Donna Summer's first studio album in 17 years, tentatively called "Crayons", will be released on May 6, 2008, on Burgundy Records.
The first single is "I'm A Fire", and it looks like Burgundy is going out of their way to promote it. The first set of remixes are by Craig C, Solitaire, Sebastian (original producer of the track) and Redtop.
A second set of mixes will be follow in about 2 weeks.

i'm still praying they'll release tony's mix of "valley of the moon" I hope Tony Moran doesn't come anywhere near Donna. He is so tired, he, Miss Vasquez and Peter Rauhofer really should hang up their dancing shoes. "I'm A Fire" is not the first single, but a club teaser. The first single is “Stamp Your Feet”, which goes for radio adds next month. I received a promising press release: The Queen is back! Legendary singer songwriter DONNA SUMMER is back with a NEW STUDIO ALBUM – CRAYONS AVAILABLE EVERYWHERE MAY 2008 on BURGUNDY/SONY BMG.
Donna shows her love for the club community as she gives an early taste of her new album before the official single “STAMP YOUR FEET” goes to radio next month.
Donna Summer - “I'm A Fire” round one mixes:
1. I'm A Fire [Solitaire Club Mix] 7:12 2. I'm A Fire [Craig C's Burnin' Master Mix] 11:02 3. I'm A Fire [Redtop's Extended Mix] 7:21 4. I'm A Fire [Sebastian Original Album Version] 7:23
__________________________________________________________________________________________________ Donna SummerMedia Duplication NYC has just completed a batch of promo copies for Donna Summer’s new dance release “Stamp Your Feet”. Donna Summer is an internationally known singer-songwriter whose music has earned five Grammy Awards, three consecutive number one platinum albums (she is the only artist, male or female, ever to have accomplished this), eleven gold albums, four number one singles, two platinum singles, and twelve gold singles. Considered the voice that ignited the disco generation, she has been an enormously popular and enduring performer and recording artist for more than a quarter of a century. Donna Summer was born on New Year’s Eve in Boston. Her childhood was filled with music. Inspired by Mahalia Jackson, she began singing in church choirs at the age of ten. A few years later she joined a Boston rock group, and by the end of the 1960s she was living the life of an artist in New York City’s Greenwich Village. Soon after, Donna left the United States to join the German cast of Hair. She was still in her teens, a shy, ordinary girl who was suddenly feeling the jolt of the sexual revolution. She lived in Germany for seven and a half years, modeling, acting, falling in love, getting married, and giving birth to a daughter. She met a producer named Giorgio Moroder, and together they created a song called “Love To Love You Baby.” It became one of the world’s premier disco hits. mediaduplicationnyc.com/blog/?p=34

After hearing all the mixes from the first package, I think they are pretty good. And Donna's vocals are nice as well. Solitaire and Craig C's are my favorite, but the Original is a close third. According to DJ Rico, there will be more mixes by Lost Daze, Soulflower, Rod Carrillo in the next few weeks. I hope Tony Moran doesn't come anywhere near Donna. He is so tired, he, Miss Vasquez and Peter Rauhofer really should hang up their dancing shoes. Although, the little work that all of those guys did for Donna wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been. Thunderpuss' "Love Is The Healer", Tony's "You're So Beautiful", Junior's reworks of "Melody Of Love (Wanna Be Loved)" and "Whereever There Is Love" and Peter Rauhofer's remix of "I Will Go With You (Con Te Partiro)" may not have measured up to the fabulousness of her earlier work, but they were not that bad. I did prefer those over her recent circuit outings with L.E.X., Ralphi Rosario and Eddie Baez (though I did sorta like his rework of "She Works Hard For The Money"). And Junior has that unreleased mix of "My Life" which was reportedly quite good.

You just illustrated my point beautifully! Ha ha. So you see, those guys should buy a condo in Del Boca Vista... The club mixes of "Whenever There Is Love" (1997) were very good, although for "Melody Of Love (Wanna Be Loved)"(1994), I prefer the original, David Morales and West End mixes. Same goes for "I Will Go With You (Con Te Partiró)", the original production by Mac & Hex is outstanding, and IMHO, none of the remixes did it justice. The set mixes weren't bad per se, but they just couldn't hold a candle to the original. "I Got Your Love" was a very lame song, me thinks. No amount of remixing was going to save it. "I'm A Fire" is a great song, and all of the mixes are top-notch. I think it's cute when Donna is singing in Spanish. "Crayons" is shaping up to be THE dance album of 2008. I agree that the original production of "I Will Go With You" is the best!!! I have both cd singles and the only versions of the song I transferred to my ipod were the Original in English and Italian. Oh course I love "You're So Beautiful." I was never so wild about Chris Cox's mix of "I Will Live For Love(which I only heard out once @ a circuit party Kimberly S was spinning.) The TP mix of "Love Is the Healer" is an oldie, but a goodie that I still enjoy listening to; I also enjoyed Ralphi's dub of "I got Your Love" although that single had to grow on me. I never cared for any of the mixs of "Power of Love." Offer really did a boring, uninspired mix. The Dom Capello mix was better, but her voice wasn't clear.

I never cared for any of the mixs of "Power of Love." Offer really did a boring, uninspired mix. The Dom Capello mix was better, but her voice wasn't clear. I sorta liked the main Hani mix, but just for personal listening. Once I got Offer's mix, that was the one I listened to mostly. Of the mixes he had done by that time, it was quite melodic, but I wish he had used all of the vocals instead of just that short segment. Part of me thinks that his filtered pella "came apart" during those parts so it wasn't going to work. Offer took some choice elements from Dana International's "Nosa'at Le Petra" (Going To Petra) and used them in the mix. That beatless intro is taken from the ending. Offer just remixed the Dana song and began playing it lately. Peter Rauhofer also did a dubbish mix of "Power Of Love" that didn't really go anywhere. I edited around most of the extra portions and it made for a good segue track between styles. Alex Ocampo's bootleg of that one was actually the only "mix" that actually kinda worked. He used the main Hani version and just added some beats/synths/bass.

For the circuit crowds, there's a mix by Ranny that clocks in at 7:39. It's quite tasteful.

Ranny's commissioned mix was approved over the weekend. He's very excited. That's great news because I felt it was good enough to be part of the remix package. I was trying to figure out which remix he had used to get the vocals since little to no Donna Summer acapellas have been made commercially available.

Jonathan Peters has mixed this, and it is HOT! He played it at Pacha this past Sunday, and it was definitely of epic length.

It will probably get a release since Hosh is the A&R for the mixes & they have a good history together.

I loved what he did with Paula Cole's "I Believe In Love", Whitney's "My Love Is Your Love", Bette Midler's "In These Shoes", Jessica Folker's "To Be Able To Love" and most recently, Justin and Beyonce's "Until The End Of Time." Can't wait.

Every single Donna Summer Promo goes for crazy amounts on the Bay. I remember "Power Of Love" going for an insane amount. Solitaire's Mix is the one for me on this.

i love how the perfectbeat email makes fun of the people who spent $500 on this on ebay! that said, i do not care for any of the mixes of this song. i dont know why she didnt use the big, talented djs she has in the past: hex, rosabel, peter, tony, chris cox, offer nissim, etc. i'd rather she spent the money on one good remixes than two cd single's worth of mediocre unknowns.

"Stamp Your Feet" is even better than "I'm A Fire." It's a lot more anthemic and fun. While the lyrics may not be that meaningful, it's a perfect for the dancefloor. With the right remixes, it will be ready for the clubs.
