I don't get why everyone doesn't like this song? Maybe because it doesn't even try to be original? The production is nothing special, though his vocals are above average; overall, it's just a bland song by a singer who deserves better. Someone compared it to "Brass Bed". I don't think he'll come close to touching that. It had that almost haunting minor-key, 6/8 time melody that really made it stand out. The lyrics were simple but effective, and they avoided any clichés.

Plus his album was chalked full of potential hits (Sweet September, Telluride, Let It Fall just to name a few), which makes releasing such a mediocre song even more infuriating to me.

^100% agree. that is the main reason I am so mad. "Sweet September", "Invisible", "Telluride", and "Let Me Fall" all would have been fairly successful. this one, not so much. Any of those 4 i mentioned above i think would have gone top 10. Josh would have his hype back from WWC and then his next single wouldn't take 10 months to climb the chart. I think Josh could have really come back strong if he released 2-3 real strong songs off this album. "Unbelievable" is by no means a strong song that will continue to save his career.
The way I look at it is that Lyric Street has been slowly pulling in the rope to that flotation device Josh has been clinging to for a few years now. And with WWC they stopped pulling for a bit and it actually looked like they were going to try to save him and his career, but by releasing "Unbleivable" they are just yanking that rope out of the water and leaving Josh to drown.

HILARIOUS. But yea, I agree Josh is probably going to let out of his contract after this single flops.

yeah. the only thing i can see to keep him alive. is if this song goes top 30 and then LS decides to release one more single and that one being a pretty decent hit (top 15). but there is just no possible way i see this going top 30.

Songs that come to mind that are not original, and some even rip-offs of previous songs done by the same artist, would be: All Summer Long by Kid Rock Last Name by Carrie Underwood All Jacked Up by Gretchen Wilson Those are 3 that come to mind in a heartbeat - I could probably come up with more if I tried lol This song does remind me alot of Amazed by Lonestar (a song as full of cliches as ever there has been one and yet ... it was a HUGE hit) and with that in mind I hold out hope that it will connect with the radio listeners and do well. I'm just hoping it does well enough to get him another single - maybe Let Me Fall or Invisible or even Found. I agree there are atleast 3 more hits in the making on this cd but I'm not at all upset that they have chosen this song as a single. *hugs* to those who are and will sit patiently (I hope) and wait for the next single. I've had to sit through singles I hate from artists I love before and I know that as painful as it can be, I still have to root for the best for them cuz I love the artists :)

It should be stated that this only has 9 spins for the week. Better than yesterday's 2 though...

I imagine most of his spins now will be in 'battles'. It doesn't officially go for adds until closer to the end of the month.

Woah - now it's up to 30 today, just a couple days later. Either it's in a lot of battles or one station is playing it in pretty good rotation already or it got it's inital spins at quite a few stations. I'm hoping the latter. It only needs about 250 spins to make the top 50 - if it can keep up this pace, it could be there 2 to 3 weeks from now. ;)
Hey, when I dream, I dream big heh
Boy I sure do miss mediabase where you can really see what's going on behind the scenes - so speak.

That sure is good news. Get another top 10, Josh! I'm wondering how slow this one will move. Can't believe how "We Weren't Crazy" creeped and creeped up the charts.

I expected a huge flop from Josh on this one for some reason. It's always good to see artists like Josh get hits back to back. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Woohoo to 5th most added.
And according to quickcut info on mediabase it went from 40 spins and an .181 AI last week to 105 spins and an .307 AI this week. Hopefully it can keep up the progress. I've heard it on a couple of stations already (online streaming).
Oh, and on allaccess, when you log into country, there's an ad for the song and a link to the video I posted above so it seems there IS some promo being put behind the song by LS.

Oh how I miss mediabase. The song appears to be doing well from the 'lacking' sites we have access to. It looks like it's sitting at 229 spins for the current week, closing on an 1M AI's (0.881) and has the HOT logo next to it on the new music section of allaccess. It's got to be closing in on top 50 I would think?

Zac - by chart, you mean hit top 50 (not top 40) correct? If it does hit top 50 this week, I believe it will be the quickest any of the songs from this current cd has made the top 50.
I so want this song to do well - if for no other reason than if it does, I think we'll definitely get another single from Josh from this cd.
It's already up to over 250k plays on his myspace :) In comparison, We Weren't Crazy sits at right about double that after all these months.

well i was just talking about going top 60 on Billboard/R&R on Wednesday.
and i am not a big fan of this song (although it has grown on me since it was announced as a single) but i am hoping this does well for the same reason as you, so we can get another single from him. hopefully Telluride or Let Me Fall :)

Thanks Zac for clarifying - with so many charts and different positions needed to chart on various ones, I wasn't sure which you were referring to :)
Do you have a link you can share with me where I can check the Billboard/R&R? I was a slave to mediabase (and I also love quickcut data) so didn't really check much else out.
I'll take Let Me Fall ... Or Invisible ... or heck, you've been so good during this song you don't care for, I'll even take Telluride and cheer him on - just for you haha ;)

this is the official Billboard/R&R chart that gets updated every Wednesday. this is the Weekly Chart Highlights where we will find out tomorrow if Josh made it or not. just go down to Country and if he is listed as a debut, then he made it. That should come out today, but since its Labor Day it might come out tomorrow. here is Josh's Quick Cut Data, although it has more stations on it than Mediabase charts do so he has more spins/audience than he actually does. hopefully that helps, and hopefully Josh will get on this week. Trisha Yearwood, who is at #51 on Mediabase, has about 0.35 more AI's than Josh according to Quick Cut Data so i think he should be able to get on.

Thanks Zac! I did have the R&R chart at one time, on my old computer, I believe, cuz it looks really familiar. Don't you have when computers crash and you have to rebuild your favorites from scratch grrrrrr
Got em all bookmarked now :)
I've got my fingers crossed for him.

this has got to at least go top 30 for him to get another single, probably top 20. i hope he has some radio support from "We Weren't Crazy" and this one goes that far.

I'm also betting this'll chart, by not anything spectacular. Alan Jackson, Taylor Swift ("Change"), and The Road Hammers will all probably fall off, and he'll wind up with about .4-.55 audience. The only other charters I can find are Sugarland (will definitely make Hot Shot Debut) and Melissa Lawson (a pretty good chance of re-entering).
Going through every song I can think of, Whitney Duncan, Joey & Rory, and Randy Travis are doing OK, and Rehab has the spins, but I don't think any will be a real threat. The only one I could see beating Josh is Darryl Worley.

Don't forget about Jeff Bates. His song has really been gaining spins the past two weeks, although I still like Josh's chances.
