I am so lovin' this song and I can't wait to see this become the biggest hit from "Minutes to Midnight".. 158 LINKIN PARK Leave Out All The Re... 18 0 18 0.235I wonder when this goes for adds. Meanwhile, the digital single is to be released on the 15th, if I'm not mistaken. P.S.: This is my first-ever post in this forum site.

Welcome! We usually ask that only songs with confirmed adds dates get posted in the Pop forum; anything else can go in the Non-singles forum. So I'm going to close this for now, but if you discover that the song definitely is going for adds at some point, just PM me and I'll open it back up. :)

Hey guys, This thread caught my eye, and this song has been in the top 45 countdown on Sirius Satellite Radio's Channel 1 (Hit Nation) for the past 3 weeks. However, I just came across another web site that announces this as the next single off Minutes to Midnight: www.contactmusic.com/new/home.nsf....-restx11x06x08. Would love to be able to see the spin count...

There is a LOT of Alternative on the chart right now. Even staple Top 40 Daughtry is having trouble getting adds because of the inbalance on playlists. This could fail just because of that.

I love this song. Best of the "alternative" songs trying to hit pop that I know of right now.

I love this but can't see it being bigger than Shadow Of The Day.

49 spins on pop, but that includes a few stations that mediabase doesn't count in their chart. It's probably not in the top 100.

From the getgo I thought this and Shadow... were going to be the big pop songs. Great choice.

This is so good! It could turn out to be their biggest pop hit this era.

Finally releasing it? This has been "supposed" to be a single since the album came out, and I'm quite the LP fan, but I think it's too late for this. I think they had their shot already for the big pop hit when the 3rd single rolled around, and they chose SOTD over this (which I think was probably the right choice), so I think the time has passed for this to be the big pop hit it could have been. You never know though, and I'm rooting big time for it, but not counting on it.

They've been messing with various Alternative and Rock releases between Shadow of the Day and this single. Linkin Park seems to do well with any release though, at any time. I think this will be the same.

That said, I was hoping they'd release LOAtR for the third single but then they released SotD which is far inferior to this in my opinion.

"Given Up"'s release was quite pointless.

"Given Up"'s release was quite pointless. Not necessarily, it charted well on both rock charts. There was no way you'd expect a song like "Given Up" to chart on pop in this day and age. Which is why I don't really listen to the crap they play on pop radio and instead just root for the handful of alt. songs that have a shot at cracking the top 40.

i actually think they should have released this with Given Up, making Given Up for Rock, and this for Pop. It is quite late now.

Well, it may also be to appeal to LP's different fanbases, which they have done a great job of since Hybrid Theory. The Pop and Alt/Rock releases have always done very well. They never sold out completely on either audience.

imo, the strong songs on this era (Bleed It Out, Given Up) are waay more weaker than the ones on the other era. The only exception is What I've Done. That was the only 'loud' song i liked from the era.

^^ No kidding, I was beginning to wonder if they had just given up (no pun intended) on this single.

I didn't like their first three singles too much. But Given Up and LOAtR are two of my favorites from the album, along with No More Sorrow. I still think Meteora kills this album, and the charts reflect that. Meteora had 5 singles go to #1 and this album's singles have peaked at 1, 2, 2, and 4 in that order. Still impressive, for any artist including LP that's a massive accomplishment. But MtM just wasn't quite up to following Meteora.
