Imo, this is one of the best "sellout" albums of all time. Even from the cover photo where Ann looks like she's about to pass out from sucking it in and Nancy's all but spreading eagle (not to mention the outfits & hairspray), it's obvious that this album was tailor made for the mid-80s MTV audience. However, instead of focusing on a hit or two, this album is surprisingly consistent for such an effort and therefore is one of their best albums, as well as one of the best albums of its type and era. Yeah, they might not have written the songs, but that doesn't diminish the quality and strength of the songwriting. Ann's vocal performances are among her best & Nancy has a nice turn with These Dreams, even though they are fed other people's words. Personally, I rank Never & What About Love among their best and even album tracks like Nobody Home & What He Don't Know are of surprisingly high craftsmanship. Being unfaithful to your true self rarely sounded this good before or since.

I tried to care about Heart's Capitol output, but I never managed to do it. I mean, as songwriters* they were still talented and all, but it was the sound that instantly threw me off.
Of course, they had to in order to successfully survive during hat era, but... Do not want. LOL.
* A quick check and I discovered that they still wrote their songs, just not the hits, LOL.

This is only one of the greatest albums I have ever heard in my life. EVERY SINGLE TRACK IS PURE AMAZINGNESS. And I happen to think both look gorgeous on the cover! lol
here's how i'd rank each track
1. Never 2. What About Love 3. These Dreams 4. All Eyes 5. The Wolf 6. Shell Shock 7. Nothin' At All 8. If Looks Could Kill 9. Nobody Home 10. What He Don't Know

This is easily their best album from their "sellout" period, but I'll take 70's Heart any day.
