There was that mashup of Mariah's "It's Like That" with the Reina instrumental back in '05 by DJ MichaelAngelo. It was ferocious.

^^^ Now if I could get the acapella or instrumental for the Leona, I could try and make a remix out of it. So far, all I have found are the vocals for that Almighty cover version.

Tony's mix is in the key of Bbm. "Bleeding Love" is in the key of Dm. A mashup would never work.

I just managed to sort of filter the album version. Using an intro version I found, I was able to do it. The only parts I couldn't filter were the beginning part before the second half of the first verse and then the bridge and final choruses. Those were beatless anyway. The basic pads are still there but a busy enough production could cover that element up.

It was discussed briefly. It was an interesting use of the Jackie Moore. The original is sooo great. It sounds fresh even now.

There was a version of that "Watchin" track with Deborah's original vocals on it.

I tried out the Leona track. I tried about 10 different instrumentals/dubs with it and only the first one I tried worked. It's funny how the first one you try is the one that works. I ended up using bits and pieces from Deep Influence's mix of "Bringin' On The Heartbreak." Removing the Mariah vocals was a nightmare. I'll finish it up later tonight.

I have been looking too. It might be released later on. I did see the CD promo for sale on eBay, but the seller claimed there was no coverart or a case and that he would send it in paper. It was selling for like $50 when I saw it. I like the song, but not that much.

I am wondering the same thing. Maybe they aren't selling the ones with her on them. Maybe she did backing vocals? ??? Her vocals would be noticeable though.

Almost a couple months now. Masterbeat just got them, so maybe other stores might in the coming weeks.

Some singles are released months/years later for purchase so isn't too late. But it has been a while.

Sorry to bring this up again, but I really wish the key difference wasn't so much. I mixed tony's mix and leona's vocals, then fixed the keys... I had to lower Leona by 4 semitones but the result was amazing! If they were in the same key/only a semitone apart it would be perfect and anthemic. Argh.

You could speed up/slow down the instrumental so it would be in the same key as the acapella, couldn't you? What program do you use?

ACID. Yeah, I tried that first but upping the key 4 semitones would naturally make it go from 130 BPM to 163.8 BPM... then of course with timestretch to get it back down to the 120's/130's made it sound extremely tinny.
