Amanda Leigh is a bit more independent than Wild Hope. Good album.

I am glad she is coming back out with another film. Although she may not be the best actress, she brings a refreshing, peaceful presence to any film she is in.

Mandy Moore Does Duet With Hubby Ryan AdamsFiled under: Music Minute > Love Line > Mandy Moore So cute! Seriously, this is so precious. Mandy Moore has partnered up with hubby musician Ryan Adams to do a lovely duet on Ryan's song Empty Room. Mandy does some quiet background vocals on the mellow track. And if you likey, the song will be available for purchase on a 7" vinyl during Ryan's current European tour. We're totally digging this! They sound wonderful together. Wish we could hear more of Mandy though!

SWINGING WITH THE FINKELS opens Friday in Florida and California By James Plath First published Aug 22, 2011 Florida and California are apparently where the swingers are, if the release of "Swinging with the Finkels" is any indication. Freestyle Releasing has chosen three Florida theaters and two in California for the premiere of this new Mandy Moore and Martin Freeman comedy (trailer). It opens Friday, August 26 at: *Palace 18, 11865 Southwest 26th St., Miami, FL *Sunrise Cinema 11, 4321 Northwest 88th Ave., Sunrise, FL *Delray Beach 18, 1660 S. Federal Highway, Delray Beach, FL *Cinema Palme d'Or, 72840 Highway 111, Palm Desert, CA *Mary Pickford 14, 36-850 Pickfair St., Cathedral City, CA "Swinging with the Finkels" is the story of what happens after the honeymoon ends and couples get bored with married life. Having met at the university, American-born Ellie (Mandy Moore) and her husband Alvin (Martin Freeman) are several years into their marriage. The heady sparks of lust and fun have sadly faded and they´re left with the day to day normality of their everyday life. Advised by best friends Peter (Jonathan Silverman) and Janet (Melissa George), who are having their own marital problems, Ellie and Alvin are desperate to 'spice things up.' Having explored various options, including an unfortunate incident with a cucumber as witnessed by Ellie's Grandfather (played by comedy legend Jerry Stiller), Ellie hits upon the brilliant idea to mix things up with another couple--to have a 'consensual affair' within the confines of the marriage. The couple embarks on finding the ideal couple and begins to interview a plethora of perverse and quirky swingers. They finally settle on what seems to be the perfect couple--played by the well known U.K. media personality Angus Deayton and the hilarious Daisy Beaumont. A night of insanity and hilarity follow. Filled with brilliantly observed truths about men and woman, and some side-achingly funny set pieces, "Swinging With The Finkels" is a romantic comedy with a unique edge that anyone that has ever been in a relationship will relate to. Distributed by Freestyle Releasing, "Swinging with the Finkels" has been rated R by the MPAA.

In a competitive situation with 3 networks bidding, ABC has landed a single-camera comedy starring actress/singer Mandy Moore with a put pilot commitment. The project will be written by Wedding Crashers co-writer Bob Fisher, directed by Shawn Levy and produced by Marty Adelstein and Levy’s 21 Laps/Adelstein in association with 20th Century Fox TV. The untitled half-hour is a single camera family comedy that explores the inherent conflict between the families we grow up in and the families we make. It’s told through the lens of a young, newlywed couple – Annie (played by Mandy Moore) and Ben. Fisher, Levy, Adelstein and Becky Clements are executive producing, with Moore’s manager Jon Leshay producing. This marks the first regular series gig for Moore, who has been busy in features. She is currently in production on Chris Sparling’s Falling Slowly and recently voiced the lead in the Disney animated movie Tangled, with her song, I See The Light, earning an Oscar nomination. On TV, she had a recurring role on ABC’s medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. WME-repped Moore released her most recent album in 2009. Comedy veteran Fisher most recently developed and executive produced the Fox/20th TV comedy series Traffic Light.

Disney Junior Begins Production on Animated 'Oki's Oasis' Starring Mandy Moore (Exclusive)10/20/2011 by Jethro Nededog The project is kicking into gear with an episode order and THR's first look at the singer's character. Disney Junior announced its plans for a new animated western for preschoolers, Oki’s Oasis, during the Summer Television Critics Association earlier this year. It has now given the series a 26-episode order and started production on the program. It stars singer Mandy Moore as the voice of Oki and The Hollywood Reporter has an exclusive first look photo of her character above. "Oki's Oasis uses the legend of the Old West to impart social skills and lessons for young kids about being a good friend and neighbor, reinforcing what parents are already teaching their children at home about forgiveness, honesty and sharing,” says Disney Junior’s GM and Original Programming SVP, Nancy Kanter. “The series further demonstrates Disney Junior's dedication to programming that highlights the importance of great, heartfelt storytelling as an impetus for learning and development,” she adds. Oki’s Oasis stars Moore as the voice of the cat Oki, the sheriff of Nice and Friendly Corners, who’s charged with making sure the town upholds its reputation for being the friendliest town in the West. Scheduled to air in 2013, each episode features two 11-minute stories and two original songs. The series is a production of W!LDBRAIN Entertainment, a DHX Media company, in association with Disney Junior. It was created by series executive producers Denis Morella and George Evelyn and developed for television by co-executive producer Holly Huckins (the team behind Disney Channel's Higglytown Heroes). Disney Junior, currently Disney Channel’s programming block aimed toward children aged two to seven-years-old, will add a basic cable and satellite channel in the U.S. next year.

I have been surprised at how she has been able to remain relevant without ever netting a memorable music hit or a breakout movie role.

June 15, 2012 3:51 PM Mandy Moore to collaborate with husband Ryan Adams on new album(CBS News) When Mandy Moore sits down to write her next album, she won't be alone. Her husband, singer-songwriter Ryan Adams, will likely be along for the ride. The couple, who wed in 2009, recently started collaborating for the follow-up to Moore's 2009 release, "Amanda Leigh." "I'm probably going to work with my husband on this album," Moore told CBSNews.com. "I'm not sure necessarily in what capacity, but we've been writing a little bit together. He has a studio, so I definitely want to make my record there." Since her last studio release, Moore, 28, voiced a character and recorded songs for the 2010 animated film "Tangled." She also performed the Oscar-nominated track, "I See the Light," at the 2011 Academy Awards ceremony. "There's a lot to say and a lot that's happened to me in the last three or so years since the last record's come out," Moore explained. "So I have been writing a lot and it's definitely going to be an intense, emotional record. I'm excited about it. I'm excited to get into the studio and start recording." As for the album's sound, Moore said she'll follow the path she's been forging on the last couple of albums. She's also expanded her musical palette, thanks to Adams. "He certainly inspires me," Moore said of her husband. "There's tremendous influence right now around the house -- from the music I've been introduced to, and being very happy and in a healthy, happy relationship. I think that still garners a lot of material to write about." Although Moore is focused on music at the moment, she hasn't forgotten about her acting career. Moore, who's appeared in "Princess Diaries," "License to Wed" and "A Walk to Remember," wants her next film role to feel "organic" and "right." "I like to have my plate as full as possible. I also try to be picky and choosy and find things that are going to help you grow and evolve and challenge you," she said. "If projects don't really fit that kind of criteria then I'm happy to try to be as patient as possible and wait for the right things to come along." For now, that "right thing" is music. Moore told CBSNews.com she's eager to get the album done and released by the end of 2012 or early 2013. Yes!

I really hate that Mandy hasn't been more successful as a musician. I know she despises her first few albums, but they were full of great teen pop that was just as good as or better than the material being put out by her contemporaries at the time. Her self-titled record, Coverage, Wild Hope, and Amanda Leigh are terrific, too, of course. I'm looking forward to hearing what she comes up with next.

I finally watched her latest film Hotel Noir and she did good in her minor role. She's only in the first 10 mins of the film, which coincidentally they've released on YouTube:

Drama Pilot ‘Advocates’ Gets A Pass From CBS, To Be Shopped ElsewhereBy NELLIE ANDREEVA | Saturday May 11, 2013 @ 7:20pm PDT I’ve learned that CBS has passed on high-profile drama pilot The Advocates. The project, written by The Mentalist creator Bruno Heller and directed by David Nutter, starred Mandy Moore and Ben McKenzie as a female lawyer and a male ex-con who team up as “victim advocates,” going to the very edge of the law to right wrongs and fight for the underdog. I hear Warner Bros. TV, which produces the project, will shop it elsewhere. Also being shopped at the moment is another CBS drama pilot that didn’t make the cut, Beverly Hills Cop. So far CBS has picked up two new drama series, Hostages, also from Warner Bros., and Intelligence, from ABC Studios/CBS TV Studios.

Netflix adds Disney XD and Disney Junior shows Netflix obtained exclusive subscription streaming rights to Disney XD's "Tron: Uprising." (Disney / ABC Television Group) By Dawn C. Chmielewski May 9, 2013, 8:00 a.m. Netflix has reached an agreement with the Disney/ABC Television group to become the only subscription streaming service to offer the popular children's shows "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" and the animated "Tron: Uprising." The multiyear licensing deal also brings "Handy Manny," "Special Agent Oso" and "JoJo's Circus" to the movie and television service on a non-exclusive basis. The announcement follows a high-profile agreement last December, in which Netflix won exclusive pay TV rights to Walt Disney Studio films -- including its Marvel's superhero pictures, Pixar's animated fare and Lucasfilm's "Star Wars." "This deal extends on the incredible line-up of Disney content already available for our members," Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. Netflix has been courting families, especially younger viewers, for whom streaming video services come as second nature. It created a "Just for Kids" interface that relies heavily on images, to remove any barriers to finding shows. In February, it partnered with DreamWorks Animation to create an original animated series for the service based on the forthcoming summer family film, "Turbo." The content in Netflix's children's section is kept commercial-free and carries ratings and reviews from Common Sense Media, a non-profit organization that provides information to parents seeking help in evaluating their children's media choices.

Mandy Moore on fall shows that didn't go: 'You win some and you lose some'By Jay Bobbin July 8, 2013 1:15 PM ET "I tried!" Mandy Moore says with a hapless chuckle about her efforts to star in a fall series. The singer-actress provides one of the voices for the "High School USA!" segment of FOX's new "Animation Domination High-Def" block -- which gets a primetime preview Sunday, July 21, before premiering in its regular late-night slot Saturday, July 27 -- but she also had two bids for live-action series for the coming season. First was ABC's "Pulling," an adaptation of a British comedy about three women struggling through their 30s. Moore was the first main actress cast, but she left the project, explaining her character was going "in a different direction." (Kristen Schaal took over the role.) Then she signed up for CBS' "The Advocates," playing a prosecutor crusading for legal-system underdogs opposite Ben McKenzie. Ultimately, neither show was picked up for the 2013-14 schedule. "You know, I'm a firm believer in 'everything for a reason,'" the ever-pleasant Moore tells Zap2it. "and although disappointments sort of come and go, I am so proud of the pilot that I was a part of this year. "'The Advocates' was a fantastic show," Moore says of the drama that was the brainchild of "The Mentalist" mentor Bruno Heller. "That's the only thing you're in control of, and I felt so lucky to have found that show and have found myself a part of it. I was proud to do something I had never really done before; it was a real change of pace for me, the tone and the character I was playing." In the end, Moore reasons, "You win some and you lose some, and you just have to get back up to bat again. That's what I'm looking for, the next sort of special thing that will continue to push me as an actor ... hopefully with great people to work with. You just keep on keepin' on, I guess." Part of Moore's "keepin' on" is an album she's had in the works for a while with husband Ryan Adams. "It sort of comes and goes," she reports of what would be her first music release since "Amanda Leigh" in 2009. "I've been waiting for Ryan to finish up his own music so he can have his plate clear," she says. "I'd like to get a head-start on it sometime later this summer, and maybe it will find its way out into the world early next year. I really want to go back out on tour again -- I was sad I didn't get to do that with the last record -- and it's nice to have that creative influence around the house. It only ignites that fire in me more."
