Amber will be re-releasing her debut single "This is Your Night" on February 12th to all the legal download sites. The song was re-recorded and re-produced and remixed by Pathos V2.

They couldn't get big people in on the mixes???? WTF? I mean it was a massive song for her, and with the amount of talent out there that could do it justice it's pretty sad they limited themselves to one producer on this. ???

This may have just simply been a release to make the song available through digital download stores instead of a remix project. Several months back, Amber mentioned in an internet video that she cannot release her songs from Tommy Boy Records period without re-recording, re-constructing them because they owned the original recordings/remixes and there was no clause that allows a digital release. I guess many didn't foresee such a market opening up. I had asked the person from her current label who posts all the web stuff about the possibility of a digital release of some of her remixes from the TB period which were unreleased on CD and the response was that it won't happen unless they re-do them.

Probably because Amber left to do her own thing...labels don't always like that, especially at an indie label where you are one of their bigger artists...

i wish she hadnt left-i honestly havent liked any of her singles since "the need to be naked" and that was in what, 2002? "anyway" was ok if u overlook the major cheese factor!

Probably because Amber left to do her own thing...labels don't always like that, especially at an indie label where you are one of their bigger artists... From what I read, she felt limited when she was there because they wanted to recreate the success of "Sexual (Li Da Di)." i wish she hadnt left-i honestly havent liked any of her singles since "the need to be naked" and that was in what, 2002? "anyway" was ok if u overlook the major cheese factor! I loved "The Need To Be Naked" even though almost everyone I knew thought she jumped the shark with that one. I liked Guido Osorio's mixes. The Thunderpuss mix that sampled the synth hook from "Stranger In My House" was fun. I didn't like the other one. I liked "Anyway" only a little bit. It was fine. Al B. Rich's mix was fun. Of her post-Tommy Boy releases, I did like the singles. I found at least one remix for each of the singles off of My Kind Of World to be palatable.

guido all the way for naked!!!! those thunderpuss mixes were among my least fave TP. idk how i feel about saying this, but, with the exception of "what it feels like for a girl," my least fave TP mixes were those the did for MAdonna. the REAL CLUB megamix is good-not that im a big megamix fan-but i did not like their mix of "die another day" or "dont tell me." it's funn since Im a huge TP and Madonna fan, youd think ad the two and i'd be in heaven, but no :/

IDK why she refilmed the video...I didn't wanna say this on rico's board since she visits it, but girlfriend has gained like 50 lbs since she filmed he first one and she doesn't have the same amount of money to film the new one so basically, she is filming a fat, cheap sequel. When she performed @ Purple Party last year, everyone was shocked by how much she's ballooned...she could never get away with released "Sexual" now. I'd rather be remembered for how I used to look before I let myself go!

But upon first listen and watching the video, I'm rather let down after all the hype...
Hope it grows on me.

The video is just okay. Nothing special. The original was pretty decent.
However, I do like this new mix.

this pathos v2 release or whatever isn't so great...
it's a remix that i'd skip over.. and shouldn't be the main version of this song sent out...
oh well hopefully [more?] mixes will come out and they'll be good...
:( so much hype for nothing

The new version is fine, but agreed with what everyone else has been saying about the video.

im surprised she hasn't worked with mike cruz on this At the Rico boards, she (or her management) posted that their budget for this release was limited so they kept it simple. They probably considered getting more mixes and stuff, but they just did whatever they could. Since Amber is re-releasing some of her earlier work, I wish she would choose "One More Night" and "Yes" as future ones.

Being an avid long time Amber fan, I was also looking forward to the updated THIS IS YOUR NIGHT 2008. I bought all three versions on I-Tunes without listening first, and I am very disappointed. They are OKAY, but I expected more. They are very bland. I'd rather see Amber put out new material again at this point, rather than having older tracks re-sung and remixed. I know the budget was not there, but I believe that alot of "amateur" dj's could have done better at updating This Is Your Night to actually sound like it was released in 2008....NEXT is what I say. Good luck to her and her team though.

I haven't even bothered to look this up yet. It's too sad to think she has to re-record her own hits because TB won't give in a little...
As for her apperance, I don't think that should matter at all...how many big black divas do we all love?? We should love a big white diva just the same :)

i think we all just find it sad that amber's music, production, appearance, and videos used to be fierce and now they are just low budget and honestly kind of sad....people like to see progression not moving backwards!

It's too sad to think she has to re-record her own hits because TB won't give in a little... It seems that Amber and Tommy Boy's parting of ways may not have been as friendly as we have been led to believe it was. Maybe she (and her management) doesn't want to have anything to do with them anymore. I asked her management about a possible digital release of her singles during the TB days and the person that responded said that it was not going to happen unless the vocals are re-recorded and then the instrumentals of the remixes are re-constructed, etc. Oh well. At least her vocals on this new one are still quite decent.
