Someone else who was at the M&G said that she talked to Taylor's dad and there's going to be 13 songs on the album (surprise, surprise...haha). And her dad talked about how much better the new album is than her first two. He said there will be 4 songs that'll make you cry and 5 'oh no she didn't' songs (lol). But Taylor's mom also said that she just wrote a new song over the weekend that they were going to record on Monday. So that one might replace one of the songs they already had. But it sounds like the tracklist is pretty much set. They have a release date and a title. So hopefully we'll get to hear something official pretty soon. I just want a studio version of Sparks Fly. I suspect and hope that Sparks Fly will end up being one of the weaker songs on the album which means this new era is going to be really kickass since Sparks Fly is already pretty damn great.

Agreed on all Sparks Fly counts. :( I still can't believe they didn't put it on the Fearless reissue when she knows how bad the fans want it, makes me think/hope it IS on the new album.

I would honestly be shocked if it is. The song's 4 years old. If she didn't feel it was good enough for 'Fearless' than I doubt she'll feel that it's better than a lot of the newer songs she's written.
IMO, I think 'Sparks Fly' is pretty overrated. I mean, it's a good song. But had it made "Fearless" it probably would've been one of my least favorite songs on that album. I think it would've fit better on her debut album. It was written right after it came out. And listening to it, you can tell it was from that era. Because her songwriting's changed over the years.

Swift among diverse honorees at Songwriters Hall By NEKESA MUMBI MOODY, AP Music Writer Nekesa Mumbi Moody, Ap Music Writer – NEW YORK – The iconic ballad "Bridge Over Troubled Water" was so stirring that even a young Paul Simon knew he was onto something special when he composed it 40 years ago. "I thought, 'Hmm. That's better than I usually write,'" Simon recalled. "I was completely surprised that I wrote it — it was completely unlike anything I had ever done before." On Thursday, Simon's magical moment — one of several in his long career — was honored by the Songwriters Hall of Fame in a ceremony that featured Billy Joel, John Mayer, Judy Collins and more while honoring legends including Leonard Cohen as well as wunderkind Taylor Swift. Swift was not among the inductees into the Songwriters Hall. But the 20-year-old Grammy winner was given the Hal David Starlight Award, which pays tribute to young songwriters with promise. Mayer, a Swift friend and collaborator, presented her with her award, saying "she's no accident." "You could put her in a time machine in any era and she would have a hit record," he said, adding this about her incredible success: "Don't confuse everybody loving one thing as hype. Sometimes that's everyone agreeing that it's fabulous." When Cohen was young, he needed a little convincing of that. So the Canadian poet-turned-songwriter presented one of his works to Collins, the singer recalled, and asked her if it was a song. Her response? "It's a song, and I'm recording it tomorrow." At the induction ceremony, she performed a pitch-perfect "Suzanne" and was then followed by k.d. lang's moving version of Cohen's "Hallelujah." A soft-spoken Cohen quoted from his enduring song when he accepted his honor, saying, in part, "I'll stand before the lord of song with nothing on my tongue but hallelujah." He received a standing ovation. It was one of several on the night, which featured powerful performances and touching tributes. The other inductees were Jackie DeShannon, whose hits include Kim Carnes' "Bette Davis Eyes"; reggae great Bob Marley; the late singer-songwriter Laura Nyro; Johnny Mandel, creator of the theme for "M.A.S.H."; David Foster, the Grammy-winning producer and songwriter who's worked with top artists ranging from Michael Jackson to Barbra Streisand; the principal members of the legendary band Earth, Wind & Fire; the late jazz songwriter Jesse Stone; the late Sunny Skylar, whose hits included "Besame Mucho"; and the team of Tom Adair & Matt Dennis, now deceased, who wrote songs such as "Everything Happens to Me." "Bridge Over Troubled Water" was given the Towering Song Award, while Phil Collins, a previous inductee, was honored with the Johnny Mercer Award. Producer Phil Ramone received the Howie Richmond Hitmaker Award, and music publisher Keith Mardak received the Abe Olman Publisher Award. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100618/ap_en_mu/us_songwriters_hall

Sparks Fly is decent; I prefer I'd Lie/Come in with the Rain, but both are too similar to her past album stuff for release.
UKMix user claims that "reports on her first single is that it is amazingly great - it has been filmed for release on ABC September 1st." I hope this is true. In the meantime I guess I'll somewhat anticipate Katy Perry's album which has gotten possibly biased good buzz.

A few days before the 13 hr M&G, Taylor had a super private, invitation-only show where she performed her new single. And it's suppose to air during CMA Fest. Unfortunately, it seems they did a really good job of picking fans that got to go to the private performance since we've gotten zero info about the new single. But I doubt that that will be the first time we hear the song. If the album's out in October, the single will probably be released in late July or August.

Pretty sure the title of the first single is either:
"Bother Me" "Mine" "Mean" "Innocent"
Not all of those songs will necessarily make the album. But according to someone who knows what it is and gave us a little hint, the first single is one of those four.

Not sure if Katy Perry has some insider knowledge(since she and Taylor are supposedly BFFs) but Katy just tweeted this to Taylor : From Katy Perry @taylorswift13 looking for new moves to match your new record? Did Katy get to preview the new single or some cuts on the upcoming album? Is she hinting about the direction of the new single or album? Or she's just being Katy

Looking back "You're Not Sorry" and "Forever & Always" should have been singles over "Fearless" and "Fifteen".

Taylor Swift: Milk Mustache MarvelousTaylor Swift is the latest celeb to sport a milk mustache as a part of the “got milk?” campaign! The 20-year-old singer expressed that she was floored to be chosen to be part of the campaign. Taylor said she’s “always seen the ads in the magazines and thought, ‘if that could be me, I would be so lucky!’” Taylor is no stranger to the campaign. She had her first ad back in October 2008! Taylor Swift filming new video in KennebunkBy Laura Dolce ldolce@seacoastonline.com July 08, 2010 2:21 PM KENNEBUNK, Maine — Taylor Swift was in Kennebunk today, July 8, shooting part of a new music video at Christ Church on Dane Street. The Rev. Janet Leighninger, pastor of Christ Church said they had been contacted a while ago by a company that scouts film locations and happened to check the church out one Sunday. “Then they called about a week ago and said could they possibly film here,” she said. Leighninger said she was told it would be a country artist shooting a music video, but not who the artist was. “We wanted to make sure it was appropriate,” she said. On the morning of the shoot, Leighninger discovered the artist was Swift. Built in 1827, the church features a soaring white steeple and a traditional double-door entry. It was that entry that was the focus of the video shoot. Decorated with white ribbons and flanked by flower-filled urns, it served as the backdrop for a wedding scene. Guests in their “Sunday best,” including three local children chosen to serve as extras, lined the stairs, waiting for the bride and groom to emerge. Swift finally did emerge — from her trailer across the street — before making her way into the church, where a stylist got her into her gown for the shoot. A short while later the director gave the go-ahead and the “guests” began blowing bubbles as the bride and groom came arm in arm down the steps. While the groom was in a traditional black tuxedo, Swift was in a cream strapless gown with a shirred bodice and full, filmy skirt. Her hair was softly curled and pulled to the side, and she carried a bouquet of white flowers. Sue Paul, a church member, said she had met Swift when she ducked into the church to change. “She's breathtakingly beautiful,” she said.
