This is not a cover of the Berlin or Surreal songs of the same name. It's not exactly new either. Listen to the album version: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJs4flCtjWIThere are remixes by Tony Moran, DJ Escape and DJ Boris. And there is a promo: Justin Lanning Take My Breath Away CD5 PROMO TS Records 01. Tony Moran Radio Mix 02. Tony Moran Club Mix 03. Tony Moran Instrumental Mix 04. Tony Moran Mix Show 05. DJ Escape Radio Mix 06. DJ Escape Club Mix 07. DJ Escape Instrumental Mix 08. DJ Escape Edit Mix 09. DJ Boris Radio Mix 10. DJ Boris Mix (Credit to PhillipAnthonyJr at DJRicoMixshow for the info) Listen to the Tony Moran remix on Justin's MySpace.
The Tony Moran mix is nice. It's what I expected for this song, but it works well. :)

moran instrumentals should never be wasted.....esp ones that are for obscure songs(i think it's a little hard to use say the instrumental for reina "if i close my eyes" bc that mix was played SO MUCH; actually heard it out this past sun, which was nice, but i doubt this song will be some huge hit...meaning it's easier to accept a mashup of tony's!!!! my vote is of course for the leona lewis, but i would also be down with tamia "me" depending on how this mix sounds since i have yet to hear it There was that mashup of Mariah's "It's Like That" with the Reina instrumental back in '05 by DJ MichaelAngelo. It was ferocious.

^^^ Now if I could get the acapella or instrumental for the Leona, I could try and make a remix out of it. So far, all I have found are the vocals for that Almighty cover version.

Tony's mix is in the key of Bbm. "Bleeding Love" is in the key of Dm. A mashup would never work. anyway, im sure SOME other song that never got good remixes can be salvaged with this! Can you think of some other dubs/instrumentals that could be put to better use? Let me know. I just managed to sort of filter the album version. Using an intro version I found, I was able to do it. The only parts I couldn't filter were the beginning part before the second half of the first verse and then the bridge and final choruses. Those were beatless anyway. The basic pads are still there but a busy enough production could cover that element up.

Let me try those. Both of those are quite good. is that freemasons mix actually something original they did? i mean i know it uses a deb cox cover. i just question EVERYTHING they did since "love on my mind" is COMPLETELY taken from jackie moore "this time, baby"(and the jackie moore is sooooooooooooooooo much better.) all they did was loop the first line of the song and then add a tina turner cover line! i lost all respect for them after learning about that bc i always thought that was such an amazing mix, little did i know it came out in 1979 and wasnt "new" disco at all lol; ignorant of me, yes, but i hopefully get points since i wasnt born til 1980! here's the youtube clip for the real song, if y'all don't know either.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEsS0RNf-csp.s. hopefully this was all discussed when that song came out, but i wasnt around then... It was discussed briefly. It was an interesting use of the Jackie Moore. The original is sooo great. It sounds fresh even now. There was a version of that "Watchin" track with Deborah's original vocals on it.

^^^ Will do. :)
I tried out the Leona track. I tried about 10 different instrumentals/dubs with it and only the first one I tried worked. It's funny how the first one you try is the one that works. I ended up using bits and pieces from Deep Influence's mix of "Bringin' On The Heartbreak." Removing the Mariah vocals was a nightmare. I'll finish it up later tonight.

I did see the CD promo for sale on eBay, but the seller claimed there was no coverart or a case and that he would send it in paper. It was selling for like $50 when I saw it. I like the song, but not that much. The Tony Moran Radio Mix is available for download on Justin's MySpace. It's the 4th track in the music player.

And if someone's going to charge that much, it should come with a case and the coverart. I bet the "promo" he was selling was burned using one of those "scene rips."

Where can I find the Moran instrumental other than Masterbeat? I'd like to use it for a mash.

p.s. this mix sorta reminds me of peter rauhofer' mix of "boy" by book of love I never thought of it until you mentioned it. It did sound a little familiar. I am wondering the same thing. Maybe they aren't selling the ones with her on them. Maybe she did backing vocals? ??? Her vocals would be noticeable though. Where can I find the Moran instrumental other than Masterbeat? I'd like to use it for a mash. The other stores still don't have it yet. :(

Some singles are released months/years later for purchase so isn't too late. But it has been a while.

I mixed tony's mix and leona's vocals, then fixed the keys... I had to lower Leona by 4 semitones but the result was amazing! If they were in the same key/only a semitone apart it would be perfect and anthemic. Argh.

What program do you use?

Yeah, I tried that first but upping the key 4 semitones would naturally make it go from 130 BPM to 163.8 BPM... then of course with timestretch to get it back down to the 120's/130's made it sound extremely tinny. Here's what i mean: www.imeem.com/people/Ii1Mmw/music/h5iw-SND/test_bltny/The first sample is obviously leona being slowed down, the second one is the music being sped up with the leona staying the same. It would be so perfect if they were in the same key! :(
