Subject: Shontelle "T-Shirt" [Ray Roc / Josh Harris / Mike Rizzo / Albert Castillo / Klubjumpers / Tonal Mixes]
"T-Shirt" is Shontelle Layne's second US single (after 2007's "Roll"). It's taken from her US debut album "Shontelligence". Just like Rihanna, Shontelle is from Barbados and signed to Syndicated Rhythm Productions (SRP) via Motown Records. SRP is the label run by Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers. Both Carl and Evan were in the pop/R&B sextet R(h)ythm Syndicate (remember "P.A.S.S.I.O.N." and "Hey Donna"?).
The original version of this song is LAMER than LAME. Your usual by-the-numbers R&B/hip hop cr@p. But the song really really shines in remixed form.

Until Rihanna washed up on our shores, the success of singers from Barbados has been spotty. Where are you Rupee? But now, Rebel-One Management (the same folks who back Rihanna) are are hoping to duplicate their success with a new Bajan good girl by the name of Shontelle.
After writing the crossover hit “Roll” for soca singer Alison Hinds, 23-year-old Shontelle Layne signed a solo deal with SRC/Universal. Her forthcoming album, “Shontelligence” is expected to hit shelves this year, led by her cutesy ladies-anthem ”T-Shirt.” This week, one of her inspirational tracks “Battle Cry” appeared on “Yes We Can: Voices Of A Grassroots Movement”, a compilation album for the Democratic National Convention.
