Yet ANOTHER concert ticket buying day! Two concerts, to be exact.
Going to see Alabama next month because Eddie Montgomery is opening and I vowed that I would go to at least one show when it was announced he was going to tour again. Needless to say it was a bittersweet purchase for me and it's definitely going to be an emotional concert, but I'm excited to see Eddie and Alabama and I'm so glad that Eddie is touring and continuing with music.
I also just bought tickets to see Chris Young in May!!!! I splurged for VIP. As far as I can tell, there's no M&G which is a bummer (and kind of a head scratcher) but you do get a Q&A with Chris plus an exclusive performance from him, an autographed lithograph, plus tons of other gifts. I am SO excited to see Chris because I never have before! And I adore him to pieces. His new music has lost me, but his albums through 'A.M' are masterpieces and among my favorites. And that VOICE! I can barely contain myself right now lol. Of course, I'll be revisiting his last two albums that I didn't care for with an open mind!
Morgan Evans is one of the openers for Chris and I'm happy for that cuz I really like his debut single "Kiss Somebody." At first I was thinking of Jordan Davis who sings "Singles You Up' and I was like, nooo lol. First I thought it said Morgan Wallen and I was like, oh HELL NAW!!!!! lol. Sooooo glad it's Morgan Evans instead of those two lol.
Oh yeah.... guess I should say that the other opener is Kane Brown. I'll let y'all know if he's as bad live as I think he is. Hopefully he'll sing "What's Mine Is Yours" cuz I adore that song and it's actually a pretty good fit for his voice.
I'll shut up now lol. But I'm excited!
ETA: Lol I didn't mention it but I am front row center for the Chris Young concert. So. STOKED! I'm center for the Alabama/Eddie concert too, but 16 rows back, so boo. lol. Fun fact. The Alabama/Eddie concert is at the same venue as the Chris Young concert. I also have to drive 3 and a half hours but so worth it.

I'm going to see Cam in Seattle tonight. Tiny cozy venue, so excited! I had to choose between her and Gary Allan who is performing at a casino here tonight too. Was tough but I'll take the up and comer and a small venue for a lower ticket price. :)

Second concert in a row I've have to bail on due to a concussion. Thomas Rhett a few weeks ago and now Tracy Byrd who I haven't seen in over 20 years. Really bummed but my head can't handle the noise. And it was front row too.

Cam was FANTASTIC! She’s really got such a great stage presence and her voice is incredible. We got a peek at another song on the new album which I think could be a SMASH. It is called Forgetting You When I’m Alone. She opened and closed with Diane and the crowd loved that and went nuts! Her Patsy Cline cover was a standout and out of her own catalog, I was most impressed with Runaway Train. It was such a jam for her and the band.
Here is the set list!
Diane Mayday Half broke heart Forgetting you when I’m alone My mistake Hungover on heartache Cold in California Palace Sweet dreams Village Country ain’t never been pretty Runaway train Fireball whisky Burning house
Encore No one gets to heaven, everyone gets left behind Diane

I've seen her twice now (once at an acoustic set with Sunny Sweeney and Kelsea Ballernii and another as a standalone performance with her band); she has an incredible stage presence and I just can't help but to think she's a future standout of the genre...as long as radio gets on board. "Diane" could be a make or break it hit for her...but I think it'll end up being one of the biggest female country hits of 2018 and she'll end up with some CMA nominations towards the end of the year (single/song/female vocalist).

Chris Janson has the most energy of anyone I have ever seen and is the best opening act I've ever seen.
Joe Nichols is great. He had a cold so couldn't hit high notes but he told us at the start. Did all his hits plus Baby Got Back, Running Down a Dream, several country covers.

He is playing not far from me this upcoming February opening for Cole Swindell along with Lauren Alaina and while I really like him and Lauren I cannot stand Cole at all so not sure if I'm gonna bother with the show. I will at least be seeing Sara Evans in February (2 days before the Cole Swindell concert) and Alan Jackson this upcoming August. Tickets for those 2 shows are already purchased and I am beyond excited.

I adore both him and Morgan Evans so it should be a great show. I'll put up with Kane Brown lol. I'm also going to see Montgomery Gentry next month when they open up for Alabama. It feels so strange to say I'll be going to a MG concert. It feels like I should say I'm just going to an Eddie Montgomery concert. however I'm really looking forward to it. I'm glad he's out touring! I want to go to at least one other MG show in the summer, so hopefully that works out.

I'll be seeing Terri Clark for the second time in February. When I saw her a couple of years ago she was great, so I'm hoping for more of the same this time.

I bought tickets to attend Tortuga Music Festival. This year the country artists include Eric Church, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Lee Brice, Dwight Yoakam, Brothers Osborne, Russel Dickerson, Dan + Shay and Chase Rice. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few too.

Just splurged on Chris Young (February 9) and Lee Ann Womack (March 23) in addition to LBT (March 3) tickets I bought last year. Contemplating on buying Alan Jackson and Tim & Faith...

Also, I forgot to mention Kip Moore, William Michael Morgan, and Dylan Scott will be there too.

Went and saw Brent Cobb, Jon Pardi and Miranda Lambert tonight and it was one hell of a show! Pardi had so much energy up on stage and got the crowd going good before Miranda came out. Miranda was awesome as well it's been 11 years since i saw her but she's still amazing. Overall it was a fantastic show but surprisingly it felt like the sets were short.

Montgomery Gentry and Alabama tonight. I haven't seen Alabama before but I love their songs so I'm really looking forward to that. It's going to be so weird to see Eddie up there by himself. It just feels like Troy should be there . But I am really looking forward to seeing Eddie and hearing the music. I'm so glad he is continuing to tour and do music. So, so, so glad.

Next week in Austin: Margo Price! I missed her last show at the same venue a year ago (although I did catch her at a local festival). Looking forward to hearing some of the new material.
