Ohh good. I think itwill eventually go 5XP but looking back I think people would prefer to buy COO then the GH, IMO. And to the poster above.. Shania did use backing tracks during the GH era.. like t the CMAs, which I think was a terrible idea. But meh. Maybe she'll sing the new single at the Larry King thing? ahh one can only wish.

It's been 6 years since we've gotten a new Shania album. I don't think I can wait any longer. Come on, Eileen!

I'm more than sure that this album will be worth the wait when it comes out. It'll probably be the album of the year. Or not. Neither the CMA nor the ACM have given her that honor, and UP! wasn't given the award by the Grammys either, though they did at least nominate her. Now, best selling album of the year 2008 & 2009, most definitely!

That's one thig that makes me mad about her release in november. She never gets the best selling album of the year because she has like less than 2 months to garner enough sales for the year.. meh oh well.

As was previously mentioned in this thread, Shania's "Greatest Hits" cd has finally been certified for 4 Million by the RIAA. It was officially certified by the RIAA on April 17, 2008. Country-On-Demand said this about the certification: Shania Twain's "Greatest Hits" has been certified 4x platinum by the RIAA this week. She has now sold 48 million records, which means she is still the best selling country female artist of all time, and is #5 all-time behind Barbara Streisand, Mariah Carey, Madonna and Celine Dion. I have a question for anyone who has closely followed Shania's career. What happened to her voice when she released the Greatest Hits? I've been listening to 'Don't' and 'Part for Two' and noticed that she is singing noticably different. Its like she had a cold or something. Has anyone else noticed? She strained her voice on the grueling tour. There wasn't enough time to recuperate before singing the songs for the GH album. Let's hope she didn't do permanant damage. When I saw her on tour, I couldn't believe that her doctor was letting her perform. Her voice sounded like it REALLY needed rest. She really should have cancelled some appearances or at least used backing tapes. ah. Thanks. I've been wondering. Its very noticable her voice was strained.

Come On Over lived through three consecutive releases of Mariah Carey's Butterfly (1997), #1's (1998) and Rainbow (1999), and Celine Dion's Let's Talk About Love (1997), These Are Special Times(1998) and All The Way...A Decade of Songs (1999). Come On Over eventually dropped off the Billboard chart after all of those 6 titles.
LOL so who's the real legend?????

Superstar Shania Twain splitting up with husband Country music star Shania Twain, of Timmins, Ont. (CPimages '05/Jonathan Hayward) Updated: Thu May. 15 2008 5:29:10 PM The Canadian Press Toronto β She was a small-town beauty who overcame a tragic childhood to pursue her dream of country music stardom. He was a rock producer 17 years her senior whose Midas touch took her to the top of the charts. The whirlwind romance of Shania Twain, 42, and Robert (Mutt) Lange, 59, was the stuff of fairy tales. But on Thursday, the celebrity pair announced they were splitting after 14 years of marriage. The famously reclusive couple -- who have a six-year-old son, Eja -- made the announcement through their publicist. "This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time,'' Tyson Parker of Universal Music Canada said in a statement. Lange -- the uber-producer behind Def Leppard, AC/DC, Foreigner, the Cars and Bryan Adams -- approached Twain in the early 1990s after she released a self-titled debut. They formed a professional partnership that quickly blossomed into a full-fledged romance, marrying in 1993 just six months after they met. Their age difference set tongues wagging, so much so that they penned their monster hit, "You're Still the One,'' as an ode to their union. Their powerhouse musical partnership saw Twain became one of the world's most popular female pop singers, captivating fans with her unique sound and her rags-to-riches story. She was born Eilleen Regina Edwards in Windsor, Ont., and raised in Timmins, Ont., where she earned money by singing in local clubs at the age of eight to support her family. Later, Twain struggled to look after her younger siblings after her parents died in a 1987 car crash. Her breakthrough came when Lange produced her second disc, 1995's "The Woman in Me,'' which spawned her first Number One single, "Any Man of Mine.'' Shania showed off, Lange shunned spotlight Twain's bare midriff and rock-tinged sound shook the staid world of country music, but audiences were clearly captivated. The singer went on to rack up a string of hits including, "You're Still the One,'' "That Don't Impress Me Much'' and "Man! I Feel Like a Woman.'' Other accolades included Grammys, Junos, country music and songwriter awards. While Twain's good looks were made for magazine covers and music videos, Lange eschewed the spotlight. He has not granted an interview in decades and reportedly buys photos of himself to restrict their use. News of the split Thursday sent fans buzzing online with speculation, with several remarking over the age difference between the pair. "This makes me really sad,'' said one fan, identified as SheriBaby. "Especially because they have a young child...and they wrote all of her love songs together, for each other.'' They divided their time between New Zealand and Switzerland, where they lived in an 18th century home on the shore of Lake Geneva, with celebrity neighbours including Phil Collins. The surprise announcement caught staff at Don's Pizzeria in Twain's hometown of Timmins, Ont., off guard, with no one having heard the news by Thursday afternoon. Still, employee Tammy Jasmine, who says she used to hang out with Twain's brother many years ago, says the country star has remained important to the small northern Ontario community, home to a museum in her honour. "Everyone loves Shania,'' said Jasmine. "How can't you? Look at her, she's beautiful, she's talented.'' CTV Access Hollywood

I do feel for her and I wish her and Mutt the best.
However, I think this will benefit her music. The Mutt/Shania sound is just too dated and hasn't brought anything decent to the table for a while (in my opinion) that showcases Shania's talents.
Here's hoping she finds a producer to do just that.

It will be interesting to see how this affects her music and her sound. Mutt is virtually the ONLY person she has worked with throughout her entire career. (aside from her debut album) If she works with new people, it will be something she really hasn't done in years. Maybe a little experimentation is what she needs. Either way, I also wish them both the best. 14 years is a long time, especially in Hollywood.

Shania Twain and Mutt Lange's Songs Will EndurePosted: May 15th, 2008 at 2:24 pm | By: Craig ShelburneShania Twain and "Mutt" Lange announced their separation today, and it's hard for me to imagine what the future holds for them, musically speaking. Their 14-year partnership led to enormous sales (at least 47 million albums in the U.S.), and they co-wrote nearly all of her biggest hits from 1995 to 2005. If you've been to a wedding in the last 10 years, you've probably heard at least one Shania Twain song, whether it's the romantic "From This Moment On" or "Forever and For Always" at the ceremony, or something perky like "Man! I Feel Like a Woman" or "Love Gets Me Every Time" at the reception. And who can celebrate an anniversary without "You're Still the One"? Anything could happen to Shania's music at this point. She might take the separation as her cue to reinvent her sound, maybe something rootsy. Or she might forge ahead with her pop-country approach, since she's always sounded so comfortable in that arena. I don't know if the split was amicable, so their professional partnership might continue. No matter what happens, I'm always curious to hear what she's working on, because she's truly one of the most talented and ambitious country singers we've ever had. Even with this separation, their music will endure. CMT Blog

This truly shocked me. It always seemed like they had the makings of a perfect marriage but it holds true that you never know what happens behind closed doors.
