Gardenia used to be my absolute favorite Mandy song ever, but...
Everblue > Gardenia
It might just be because it's all fresh and new to me though, LOL.

Wild Hope was a lot better than this overall, imo.

I really don't get why people love Everblue so much. I mean it's ok, but isn't great!

In My Pocket didn't chart? Man, I loved the club mix to that song.

Almost 20K! And like 1/5 of Wild Hope...
I would like it to increase, but I dunno how to do that. "ICBYHADOTW" goes for adds next week... I guess if the second single does well it might have a good chance...
What would you guys release as a second single?

^ I think "Pocket Philosopher" could be a nice single.
So the Grammy Museum gig seemed more of a conversation with Mandy than a concert. She only sang four or five songs (Pocket Philosopher, Song About Home, Merrimack River, ICBYHADOTW) and answered the interviewer's questions for a good portion of the night. Very small, intimate venue. Mandy only stood a couple feet away from the front row. As tall and gorgeous in real life as she is in videos!
Some cute, endearing moments of the night: calling Lori McKenna "a good egg," being surprised at the fact that people in the audience actually knew "Gardenia" (it being her favorite song she's ever written), using the word "flippant"... Anyway, I didn't get any video since I was so up-close but my friend did manage to get a lot of photos so I'll post some later (Mandy's manager told my friend to stop taking photos... after the show had ended.) After seeing her live, I think I love Mandy even more now!

She sang "Gardenia" as well? Glad to know she loves it as much as I do, LOL. Did she answer audience questions as well?
As for singles I'd like to "Love To Love Me Back, but would be happy with either "Pocket Philosopher" or "Merrimack River". I'm thinking one of the latter would be it since she keeps singing them.

Nah, she didn't sing "Gardenia." I wish! She just mentioned the song when asked what her favorite song has been on any album of hers. The audience got a chance to write down questions before the show, and the interviewer chose a couple of them.

"I Could Break..." is quite lovely. I have listened to a few songs from the album, and I think this is easily her most fully-realized album yet. In the past, I've always felt she was still trying to mold her musical identity, which resulted in the albums sounding clueless and unsure, but from the few songs I've heard, she's finally found her zone here: the songs sound solid and cohesive, and her singing is more assured than ever. Good effort.

Ugh. I thought it was the 16th for some reason.
And I did not get that e-mail from her either.
I went to the site though and they are planning to post it sometime soon.

Hmm....I just listened to this, and am listening to it again right now.
Not what I expected, don't know if that is good or bad yet. I am a big supporter of Wild Hope, so I was hoping for more of that sound from this album. This album is definitely more lush, and layered in a good chunk of the songs.
I have to give this a few more spins to decide......the one thing I will say is that the album insert photos are not impressive at all. Just strange to me, and to0 grown up, if that makes sense. Don't know if they were going for the Marilyn look, but it doesn't come across, for me anyway. Except the photo of her holding the glass, that one is cool.
Is this from the same label as Wild Hope by the way?

No, "Wild Hope" was released on Firm Music, while "Amanda Leigh" was released on Storefront Recordings.

Thanks, I got the album from the library and it doesn't have any of that info on it so thank you.
Well, I have to say, I am enjoying this album now very much. The first two tracks aren't really doing it for me, but once you get pass those, there are some nice songs on here. Indian Summer is very Carole King which I like alot. I wish that good music sold more to the masses....this is the kind of music that should be selling well, not crap with repetitive beats and lyrics that are about lollipops or disco sticks. I give Mandy alot of credit for putting out quality music.

I am not familiar with country stations...I know the country station in Chicago is more like any other station.....they play the poppy stuff....the Carrie Underwoods, Taylor Swift.......so I am not sure if it would work.....are there alt/country stations out there? THEN that work for sure......
