From Reuters:
New 2-CD and Digital Collection Features 40 Classic Hits & Signature Songs, Including 20 Top 40 Chart Hits
"HOLLYWOOD, Calif., May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Pat Benatar's top hits and signature album cuts have been gathered for a new 2-CD and digital release, Pat Benatar: Ultimate Collection, to be released June 24 by Capitol/EMI.
Among the collection's 40 tracks, totaling more than two hours of music, are 20 Top 40 chart hits, including "Heartbreaker," "Love Is A Battlefield," "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," "Fire And Ice," "Invincible," and "We Belong."
Benatar will tour to more than 40 cities across North America this summer, performing her top hits and fan favorites. The tour begins May 16 at Wildflower! Arts & Music Festival in Richardson, TX and includes stops at Detroit's Rockin' On The Riverfront festival and Milwaukee's Summerfest, in addition to headlining concerts in Chicago, Houston, San Francisco and other cities in the U.S. and Canada.
Pat Benatar first burst into international music circles with her 1979 smash, "Heartbreaker." When MTV began beaming into America's living rooms in 1980, the Buggles' "Video Killed The Radio Star" was the first music video to be broadcast by the network. Benatar's hit cover of the Young Rascals' "You Better Run" was the second. As she sang "We Belong," the decade belonged to Benatar, who took home an unprecedented four consecutive Grammy Awards for Best Female Rock Performance and racked up six consecutive Platinum and three Gold RIAA sales certifications for the nine albums she released between 1979 and 1989, selling tens of millions of albums around the world.
The diversity of Benatar's fanbase today, a global audience encompassing baby boomers and their Gen X and Gen Y descendents, reflects her music's vast and enduring appeal. Her strong yet vulnerable vocal missives, whether hurled or gently swept over her band's solid rock arrangements, sound as fresh and 'now' today as they did when they were first recorded. Pat Benatar has inspired new generations of musicians as varied as her audience, and her music is an essential entry in the American rock canon."

Pat/Neil and company were excellent for their Poconos show on July 4.
Turns out my Pat article made it into the print edition after all- but, chopped down considerably for that version. :) The first couple of graphs remained, and then right into the interview stuff.
The setlist was:
Shadows of the Night All Fired Up Invincible We Live For Love Promises in the Dark We Belong Hell is For Children You Better Run Hit Me With Your Best Shot Love is a Battlefield Everybody Lay Down Let's Stay Together Heartbreaker/Ring of Fire
At the end, they teased the audience for a few minutes, as if they were going to do one more song, with Giraldo messing around and wailing on the guitar, but alas they didn't.

Thought it would be 14 (that she referenced in the interview), but, alas, no. Spyder did a tad of "Jessie's Girl," but I wouldn't really count that. Also played a bit of "The Godfather Theme" during the last number (I didn't really take notice of what it was, though).
Looks like they did three extra songs the following night in New York. :( After "We Live For Love": "One Love," "Go" and "Strawberry Wine."

I would love to go to a show of hers!! I've missed her a few times already in TX and FL for being out of town. One day it would be great to see her as well as Heart. Aaaah... 80s memories!!! I did see the Go-Go's a few months back. Awesome!

The shorter set in the Poconos may have had to do with the big fireworks show that was set to begin at 9:45 p.m. So they had to finish up by around 9:30. if they didn't have an opening act, maybe it would have been a little longer.

I was introduced to her music by a friend of mine about 5 years ago and I am fascinated with her vocals. I was told that she was trained as an opera singer. Love Is A Battlefield is timeless.

Yes- her mother also was a trained opera singer. Pat B., though, had an inkling for pop/rock.
"Heartbreaker," "Hit Me...," "Love is a Battlefield" and "We Belong" continue to garner decent recurrent airplay.

Neil had emergency eye surgery recently, and he and Pat had to cancel all scheduled shows through early next month.
However, it's just been announced that they will be doing an acoustic show in Bethlehem, Pa. (about 45 minutes away) in October. I know they've done acoustic performances of some songs before, but not sure if they've ever done a whole show in that format?

OMG I saw them live last night! They performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as a "new experiment" as Pat called it. They told stories of where the songs came from and went through most of the big hits (except Hit Me With Your Best Shot and Shadows of the Night :'( ).
Pat has taken care of her voice really well and Spyder is an amazing instrumentalist. The encore was "Heartbreaker" and the audience went WILD when they did it, jumping up and rocking along in the fancy theater hall.

She didn't perform either of those songs? Surprised at no "Hit Me...," as it's a staple. I know that they've done some acoustic shows. How did the songs sound with the orchestra?
By the way- it's been a year to this weekend that Pat and Neil played the Poconos. The links are in the third post of this thread. :)

The orchestra worked quite nicely with the pieces. My favorite was probably the trumpets filling in where there are background vocal echos in the chorus of "We Live For Love." It added a grandeur and power to the song in contrast to the more laid-back vibe of the studio version.
Also, "Love is a Battlefield" was pretty epic and between Spyder's electric guitar and the percussionists at the back, "Heartbreaker" barely sounded like there was an orchestra backing them up.

Happy 64th birthday to one of the Queens of Rock & Roll! Patricia Mae Andrzejewski (born January 10, 1953[1]), known professionally by her stage name Pat Benatar, is an American singer, songwriter, and four time Grammy Award winner. She is a soprano. She has had commercial success, particularly in the United States and Canada. During the 1980s, Benatar had two RIAA-certified multi-platinum albums, five RIAA-certified platinum albums, three RIAA-certified gold albums, 17 Billboard chartings, 15 of them being Top 40 singles, including the Top 10 hits "Hit Me with Your Best Shot", "Love Is a Battlefield", "We Belong", and "Invincible".[2] Other popular singles include "Heartbreaker", "Treat Me Right", "Fire and Ice", "Promises in the Dark", "Shadows of the Night", and "All Fired Up". Benatar was one of the most heavily played artists in the early days of MTV. She was the first female artist to play on MTV, performing "You Better Run".[3] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat_Benatar

Neil's birthday was just a few weeks ago, too.
It's been more than 13 years since her last studio album. Hopefully, Go wasn't the last of such.

Is the original mix of 'We Live For Love' that appeared in 'In the Heat of the Night' available anywhere? All of her compilation CDs contain the rock guitar remix. Attachment Deleted

I like that she's been singing the high notes for "We Live For Love" chorus in recent times since the 35th anniversary, I guess?) She obviously can't go as high as she did in her younger days for some of the songs (like 'Promises..."), but she's still got a strong set of pipes on her.

Pat Benatar Supports Women's March With Original Song 'Shine'www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/7662405/pat-benatar-shine-womens-march-trump-protestPat Benatar teams up with producer/songwriter Linda Perry on the new protest song “ Shine”. Created in support of tomorrow's (Jan. 21) Women’s March on Washington, “Shine” is Benatar’s first new song in over a decade. The record also reflects the Shine Together movement, meant to affect positive change in government and the world. “Even though I can’t be at the Women’s March on Washington in person, I wanted to show my support for everyone marching and the importance of standing up for women’s rights,” said Benatar in a press release. “By joining together and lifting each other up, we will show the world that women’s rights must continue to move forward -- we’re not going back." The song is now available on iTunes, Google and Amazon. All proceeds will go to the B.A. Rudolph Foundation, supporting women pursuing careers in public service and government. Take a look at the “Shine” video below.

Nick- Billboard's Allison Hazel must have missed 2015's "One December Night." :) That, or the press release stated that it was her first new song in more than a decade.

I recall Heart's "Never" had a similar situation. When it became a single, the album version was replaced on future pressings with the single/video mix.

Legend!
I fell down a Pat rabbit hole on YT a few weeks ago. I don't know why it never occurred to me that she was a 30 year old running away from home in the Love Is A Battlefield video. The song is so great I never noticed lol.
