Just too late for this one. Should've directly followed SOTD up with this. Would have made a world of difference. Nah, then they would've had two straight ballads. What they should've done was release this 3rd instead of 5th and release Shadow 5th.

I think the real pop hit from this album that always gets over looked is "In Pieces." It's a real shame that didn't get released...missed opportunity!

Boo, I wish this would have done more. But, as I said earlier, I think pop would have eaten up "in pieces." (This was two straight slow songs in a row to pop)

It's actually up to #28 on Hot AC - wouldn't count it out over there just yet...and it's #11 at Alternative with 11 weeks on - def. not a flop IMO (esp. if it racks up a lot of weeks on HAC and Alternative)

Well if with that they can go around #50 on Hot Digital Songs...It will chart on Hot 100...I really doubt it will help that much

^Oh yeah hope that helps...Gavin Rossdale seemed to get huge CHR boost from bein featured in whatever movie that was that had trailers on TV all the time - although that one was already Top 10 Hot AC

It flopped pretty bad, but the promotion constantly stayed strong for that tune. I just think this got lost in the huge shuffle of popular artists on the chart right now, not to mention its a very late single from an old album. It would have done fine otherwise.

#69 on Itunes
It may be able to chart in Bubbling and improve the #17 position over there

^It had a decent run on Alternative - just thinkin that's the chart that Linkin Park's gonna watch more than any other - IMO could've done better on CHR...thinkin though that to an average CHR listener it prob. sounded too similar to Shadow Of The Day, IMO the same problem I think Lifehouse is havin with Broken
It's weird though cause there are markets with "Modern" Hot AC's that are rotatin it 50x a week (so it's like...why do people love it in some markets, and refuse to play it in others)

I was so wrong!
It debuted on BB Hot 100 at #99 and it only needed a #72 on Hot Digital Songs. Thanks Twilight!
All the singles from MTM charted on Hot 100 :)
Hot 100 Peaks:
What I've Done #7 Bleed It Out #52 Shadow Of The Day #15 Given Up #99 Leave Out All The Rest #99

^I'll never understand why BIO wasn't top 20, and SOTD like top 5 on the H100. Wonder if this can actually do something after all though...

Don't think it will do better than this...After all it's just #94 on Itunes now and airplay is dropping in every format

IIRC, BIO had poor downloads and mediocre airplay (only rock formats, and that doesn't account for much). And SOTD peaked on different formats at different times. Good longevity, but never all at once.

^Yeah Rock-format-exclusive hits always do pretty mediocre on the Hot 100
(1)Most rock-format stations only rotate their powers 40 or so times per week (2)For some reason, (exclusive) rock-format songs don't seem to get a lot of downloads - thinkin it's cause they appeal to listeners who like listenin to guitar riffs, solos, "jams", etc., and tend to wanna buy the whole CD (but not sure)
A song like Bleed It Out really doesn't have any other format to play it (music and lyrics too intense for CHR, too fast/loud for Modern AC, etc.)

Not that this matters much I guess, but this has gotta be the biggest song that didn't hit the Top 40 CHR in a long time (still has a positive bullet in the 60s, and seems like it's been around forever)

It's a shame this wasn't released later...Like one month before the Twilight release. I have no doubt it would reach top 40 if that happened.

My station had added this song a month or two ago when it first came out, then they stopped playing it after it tanked.
I'm so glad I heard it again for the first time since then yesterday. I hope it's a hit this time around.... at least some what. This is an superbly written song and deserves to be a hit, especially over some of that other crap that's out there.
