Man this year sucks. :'(
Isaac Hayes was a musical genius and so many hip-hop and R&B records would have never existed without his work.
It seems like he may have had a heart attack, but details aren't really out yet.

Very bizarre. Isaac Hayes is in the movie Soul Men due out later this year starring Bernie Mac and Samuel L. Jackson. The IMDB synopsis is, "Though it's been some twenty years since they have spoken with one another, two estranged soul-singing legends (Jackson and Mac) agree to participate in a reunion performance at the Apollo Theater to honor their recently deceased band leader." Two people who died just days apart are in a movie that has connections to a theme of death? Creepy.

I am praying for him. This is really sad. It is ironic that he and Bernie Mac both starred in an upcoming film, Soul Men. Let us pray for Samuel L. Jackson.

This is shocking and very sad news. I love Isaac Hayes's voice and his music. Way too young to cash in your chips.
Hope you're up there makin' great rock 'n' soul music with Marvin, Ray, Louis, Luther, Jimmie, and the rest of the great "hell of a band."
