighting SOUTH ORANGE home girl, Lauryn Hill, surprised a crowd of 300,000 Sunday night when she did an impromptu acoustical performance at the Africa Unite concert in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Hill performed three new songs from her long-awaited first studio album in seven years during the concert held to celebrate what would have been Bob Marley's 60th birthday.
Hill, who is married to Rohan Marley, one of the sons of the late reggae star, indicated that her forthcoming album would have a strong spiritual and political slant.
Her last album was the 1998 Grammy-winning "the Miseducation of Lauryn Hill."

You tell me. Why has she been promising them new music since 1998 and hasn't come through yet? She seemed to be going through mental problems... I would imagine it would be extremely difficult to live up to "the miseducation of Lauryn Hill" it was EXCTREMELy successful critcally and commercially which is rare. I mean the pressure of that has to be difficult. And people are quick to lable everything a flop if u dont match previous numbers. And then her unplugged album was not very well recieved at all. She probably just didnt know how to handle so much pressure. And also, I read that "the miseducation..." was not all Lauryn. Meaning she had alot of people tell her what type of record to make. it wasnt 100% all her and she also had a problem with making the commerciallu accepted album her label wanted.

Screw her and her politics. She has taken way too long and strungher fans along. Plus she has one of the worst attitudes of any performer around.

nah, her fans are eeeeeagerly anticipating her cd. and most love her politics, that i've seen. lauryn will get embraced by her peers in the industry when she comes back, believe that. don't hold your breath waiting on lauryn hill diss tracks to come out, let's just say that

The 11-day festival will begin June 24 at the Petrillo Music Shell in Grant Park with a headlining performance by the mercurial Hill, who has yet to record a studio follow-up to her multimillion-selling 1998 debut album, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill." The former Fugees vocalist remains one of the most compelling performers in contemporary folk-soul. The rest of the lineup includes LeAnn Rimes and Aaron Tippin on June 25, Black and Julie Roberts on June 26, a Broadway in Chicago production on June 27, Donna Summer on June 28, the Gap Band and Morris Day and the Time on June 29, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Creedence Clearwater Revisited on June 30, Winwood and Dr. John on July 1, Santana and Los Lonely Boys on July 2 and a fireworks show on July 3. John Hiatt playing with the North Mississippi All-Stars will close the festival on July 4 with a still to-be-named headliner.

About time Chicago has gotten a REAL headliner. I'm tired of them country acts.

I thought the Fugees reunion was confirmed for this year, but I guess not. I know that she and wyclef have done shows somewhere in the caribbean(i think jamaica), but i dont think the fugees are back together. Last i heard pra and 'clef had a lot of bad blood between them.

The album is due out this summer, but the album has had actual release dates in the past and still not come out. So I'm not counting on it.

People might be dissapointed with this album. The time its taking her to release something, is making people anxious and they will probably be expecting the best album of the decade(but i guess that happens when u take so long to put out a proper studio follow up). I doubt if she will ever live up to "the miseducation of Lauryn Hill" unless she does an Alicia Keys and makes the 2nd album better than the 1st, but thats going to be hard because Lauryns album was one of the best ever, and neither of Alicias albums match hers. Lauryn can only hope to match her 1st album, and thats still going to be hard, especially if she is still in that "unplugged" mood.

It's funny because I was just commenting to a friend yesterday how Lauryn Hill fell off the face of the earth. Hopefully, she'll come out with something SOON!! And hopefully it's not something like her MTV Unplugged garbage.

It must be very tough on her.
I feel bad for her considering all the preassure she must be under.

i don't feel bad for her at all! sistagirl is keeping it really real. She could strangle a man with her hair. None of that ciara/beyonce/serena aspiring to be white nonsense. She's got a fro, she's got a real fro too - none of that blown out puffy stuff - that hair is unf*ckwittable. I love it. Absolutely can't wait to hear what fire she brings.
