I heard the Rauhofer mix twice out this weekend. Would love to see this get to the top!

What a bummer that "Yesterday" and "Hands Tied" didn't chart considering the amount of remixes issued.

She needs to go back to a major label, and create some fresh r&b music that is pop leaning.

I am also surprised "Make My Heart" didn't make the dance chart either.

I Heart U has hit #1 on the Billboard Dance Charts ...and still no sign of the actual album. Ridiculous.

Congrats to Toni's #1. No disrespect to the other remixes, but you cannot go wrong with Toni + Peter Rauhofer. This is a well-deserved #1 for both of them. I've heard this out several times and the crowd loves it.

Wednesday, June 20, 2012 | 1:18 PM Toni Braxton to Film Lifetime Movie with SonBy Derrick Bryson Taylor It's been a number of years since we've seen Toni Braxton on a movie set, but the diva with the famous family is planning to get back into the acting groove for Lifetime. According to her Twitter account, she and her son, Diezel, are teaming up for a new movie for the women's network. "That's all I can say for now," she followed up. It's unclear what the film will be about, but it will be her first film in six years. Most recently, Braxton lent her voice to the kids animated film The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure. Before then she made guest appearances on TV's Kevin Hill and is best known for her role of Juanita Slocumb in Kingdom Come alongside Vivica A. Fox, LL Cool J and Whoopi Goldberg. In the immediate future, catch Braxton and her sisters for a special summer season of Braxton Family Values this August.

Toni Braxton in talks with RedOne and LA ReidGroovevolt.com July 06, 2012 R&B vixen plans new album, new label and upcoming Braxtons season. In a recent interview with Billboard Magazine, Toni Braxton says she is in talks with RedOne (Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez) to sign a new label deal with LA Reid possibly handling the project but considering this upcoming project to be on her own terms, “I’m considering doing a P&D as opposed to a straight record deal,” says Braxton. “I was not educated as a performer. I was just being an artist. Now, being on the other side, its a lot of work and I’m enjoying it a lot.” Braxton is currently in the top ten with her dance hit, “I Heart You,” which is also released on her label, “Its expensive. I can tell you that, but its also rewarding.” The singer is looking forward to a few upcoming projects including a Lifetime movie with son Diezel, the release of the children’s film, “The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure,” a new short season of the Braxtons Family Values and a possible duets album with her mentor Babyface, “Because we’re older we want to do something like ‘Eat Prey Love,” only we’d call it, ‘Love, Marriage, Divorce.” This will be the first time fans have seen a musically active Braxton since the release of her album, Pulse. “People were thinking, ‘Oh, I forgot about Toni Braxton. What is she doing?” she adds, “I don’t want people to think of me as a sick person. I don’t want that to define my image. So people have opened up to, ‘Oh, shes working again! It’s good! That;s what I’ve been trying to do.”

Please no RedOne. R&B is her core and if she wants any sort of success she needs to pander to that market.

Why she wants to become this dance diva all of a sudden is beyond me...midlife career crisis?

Why she wants to become this dance diva all of a sudden is beyond me...midlife career crisis? Well she knows that artists can no longer sell records like they did back in the 90s and the major income for singers come from concerts. So she needs dance hits in her catalogue for these concerts. Plus she did mention the duets album with Babyface, so we'll have our fill of her signature RnB songs. ;)

What a bummer that "Yesterday" and "Hands Tied" didn't chart considering the amount of remixes issued. Yeah, but it kinda felt like Atlantic Records just put those remixes out there, and didn't push them at all. Hands Tied should've charted, because that Hex Hector edit was amazing. She and her label probably didn't hire any promoters to handle the club promo. There is so much politics and manipulation that can happen with the club chart. Congrats to Toni's #1. No disrespect to the other remixes, but you cannot go wrong with Toni + Peter Rauhofer. This is a well-deserved #1 for both of them. I've heard this out several times and the crowd loves it. I heard the Rauhofer dub played out earlier in the week with the "Un-Break My Heart" acapella over it. Why she wants to become this dance diva all of a sudden is beyond me...midlife career crisis? Cher and Tina Turner dabbled in Dance music in the late 90s as well after a fairly good long run of success with other genres so she might as well try it out. For Cher it led to a heightened mainstream profile again. There have bee many remixes of her songs throughout the years. She has R&B and remix fans so why not do something for both? Toni has embraced her loyal gay following for so long now so she might as well do a little something that they might be interested in. Let me share a story that some of you may know about that further shows her appreciation for the following. Back when she performed "Un-Break My Heart" at the Billboard awards wearing that sexy black outfit and then for the final big chorus she went into the Soul Solution & Hex Hector remix of it, her label reportedly went into a mad panic thinking she had destroyed her career! According to one of the members of Soul Solution in an interview, he says that Toni approached them about making a version of the remix so she could perform it, without the label's knowledge of course. Toni liked how it turned out and asked if there was something she could do to thank them, and they asked for tickets to the awards ceremony so they could see her perform it and she got them the tickets. Toni went out on the Vegas stage and gave that iconic performance. Her label people apparently had no idea she would approach the performance like that and had no idea what to do because they felt this performance might have alienated her core R&B fans (kind of like what we are discussing about the backlash Usher, Chris Brown, and Nicki Minaj are facing right now). But fortunately for Toni and the label, radio PDs were contacting the label about how to get that version so they could play it! They quickly produced a slow-to-fast version using the album version and the remix to send to the stations. It has been commercially released as a bonus on some of her singles during that album era. Dance remixes of Toni's songs became a regular thing after that.

Yeah I quickly forgot how she's been doing "dance" since the 90s but she was a superstar then. I think fans just want her to cater to r&b then branch out?? Who knows but "I Heart You" is amazing so...

She better take her ass to Urban AC and be happy. That's the only chance in hell she has to even sell 300,000 copies.

I just cant believe she has all this exposure from her tv show and she has done NOTHING significant with it. you can say that AGAIN and AGAIN! I' losing patience with this chick. She lucky that she is my favorite singer/artist (tied with Janet Jackson). Otherwise, i'd move on. I think the duets album would not be a bad idea. I've been wanting to see what her and babyface could come up with together. Plus, I think a lot of people want them work together again.

Haha, I just had a conversation about her this past weekend with my friend who is from the same town she is from - and I think he said has met her. Basically, he said she's dumb as hell. So, I can see her not even realizing the waste. I mean, look at her, she's doing all this exposure without having to hit a single note.
