Seriously how many albums can sell 10 million+ copies these days?  i think they should revised to say like 8 million for a diamond certification? what says u? |

Starting in 2009, it should be 400,000 gold, 800,000 platinum, 8,000,000 diamond.

Albums go diamond more often than you think, the last one was just last year which is the last album released from 2005 onwards that sold over 10 million? its impossible by today's market |

it should stay at 10million. Diamond should be a rare achievement. It is rare for an artist to sell 8 million in the current sales market. I agree that it should be 400k for gold, 800k for platinum and 8 million for diamond. |

Nickelback and Carrie may not have that kind of stellar catalog sales to see them going to 10 million come on now probably Usher's Confessions and thats it i just can't see anyone selling 9.5 million - 10 million now last year best selling album only 4 million???? |

If Nickelback and Carrie Underwood generate the type of albums & buzz that generates interest in their catalog, the two albums at 7x now would easily pop to 10.
Confessions will go to 10 as soon as the new album comes out.
And this thread wasn't talking about getting 10 million in a year, it was talking about getting 10 million EVER. Which is definitely possible.

given that Nickelback and Carrie manages to do it somehow that will be it
