I think Trisha has the best country vocal of any female in the world. The only ones who can touch her (vocally) are Carrie and Martina. I totally agree with you! All three of those ladies have voices like angels. There's just something special about Trisha's voice where even songs of hers I don't like I listen to just because of her great voice. She is SO talented and still deserves to have as much sucess as she did years ago. It's a real shame this song is struggling. I think that Carrie and Martina have great voices too, they just spoil it by screaming everything. Yearwood has way more control of her volume, and I really commend her for that Plus, Yearwood is proof that females don't have to be skinny to look good.

Not to get off topic, but I was flipping through my magazine yesterday and came across Trisha's Got Milk ad and she looks phenomenal. Totally stunning!!

She also does seem to have a lot more control of her voice (every note is perfect!) than Carrie and Martina. I'm not trying to put them down though because I think they're super talented as well.

I agree that is what makes Trishas voice slightly better than the other two is that she knows how to use it better! she can belt for sure but she doesn't do any unnecessary screaming. lol. a true talent!

Unfortunately, I think this is completely done now. It's been off the charts for three weeks, and it has now been removed from AllAccess' Cool New Music section. It charted for 7 weeks, peaking at #54.
Since this really underperformed, I would be shocked if anything else was released from the album.

I really thought this song would do better :o but given that it didn't, I think you're right... they probably won't release another single, which is too bad, because there's lots of great stuff on this CD. It's still one of my favorite top 2-3 from the last year.

All of Trisha's grammy noms got me thinking about this fine CD again. Are they really not going to release any more singles? I am highly disappointed in They Call it Falling's chart run or lack thereof, but surely there were more potential singles to be released, given that she had relative success with the first 2. Does one bombed single ensure no more releases?

Probably in this case yes. Unfortunate.

The only thing I could see happening is sending out "Let The Wind Chase You" to capitalize on its nomination, but I think that's pretty unlikely. It would also be unfortuante to release four singles and have none of them be "Nothing Bout Memphis".

I've been told that since the "Country Album of the Year" category was created, each of Trisha's albums have been nominated, so 8 of her 10 studio albums. Is that true?

It's true, but only 7/10 were nominated. The category was first awarded in 1995, so her first three albums were ineligible. It's also interesting to note that, despite all of her nominations, Trisha has never won this category.

That is a very fascinating statistic. I had no idea.

Color me really disappointed; this was my choice as the best country CD of 2007.
Lots of country radio PDs have sadly missed the boat on this masterpiece from one of the format's most respected artists, and arguably tops among the ladies who've hit the format over the past two decades.

radio always sleep on her yet play very similar songs by Carrie Underwood just cos she is young and 'hot'. Its lousey but typical Nashville radio behavior.

^ I don't either. Trisha's songs are generally much better (this is not a bash to Carrie).
I really hope this will be her first best album win, though Jamey Johnson is a rather tough competitor. If she does win, maybe they can hopefully release more singles from this amazing album. I've been pulling for "Nothing 'Bout Memphis" and "Cowboys Are My Weakness" from the beginning, but lately "We Tried" and "Sing You Back To Me" have grown on me a lot. Seriously, this album is probably one of the most consistent releases I've heard for the past several years, in any genre.

Seriously, this album is probably one of the most consistent releases I've heard for the past several years, in any genre. I couldn't agree more. This has become one of my favorite albums of the decade I would say, and my favorite of Trisha's. I've been pulling for "Nothin' Bout Memphis" as a single since day one, so if this album wins at the Grammys I'd love to see Big Machine release that one. Of course, if somehow "Let The Wind Chase You" can pull off a win, then that could work as a single too.

i dont see any similarity between her songs and Carrie Underwood's songs. I'm not sure why, they are very similar. From everything, the songwriting, production, down to the vocals.

This is indeed among the very best country CDs of this decade; the fact that she could return to the recording studio after being away for several years and record a CD as stunning as this is a superb testament to her exceptional ability to choose songs which are just flat-out awesome, and which fit her like the proverbial glove.
Very few folks in the format are as scintillating and compelling as she is, and especially among the ladies.

Sadly, I think even if there is a Grammy win, radio still won't play a new single.
