from a press release issued back in July.
Singer and pop culture icon India has returned to her musical roots. Many of her Latin fans are not aware that this artist's musical roots is Dance music, as she is known worldwide as the "Princess of Salsa music". India is currently working on her new collection of songs of newly-recorded mixes of her classic hits which will sound fresh and at the same time takes you back into the beginning of her career. The new single "Can't get no sleep" (originally released in 1993 on Cutting Records) now on the Angel Eyes Music Group label is already receiving heavy club play by some of the top DJ's in the world. The Mixes are a fusion of House/Electro House and Old Skool on the Club Mix and Tribal House on the Dub, produced by Mike Mucci and Al Camara of "DAFREEKS". India rocketed to international stardom in the mid-1980's with her fusion of Latin Hip-Hop, Freestyle and Electronic House music, it catapulted underground dance music out of the clubs of Europe to the pinnacles of radio charts around the world, maintaining an unbroken string of hits throughout the '80s and '90s, most of which she co-wrote, before crossing to Salsa & Latin Jazz Music, as she is world known today.
01. Mucci and Camara Da Freek Klub Anthem (10:09)
02. Mucci and Camara Tribal Dub (7:51)
03. Mucci and Camara Da Freek Radio Edit (4:11)
I was a big fan of the original song. It's one of my all time favorites. These new versions do contain some elements of the original Kenlou version. But for the most part, these are really 'modernized.' India's new vocals for these sound great. While I would take the original version over this update any day, the update is worth checking out.
