Some Hearts at week 56, 57, 58, Wow, I think those kind of sales are over, even during the holidays.
126,345-------199,114----------292,246
If Last Name crosses over, IMO, her CR sales will double to what Taylor is selling or more, in the mid 30k area or so. If that happens, CR will get it's 3X platinum certification by summer and will eventually end up in the 4X category. jmo

^ I hope so. I think it is time that the label pushes another one of her songs to cross over like BHC--- and doesn't take a passive stance on it. I don't mean for Carrie to ever re-mix or manipulate her songs like others do to get airplay on pop--- but just for the label to push hard to get LN to cross over as is, without remixing.
It could be our only chance for a pop crossover off CR-- unless they release GOOTT as a 5th or 6th single, since it is very rock/pop sounding and could cross over well. I don't see JAD getting pop ariplay-- but maybe AC. :)

I probably should put the week ending dates next to the numbers, the way my primary Master Chart is organized.

CarrieFan0209 Quote from Part 5 Thread - I heard on my radio station that Carrie, Miranda, and Kellie are in talks to tour together...
That was also announced on all the Country Stations in my area on Tuesday.

Some asked about Carrie's Platinum & Gold Certifications while I was away. So, I will bring forward my previous list from the Part 5 Thread on the subject.
Here is a list containing all of Carrie's RIAA Gold & Platinum Certifications to date. I know she has between 10 and 20 RIAA Historical Records, but I do not know all of them. If somebody has a list of those, please post them.
Based on what I read at the RIAA Site, TYPE translates as follows: ST = Standard (Album or Single CDs Sold) DI = Digital (Downloadable Recordings [Single or All Album Tracks] Sold) MT = Mastertone (Master Ringtones Sold)

To my knowledge, the Label has not applied for the Gold Certification on "All-American Girl" - yet, we know the digital download sales numbers are close or have now passed the qualification for Certification. I believe it will be announced soon.

That was also announced on all the Country Stations in my area on Tuesday. That would mean Carrie's planning to play arenas/amphitheaters of 12,000-20,000, I assume? P.S. please come play the Boston Garden if that's the case. Tonight is the first of two in Atlanta, yes? Maybe attendees can report in on whether DVD video cameras are present for Carrie's set. If they are filming a DVD it is smart to do it in one place for two nights if they need extra shots.

A-AG has sold just under 450K downloads. There's no issue of shipments tracking ahead of sales because we're talking digital units. The label isn't going to apply for a gold cert until A-AG has officially crossed 500K in downloads. CarrieFan0209 Quote from Part 5 Thread - I heard on my radio station that Carrie, Miranda, and Kellie are in talks to tour together... That was also announced on all the Country Stations in my area on Tuesday. That would mean Carrie's planning to play arenas/amphitheaters of 12,000-20,000, I assume? I think that would be overly ambitious. The thing about a Carrie/Miranda/Kellie tour is that it will rely very, very heavily on Carrie to sell tickets. Carrie is selling solidly in the 6-8K range right now and that number will increase during the summer. But it is way too soon for her to make the jump to 12-20K venues, especially with Miranda and Kellie as opening acts. I'm a fan of Miranda's, but she doesn't have a great track record as a ticket draw. And Kellie Pickler doesn't have much of a track record, period (yes, I know she has opened for Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts, but I'm talking about as a solo ticket draw). Looking at Carrie's schedule, this is a tour that would probably happen in the fall, which isn't as great a time to sell tickets as the summer (not to say that fall is a bad time for tours, just that it's not as good as the summer). At that point, more of Carrie's singles from CR will have had traction, so that will help move tickets. There's also the possibility of piggybacking somewhat off whatever press the release of Kellie Pickler's sophomore album generates. An all-female bill will create some media buzz, but on the flip side, there will be some who might not be all that interested in seeing 3 young female country acts. As tsharky pointed out in the previous thread, some people prefer a bill that they think will have some variety. True, those who follow their music closely enough will know that Carrie, Miranda and Kellie have different styles from each other. But the question is whether the general public will see it that way? I'm guessing not. The upside of this bill is that it will send a very clear message about three young female country acts supporting each other. That'll be a nice answer to the media/tabloid types who prefer to pit them against each other (especially Miranda against Carrie). It'll be fun if Carrie can work out a song that Miranda and Kellie sing with her during Carrie's set. There's the potential for a nice female empowerment message in this bill, but I wonder if that will wind up skewing the audience demo on this tour too much toward younger women (and if so, are there enough to support this tour in whatever venues it hits?). I'm curious to see the markets through which this tour is routed. The Keith/Carrie tour was obviously a primary market tour. Carrie's Carnival Ride tour has been routed through secondary and tertiary markets. I'm not sure what they will do with a Carrie/Miranda/Kellie tour, but I would guess it would be more secondary and tertiary markets. I don't know, though. It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out. I have mixed feelings about the all-female bill. But on the other hand, if Carrie is ever going to do it, this may be the best time. Her own tour will have had a male opening act for the first half of the year and it does seem to be a priority for Carrie to prove that the women of country music can not only get along, but also support each other. Personally, I would rather see her out with groups like Lady Antebellum and Little Big Town, but that can happen on subsequent tours.

^ITA...I would be all for a female tour but since most of country music fans are female, I would be worried that the tour wouldn't sell well in big markets. I do think Carrie could pull in some good numbers(as she's doing now) but the others, notsomuch. I think Carrie should stick to male openers or groups...*shouts* LADY A!!!!!

The following was posted at the AI Site on Carrie's Ss & HDD Sales Thread by pennylanebarbarella:
Next week the Carrie Underwood AI Stamps come out!! I'm getting as many as I can the profits go to AI gives back how cool is that! I just got my Kelly Stamps and they are beautiful! I wonder what pictures they'll use for Carrie's?
- - -
Also, sharkbait14 posted this about the Stamps on Carrie's CMT Board - dated 04.16.2008
Idol Gives Back.... with Photo Stamps!!!!
Many celebrities teamed up with American Idol this week for the second year of Idol Gives Back, which raises awareness for children living at or below the poverty line within with the U.S. and abroad. There couldn't have been many dry eyes as stars like Bono, Annie Lennox, Forest Whitaker, and Alicia Keys met with orphans in Africa to talk about their daily struggles. Reese Witherspoon, Peyton and Eli Manning, Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus, and the "Idol" judges highlighted some areas within the U.S. that are also severely poverty stricken. Many people in those areas are also not able to get access to healthcare. One easy and fun way to do so would be to buy the limited edition American Idol postage stamps that are now available, as all proceeds go directly to the Idol Gives Back Foundation.
Each week, they'll feature a new American Idol winner. Last week features Kelly Clarkson, this week its Ruben Studdard.
Keep a heads up because these are limited edition, and Carrie's stamp will be up in just two weeks!

Somehow, I missed this while drafting my earlier post. Thanks for finding this, fischbone! It just reinforces for me how much I'd love to hear Carrie sing some more of the CR songs in an acoustic setting. Especially now that she has had time to tour on these songs. There's a nice bluesy whimsy to the instrumentation in Luke Laird's version here and I'd love to hear Carrie singing this arrangement somewhere. Also, here's a nice press release about the upcoming broadcast of Carrie's Opry induction on 10 May. There is to be a Road to the Opry: Carrie Underwood special that airs directly before it. Can't wait! It seems like GAC and the Opry are hyping this induction, which makes sense, as Carrie's name is likely to attract a fair amount of mainstream media attention. Here's the blurb about the Road to the Opry special:Sounds very cool!

Thanks Dudley - beat me to posting that - got an email from GAC last night about this. It really highlights the special nature of this particular induction for all concerned parties.

IMHO, the talk about the all girls tour is just that. carrie did mention about it that itd be fun in an interview. maybe one of the other girls did mention it casually. i guess that can be considered being in talks. i think some media outlets are just running away with the casual comment.
many reports on radio stations are pretty inaccurate. they normally pick up a rag mag and just repeat what they say. there have been numerous reports that have been false.
im not sure how appealing 3 young ladies will be, compared to a bill with an up and coming male act or even a more veteran female act.
plus, im sure miranda knows how much some of her fans hate carrie --- she even uses Carrie to rile them up at her shows. it could lead to some awkward moments with regards to crowd reaction.

All the Radio Stations in my area gave reference to a recent Miranda Lambert Interview and comments she made in the last week during on-air interviews with them. I cannot verify any of that, since I was out of the U.S. on business during the period of time being referenced. The DJ's all remarked on the degree of excitement that Miranda expressed about the possibility of such a Tour. It could be, as you stated above, speculation too. Lots of excited Fans of all three Artists called in with positive remarks about such a Tour.

I agree with you and dudley. I have a bad feeling about it...but if it is a limited tour for maybe 2 months in the fall--- then maybe it wouldn't hurt carrie if it doesn't sell as well. I guess an "experimental, limited tour"-- like kelly clarkson did with reba-- (just 2 months)- would be ok. I just don't want this to be her big tour. I prefer lady antebellum or little big town opening as well. As jeff said-- lots of miranda fans hate carrie....so this could be awkward. On the other hand-- a tour of Carrie with Jewel would be a huge seller as pop fans of jewel would come, and they also know carrie from idol and BHC-- so I think that would be a successful match.

Sorry, just noticed that you already found the article. Jeff - this is the only thing I can find on a Google Search about the above potential Tour issue: www.ok-magazine.com/news/view/5904Do you feel kinship or competition with other young women in the country music world? There’s been some talk of a tour with me and Carrie Underwood and Kellie Pickler because girls just don’t go together a lot; it’s hard for women to draw. I don’t know why, it’s just been that way for years. I really want it to change. It’s great that women are coming out right now that are great, and I think if a few of us could get together and get out there, it would be a big deal. People would love it. - - - Maybe Vinman can help us out. Carrie mentioned this in an interview sometime last Fall, I'm thinking it was with Lon on Country Countdown USA.

I am bringing forward a corrected 2008 Concert Tour List. It is believed to be accurate. Please advise if I have missed anything or did not get the colors accurate on any dates.
This should be called "THE ANGEL's TOUR"
This is an updated Concert, TV & other Event list for the one previously posted. I have not removed the Concerts prior to this date, as it seems nice to let Site Visitors know how busy “Our Girl” keeps herself - for the pleasure of all her Fans.
Looks much like her 2006 Tour Schedule all over again, when she did over 150 Concerts, plus the USO Tour in Iraq.
More dates will probably be added by the end of May. There are over 90 events now.
Simultaneous tours. The dates are intertwined. The schedule is deadly!
All of Carrie’s concert dates that are scheduled so far: Blue = Carrie co-headlining with Keith Red = solo headlining (Carnival Ride Tour) – Josh Turner will open the shows Orange = solo headlining (Carnival Ride Tour – Jason Michael Carroll will open the shows Green = Special Country Music Concert – generally a charity event Purple = Concert dates (Tour unnamed at this point) [Black] = Live Opry or TV Appearance/Performance and Special Concert Events [/li][li] = New Event since the last posting - - - = Month ending/beginning … = Open date

so i wonder what she means by "there's been some talk... because girls just don’t go together a lot". who are the ones involved in the talk? Carrie herself mentioning it in an interview, fans tossing the idea around, or management getting down and ironing out the details? based on this it doesnt seem the idea originated from miranda lol. to her it seems to be an idea thats been brought up because people are talking about girls touring together. As I recall, Carrie brought up the idea in a radio interview around the time of Carnival Ride's release. I think it was an interview with Blair Garner. I tend to think that, if Miranda is bringing it up now, it's because this idea has progressed into planning stages. I just think it's more than a coincidence or random brainstorming that Miranda would be bringing this idea up now six months after Carrie mentioned it -- with this exact combination of acts. And Carrie has mentioned that she thinks it would be fun to do an all-girls tour in other interviews, as well. Not to mention several other comments in which she stands up for women in country music. My guess, and it is purely a guess, is that agents are routing the tour now. Could be wrong. I don't think this would be much more than 2-2 1/2 month tour. I'm guessing October-November (maybe early December) with a break for the CMAs. There are certainly a bunch of markets that Carrie hasn't covered yet, Nashville and Carrie's whole home state of Oklahoma are among most significant among them. Carrie's people have been smart about picking the right configurations so far so I think they could make it work. But I would see it as more of a consolidation of fanbase move than a move that will take Carrie into larger venues. of course, i cant really trust OK to report what miranda said verbatim either lol Heh. There is that. In other news, I was checking Carrie's BMI registry again and found another song that hadn't been listed before. It's called "Perfect World" and it is co-written by Carrie, Steve McEwan and Tom Douglas.

The talk of Miranda, Carrie and Kellie touring together is just hearsay taken off of Miranda's interview. I'm sure after the article and quotes get passed around so much it seems like it is more of a "done deal" than it is. I highly doubt there is anything substantial to those 2 touring together, at least soon.
Carrie's gearing toward being more headliner. I can't imagine the battle of who headlines, Miranda or Carrie if they tour together. At least I know Kellie will be an opener for either one.
As for the other mention, i believe it was a recent CCUSA interview as Grandpa1 mentioned.
Radio stations are making it a bigger rumor than it is.
As fo the Opry, I'm excited for that pre-show "Road to the Opry". That brings back memories of specials for Carrie such as "In the Moment", 24 hours of So Small playing etc. Great times.
We definetly need a sequal to "In The Moment". Listen up CMT! ;)
I'm looking forward to this and can't wait for the induction to cap it off.

If Last Name crosses over, IMO, her CR sales will double to what Taylor is selling or more, in the mid 30k area or so. If that happens, CR will get it's 3X platinum certification by summer and will eventually end up in the 4X category. jmo JP - I forgot to give you the following information earlier. While I was back east, I attended a meeting of a stockholder's group. CR sales were not among the least of the reasons for the change in the leadership at BMG North America, as reported on 4/21/08. Portion of Article on Clive Davis' new position:2008: Named Chief Creative Officer for Sony BMG Music Entertainment, with ex-Zomba Label Group head Barry Weiss taking over as Chairman/CEO BMG N.A. His latest diva, Leona Lewis, debuts at #1 on HITS Album chart. - - - Somebody reported this change of management in the Part 5 Thread earlier this week.
