An ad in this week's Mediabase PDF indicates that "I Will" will be the second single from Do You Believe Me Now.

Figured this would be the second single. Good song. Honeslty don't see it doing that well. Top 20. Then again, I didn't think DYBMN would make the top 20.

I haven't heard the whole album yet, but this comes off as a straight up AC song. And I'm one of the few that didn't think that DYBMN was all that un-country. I do like the song though, and if DYBMN can go #1, there's no reason this can't at least crack the T10, even if it doesn't even resemble a country song. It would be very interesting if they decided to push this at AC as well, b/c I could see this doing well over there as well.

Another great song from Jimmy! Hopefully, they won't waste anytime getting this on the radio.

boo, would have went with" I didn't come here to lose" as the follow up to "do you believe me now" its a definite hit........."I will" is just a forgetable song!

GREAT CHOICE!!! "I Will" and "Where You're Going" are my other 2 favorites besides DYBMN. I hope this does really well! this is such a great album! there are so many possible singles on it, they really couldn't go wrong.

I thought the entire album was jumbled up forgettable mess. I liked his debut for the most part. But didn't hear anything I even remotely liked on the new disc. He even managed to screw up the two previous hits.

When I saw you had posted in this thread, I had an idea of what you'd say. And you said it. :) I think this is a VERY good choice for a single. It's not very country, but I'm beginning to think that country radio doesn't care. Actually, they haven't for quite some time, come to think of it. ...... Anyways, I think the lyrics are beautiful. Hopefully that alone will make this a hit. The music is interesting and he has a very good and strong voice. Hopefully it hits at least top 10.

I'll be the first one to call FLOP on this one.

I like this song but I kinda get the hunch he will have so much recurrent airplay with "Do You Believe Me Now?" that this may flop like the follow-up single from James Otto.
Only time will tell.

Oh, yeah. That's the only draw back to having a really big hit. The follow up single has a hard time getting up the charts.

I'll be the first one to call FLOP on this one. Let me be the second one to call it. This song is great, better than the first if you ask me, but it is less country than Taylor's new single, which is barely country (I love the song though), and he doesn't have enough superstar status to get his songs default airplay because they're his songs. Make sense?

There are occasional exceptions, though; "Watching You" was the fastest climbing of Rodney's four #1's.

but that was also due to that being a very slow tempo song in the midst of summer. i bet it would have done better if it were released as the 4th single instead.

Yikes, instrumental overload. I thought DYBMN was overproduced, but this... that's a LOT of sound. Are we sure that Joe West and Dave Pahanish aren't pseudonyms for Phil Spector?

Wow. Finally heard this. This sounds like Restless Heart forced Larry Stewart to drink about six cans of Jolt, then cut a song with lyrics by Steve "I don't have a pair either" Wariner and Aimee "Cliché machine" Mayo and a bridge swiped from a Backstreet Boys song, then had Phil Spector produce it.

I never thought this was a good choice for the second single, and it looks to have peaked at #22 barring a rally. I'm hoping the next single is either "I'll Be That" or "Brighter Days." They both have a kind of Keith Urban feel to me.

I like this song enough, but I think the overproduction takes a lot away from the lyrics and his voice.
I think the next best choice is "I'll Be That". And this needs to happen pretty quickly.

I'd guess Josh Turner is more likely to go recurrent than Jimmy, but a lot can happen between today and Monday.

I just did a RTM and Kerosene Kid was the song. A pop/disco song to me.

This song is still hanging around. I love his entire album but I am ready for a new single.
