Oh boy, maybe if he performed without his shirt more, he would have more fans!

LMFAO! :o So, Mario is going to shed the goodboy image, and go sexy? I see he's trying to get the chicas all hot and bothered, then pull them in with the records.

Mario gets real
When R&B singer/actor Mario went in the studio to record his next album he had an epiphany -- why break up when things are good ?
"I’ve never broken your heart. I’m pretty much a good man to you. I’m real with you. I’m good to you. I take care of you when you need to be taken care of and when you want to be taken care of, so why would you want to break up and you’ll have to do the same thing with somebody else ?," Mario told Singersroom.
"It’s true in a lot of ways not just for me (but) for a lot of my friends".
So just what is Mario talking about ? ...
The former "Let Me Love You" singer says his next album "And Then There Was Me" is about a new movement and new direction -- starting with the lead single "Break Up".
"It’s written in a very different way than I would usually sing or perform ... It’s written from a male perspective. It’s not your normal “baby please don’t break up with me, I know I did wrong I want to do right now".
Even though the record might sound sappy at first, the cut is actually laced for the club with assistance from Sean Garrett and Gucci Mane.
"I wanted to go to the club and be able to hear my music playing, because you know they don’t play mid tempo or slow records/slow jams in the club unless it’s like the end of the night or whatever. But this is a record that you can play in the club."
Watch out for Mario's new album "And Then There Was Me" coming soon.

His new album "And Then There Was Me" is now scheduled to drop in September 2009 with his first single " Break Up '' ft. Gucci Mane sky rocketing up the r&b and hiphop Urban charts. I have a feeling Mario is not about to dissapoint this time around. My favorites that have leaked from the album are " Lonely Girl's Club" "Oh baby'' and " Weather Girl" all three are single material.

Even though I abhor Break Up and still cannot believe his label ran with it as the lead single, I do hope this album outperforms Go! (which was criminally underrated, under-promoted, and undersold).

Agree Go was very under promoted it's like they gave up on the project the only good thing that came out of that era was "crying out for me" which went top 5 at urban and "music for love'' which had heavy radio play. The reason it was underrated is because you had the Ne-yo and Chris Brown take over that era too Mario just had to many ballads. He did not put out one club banger which was a problem too that era. Like he said in a interview he wanted to release "Break-Up" first this era because he want's to hear his song in the clubs. Break-Up is different from Mario but change is always good it seems to be working to because has taking big leaps since getting on the charts this week it was the most added to urban and is # 27 on R&B charts. I never liked "a millie" or "Diva" when they first came out and I felt the same way about "Break-Up" but urban seem to love bangladesh beats . So Mario has a winner with that single.

I'm surprised radio is embracing "Break Up" so much as well. I wasn't sure radio would even play him, let alone a song that sounding like a steaming trainwreck at first. But then it's usually the songs that sound weird that become huge singles, glad he's getting success with this. Somebody said in another thread that he should be where Neyo is at now and I couldn't agree more.

It could be two or three things why radio is embracing breakup so much Bangladesh(millie, diva) or Gucci Mane the hottest thing smoking right now or is Mario getting a hot buzz himself with the other r&b guys slowing down at the moment we'll see ;). I'm just glad this era is starting off great even though I wasn't to sure about breakup being the first single but it has took off quite well and i'm looking forward to the video and the album.

Break up is doing very well it is now top 20 on the R&B/Hip-Hop charts at #17 and debut in the hot 100 chart at #98. also he's doing good on i tunes #6 on R&B singles. This era has started of well and i hope continues to with his 4th "And Then There Was Me" releasing early fall September as Mario stated on his twitter. This is the first time since he was 15 (just a friend ) that he released a club banger previous two album he's released slow songs to start the album so things are looking up for Mario this time around. Can't for the album i hope he has more club songs on the new album.

On a new myspace interview he stated his next single is called "Stranded" and will drop before the album comes out in September. I have never this song it didn't leak i'm suprised. It sounds like it's going to be a strong ballad from him can't wait!.

They finally set a date September 22nd. And it seems like it shouldn't see any push backs either with "break up' going top ten this week.

I still want him to explain his reasoning for going bald. Unless it's medical, he should be slapped promptly after.

I finally sat down and listened to "Break Up" and it grew on me.
The little sample in the background sounds very similar. Anyone know what it is?

So I read that his next single "Stranded" is suppose to be added to radio in the next couple of weeks i can't wait. I love "break Up" but i'm ready for ballads he's known for. "Weather Girl" is getting extra play on my ipod crazy ballad hope it's on the new album.

It always makes me laugh when artists do the typical "shedding my good image, that wasn't me, THIS is really me".
OK then.

"Break Up" is so much better than I thought it was. But, if Bangladesh is going to continue to get work, he needs to become alot riskier with this beats. He leaves nothing to contemplate that he was the one responsible for this, as well as "Diva" & "A Milli".

Actually he's not shedding his good image he's just not making his typical lovey dovey you did me wrong songs where he's always the one that get's hurt in the relationship like "let me love you", "How could you", and "Crying Out for Me". All those songs he was speaking from a woman's perspective as with "Break Up" it's coming from a male perspective and has a little more edge to it. Change is good he had to evolve as an artist ;).

I guess Bangladesh uses the tap beat as his signature because "Break UP" has a way different beat then Milli & Diva if you listen to the instrumental the only thing that is similar in all beats were the tap sound. But Milli & Diva sound the most a like more then "Break Up". "Break Up" has a weirder sound. It's the tap in his beat sort like how stargate uses the clap sound in their songs all the time. he got a style that people like and is sticking with it I mean "milli" "diva" and "break up" all went top ten why not.

Oh, his beats are crazy, don't get me wrong. But they do sound quite similar. I would agree, that "Break Up" separates it self, somewhat.

Dont see anything wrong with Bangladesh's beats. N.E.R.D/Pharell's beats sound alike and that hasn't posed a problem. Bangladesh has the deep thuds in his productions and it works.

There is nothing wrong with Bangladesh's beats. They are sick! But some of his most recent ones have a similar sound. I didn't say it was a horrible thing. It's just a thing.

^ It grows the more you listen to it. It's a different direction for Mario.
Bangladesh always recycles his beats. In 2004, he had "You Dont Want Drama" and "Vibrate". They go hard though like his current ones.
I always thought "Let Me Love You" and "Crying Out For Me" are "the other man" type ballads. He's been using that theme since "Just A Friend".

Actually you are right those songs were kinda like the " the other man" type ballads. Maybe "how could you" was the only one in a female perspetive. But all of his ballads were very serious songs about love which mostly interest females. With "Break Up" it's more about fun the part with Gucci and partying the bangladesh beat. He even dumbed down his vocals for most of the song.

First time I heard this I thought to myself, this is so obviously produced by Bangladesh. I guess it's good that he has a recognizeabe characteristic to his production, but he can't recycle these same-sounding beats forever. At least with Timbaland, RedOne and even Ryan Tedder, their productions still have a certain characteristic you can recognize from them but they're different enough.
