What happened to the Dierks Bentley/Keith Urban sounding rip-off "Don't Hate Me for Loving You?" Sorry, but that song sounded so familiar to me...

It's alright. He sounds different to me. Should chart. Probably won't do much better than the mid 40s.

I'm really liking this song. Too bad it has no chance of doing anything.

NASHVILLE – August 19, 2008 -- Black River artist Jeff Bates has set the bait for his fan club. Bates, who is now beginning work on a new video for his current single “Riverbank,” put the word out to his website’s street team that he would like to do a video that’s driven by personal photos and footage from his fans. This song just won't seem to die. It came close to charting several times a month or so ago, but it seemed to be falling so I quit tracking it. Then the song got an another wind (I think this is the 3rd wind) and made a big jump this week, and had to be extremely close to charting. He had more than twice the amount of quick cut audience as Toby's album cut. The funny thing is, a station around here began playing this song last week (which is odd, considering it's usually a T30 only station). I think I've heard it 3 times in the past 5 days (after hearing it maybe once or twice in the 4 months since its release). I have to say, it's really growing on me though, so maybe it can pull a "Til I Was A Daddy Too" and make a run.
