Well, it's a complete 180 from the awful Rebelicious. Aside from that, nothing else really stood out. A decent enough song, but on first listen, it just didn't do anything for me. I just didn't hear the same southern flavor that stood out on The Dollar. Maybe it'll grow on me though.

I've been hearing this song a lot the past 2 days. IT's an ok song, but doubt it'll make the top 40.

I love this song, it isnt the best song from the great "That Lonesome Song" album, but this is a nice break from all the cheery, poppy Country songs on radio right now like "Love Is A Beautiful Thing". Jamey is one of the best singer-songwriters in Nashville and I am glad he got another record deal.

I think this is a really well written song. The idea is clever, and the chorus is really poignant. I'm particularly fond of the last verse.

Jamey's album That Lonesome Song is being re-released tomorrow. It will be $7.99 at Best Buy and Circuit City, and $9.99 at Target. I wasn't really planning on picking it up until a couple of days ago when I listened to some clips and then listened to his first album for the first time in a while. Now I'm looking forward to hearing this album. The 9513 gave That Lonesome Song some high praise.

Lyrically, I think this is one of the best songs on the radio right now (maybe the best), but Jamey's delivery is just plain weak in my book. He had so much personality in his voice on The Dollar, and I just don't hear that on this track. I'm glad that this reached the T40, because it deserves to be heard, but I doubt it'll do much better than T30.

There was much more emotion on his previous album. He voice is just lifeless in "In Color."

Excellent lyrics, excellent delivery. Best song of 2008 IMO. I'm very close to agreeing. not just 2008, probably for the last 2 years...

he just sings it like he is asleep while singing. especially the verses. if he put more emotion in it (or someone else sang it) it would be much more tolerable. but this is one of the few songs that is an instant channel-changer for me. Bob That Head, All Summer Long, Holler Back, Put A Girl In It, Upper Middle Class White Trash, and For You being the others. i don't think i have hated this many songs on Country radio EVER.

Well I'm going to see him in my town on Saturday at a free concert that has a bunch of great people all doing acoustic sets. I cannot wait for him to sing this song and I will try to get some good footage.

I honestly thought this song would have stalled in the 20s, as it's just so different from what radio normally plays. But it's out-peaked The Dollar, at least.

I wasn't an instant fan of this song, but it has grown on me tremendously and now I really enjoy it. I agree I am surprised radio is embracing this so much, but it is really nice to see how such a different sounding, more traditional song is being welcomed with open arms.

Just heard this song on the radio on the road and the lyrics stuck in my head till I got home and looked it up. I don't know how I missed it as it's been out awhile. Wonderful song.

Wow, biggest bullet in the top 10! :o I never could have predicted this. I was sure this would stall in the 20's.

i am glad someone finally agrees with me about this song. i cant believe everyone here loves it so much. i also experienced this boredom with Trisha's "This Is Me You're Talking To" that everyone here was in love with.
i do not see how this song is doing so well due to it being so traditional with mainstream country being very contemporary these days. a traditional country song in the top 10 by an almost unheard of artist is just beyond me.
as i have said somewhere, i really like this song when Trace Adkins sings it. he puts emotion in the song and makes me feel like he is actually telling the story.
the one and only reason i hate this song with an enormous passion is his voice. he sounds like a cow dying of lung cancer on this song. it is beyond horrid and i do not see how anyone could listen to it.
