Debut single, "Last Goodbye" has some remixes by Digital Dog, Spencer & Hill & others. Check out the video for their single. They are quite hot... Meh. they don't do it for me. I thought their original singer, Jamie Tinkler was sort of cute. Jamie was a member of Pete Waterman's failed co-ed group POP! He also participated in Pop Idol 2, where he mouthed off to Simon... or was it Pete? Or was it The X-Factor? Oh, who can keep track? Avenue were originally signed to Global Talent Records, home to another boyband (a good one!), Northern Line. They never released any music though. Avenue they later signed with Island Records, and members came and went. Jamie Tinkler is now in an UK indie band (!) called Baxter. www.myspace.com/baxterukIt's going to be very interesting how all this plays out. The UK record companies believe that the time is now once again for pop music to make a comeback. There are a lot of boybands and girl groups ready to be unleashed onto an unsuspecting UK public. Of all of them, Avenue is the one getting the biggest promotional push. Boybands:Avenue "Last Goodbye": news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7545757.stm Some of their members actually do play instruments and Scott Clarke was in "Harry Potter". Billiam "My Generation": news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7545760.stm They are beyond tragic... not even with all the chart manipulation in the world they'll ever make it. Asbro: Their manager is none other than Nigel Martin-Smith, the Svengali behind Take That. Their debut single will be out in early 2009. Girl groups:The Saturdays "If This Is Love": news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7545712.stm The next Spice Girls? Right now they look like the next Girl Thing! Hope "Hot": news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7545832.stm Hot? More like NOT! Hope were also in The X Factor and have been working with Pharrell Williams. VOMIT! Red Blooded Woman "You Made Your Bed": news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7545756.stm They are signed to indie label Planet Clique. And more await!

I still can't get over what a dumb name "Billiam" is. It's like the male version of "Girlicious"--not in musical style necessarily...just as far as dumb group names go. Haha.
