This thread is in conjunction with this: pulsemusic.proboards48.com/index.cgi?board=pop&action=display&thread=58462 ;) Another electronic dance-pop sensation! yey! This time she's fully French but it doesn't matter! Whatever language barrier there is (and there isn't really, if you consider what really counts), is fully compensated by the sheer frolic of her debut. "Pop Up" is an apt title for this album simply because the songs are all fun to dance to and felicitous. The uptempos render impressive dance tunes, most especially the sensational 1st single," A Cause Des Garçons" which will have you singing along despite the obliviousness for the lyrics. There is only one weakness (albeit negligible) in her debut, which are the slow songs. She seems to be unable to transfer the energy of her uptempos to emotion for her slower songs (perhaps I had this impression because lyrics are important for slow songs but I'm not sure). Nevertheless, "Pop Up" does pop up before you, it's pure thrilling fun that never fails to excite and delight. With the proper push and promotion, she will soar. 1st single: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmLjZrH0VlY

I just read a really sad comment on youtube: "Christ, you Europeans are behind the times! This song sounds like something out of 1999, and the song sounds like Tiffany in 1989."
Of course, I replied and informed them that the joke was on them and that maybe in 2013 they would "get it".

Although it is really sad when someone ignorant has the audacity to insult something beyond his short reach. 2nd single video: youtube.com/watch?v=FsrN3qxX2YwLet the fun continue!

The song was not too bad, but I dunno about that dancing hair dryer -- seems like something I should be watching when I'm high to fully enjoy it...

Yelle <3 I've loved her since she put out "Short Dick Cuizi" way back in 2005 So to see her develop artistically and then stylistically by her label and finally take over the world these last 3 years is quite something. How many hipster points does one get?! Whilst over in New York I caught her Knitting Factory show which was obviously amazing and then the following week caught her London gig at the tiny Old Blue Last pub-come-gig-venue. Which was even more raucous than the NYC gig. Evidently one is a big fan xD I wish I could catch her show at the Highline Ballroom. Yelle + HEARTSREVOLUTION = bliss :(

Heh, maybe I will see her at Highline, as well. I'm seeing The Kills two days before.
