That pic of her in the pinto.. weird! Looks like they didn't use that scene for the part where "I'll take the chips, and the pinto and hit the road." They really should have because that's the one thing I don't like is that the chapel scene drags on at the end of the video. Oh well.

Well, according to DialIdol (which is 91% accurate) the Carrie-Bo finale was the closest of all the finale's they've tracked (Season 4-Season 7).

Which youtube or other source features the best quality "November Rain/Paradise City" performance in terms of audio quality? Can anyone help?

Since the show's executive producer (who actually sees the vote totals said it wasn't close), I guess it's safe to assume DialIdol's Season 4 vote prediction falls in their 9% failure subset.

Well, according to DialIdol (which is 91% accurate) the Carrie-Bo finale was the closest of all the finale's they've tracked (Season 4-Season 7). Well, I'm sure DialIdol was just flat out wrong. That was several years ago, so perhaps DialIdol wasn't as accurate back then? I believe if it were close, Ryan or someone else would have commented. After all, they did say the voting totals on Seasons 1-3 and Season 7 (Seasons 1 and 7 weren't very close at all while Seasons 2 and 3 were extremely close). They didn't on Season 4, and I'm pretty sure they didn't on Seasons 5 and 6. I trust Nigel's comments more than DialIdol. Which youtube or other source features the best quality "November Rain/Paradise City" performance in terms of audio quality? Can anyone help? I haven't seen them all, but of all the ones I've seen, Jeff's is by far the best in both audio and video. Here's a link (not sure if you've seen it). www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4ooA2GYQhsEdit: Oh, and by the way, what and carriefan0209, the closest finale was the Ruben/Clay finale. They were separated by less than 1% (around 100,000 votes, I believe). Fantasia/Diana were separated by about 2% (around 1 million or a little less). I might be slightly wrong on these numbers, but I'm 99.9% sure the closest finale was Ruben/Clay.

^ exactly-- why would the idol producer lie about it--- no reason to at this point.
Guys-- I have seen the Carrie Nintendo commercial about 6 times now on different stations...ie- fox, the discovery channel, the history channel, etc. :) I hope they play it on CMT and GAC, MTV, VH1, etc. That would be great.
Has anyone seen it on CBS NBC or ABC, etc? thanx.

Ya I think the Exec. producer would know more than anyone else...lol Fischbone is sure "right on" about this. How can DialIdol even know they are 91% right on anything when they never have the actual numbers to compare with their projections? Even though I believed Carrie might win, from the day the Saint Louis audition was televised, at least twice Simon Cowell gave "hints" that she had the votes. The comments after Carrie sang "Alone" and, later, a week after the judges ripped her performance of "If You Don't Know Me By Now" he said that her Fans would vote for Carrie "no matter what." He also made comments to Randy and Paula, after their commentary (on a few occasions), that it didn't make any difference what they said... Carrie's Fans will vote her through. The look of frustration on Paula's face every time Carrie nailed the performance was priceless; still, what told all in the end, for me, was that Nigel Lythgoe did not even attend the Finale in Los Angeles. He went to Muskogee, Oklahoma to be with Carrie's Fans, gave interviews to local TV News Stations and took part in the commentary on the show from the Muskogee Arena. That alone confirmed to me that it was an outright slaughter. Nigel has made some other, quite telling, comments since her win.

Why does anyone care what the vote totals were in Season 4? That is ancient history, let it go.

Does the LN story refer to the Ford Pinto? That car was a total piece of junk and was discontinued in 1980. I certainly don't get the point of using it in the song at all. Any guy driving a Pinto around these days would be laughed off the road.

^^ Because we do and, if we like to discuss it, you don't have to join in. If we wanted to let it go we shall do that when done with our conversation about it.

Ya I think the Exec. producer would know more than anyone else...lol it doesnt really matter either. its nice that nigel mentioned this though and confirmed what i suspected all along, that she had the competition in the bag and the judges 'pimped' bo to make the show more interesting. they want high ratings and that will be hard to achieve if we knew how much more popular carrie was. anywho, it doesnt matter. look at where carrie is now

Not that it matters to me, but I do remember the dial idol guy posting that for season 4, the software was new and it was basically just him trying it out so it was a very small statistical sample and biased by the region he was from (more busy signals for Scott Savol since he was in the Cleveland area).
Anyway it's sweet for Carrie to blog so often. I know for some people it's not enough cuz she's not doing it publicly on myspace to reach millions and whatnot, but it's a pretty nice perk for the fanclub. It's actually amazing that she keeps up to date with the fans considering her level of mega stardom.
ETA: I love her green top in the photos in the link above! She has the best wardrobe.

....I'm a huge Carrie fan but I always thought Bo was going to win that season. Nigel is probably saying this because of the fact that Carrie is so successful and Bo is not. Plus, didn't Nigel only say she won every weeek. That could be true but it doesn't mean that the finale wasn't close. I know it wasn't the closest though, the Ruben-Clay and Fantasia-Diana were closer I think.

^Even if the dialed in votes were close, it doesn't mean the actual outcome was close. I remember Nigel saying a year or two ago that when the phone votes were tallied in season 4, it was usually pretty close, but after the text votes were added, Carrie would win in a landslide every week.

^ Yes, that is what he said. When the producer of AI went to Muskogee during the week before the Finale (and stayed there), it was clear to me who had won.

Carrie just blogged a little bit ago. She talks about going back to- AI...unfortunately, there isn't a mention of if she met George Michael...lol Darn it- I was so hoping for an answer. lol I even asked her that direct question about George in the "ask carrie" section. You would think that if she had met him-- she would have mentioned it-- like she did for Loretta Lynn. I hope he wasn't standoffish to her or didn't agree to meet anyone. Sometimes big stars are whisked in privately---- like Prince was--- since he was a big surprise that one year. If they are given quick exits and secret entrances--- like Brad Pitt had-- Carrie may never get to meet them. Carrie did say she never got to meet Brad Pitt either- at idol gives back-- so maybe they used the "secret VIP passages" that they used for Prince and Brad Pitt, for George michael...and no one got to meet him. I just wish he would say something about her Praying For Time performance, since it was so brilliant. It just seems odd that he wouldn't mention it, or make an effort to at least speak to carrie on the phone, like Pat Benatar and Heart did when they liked carrie's performances on idol. Maybe he was too sick to do anything but perform and leave. I thought he sounded fine actually when he sang- but he said he was sick. (sigh) I am speculating way too much here. lol sorry! I like George michael alot- and since carrie does too- I guess I just wanted them to meet. :)

Grandpa, I was actually at the "watch party" in Muskogee and it wasn't Nigel Lythgoe that was there. It was Simon Lythgoe, who is the son of Nigel. He looks like a younger version of Nigel. Anyway he was (Simon Lythgoe) interviewed and asked by the local Fox (Tulsa) news if the vote was close and he said it wasn't and if he had been they would have announced it.

Thanks for that Logan's Grandma - It's good thing I didn't know that back then, because I would've been a bit anxious while watching that Finale instead of sitting there all relaxed and cocky. Gosh, you are right about his son looking like his twin. I really did believe she was the winner before thinking that Nigel Lythgoe was in Muskogee though. Whew! :o - - - Thanks for the Video Caps Vinman.
