I haven't heard Heidi's version yet, but I'm worried that if a subpar Martina McBride album cut is the best second single she has to offer, she may be in trouble. I hope I'm wrong, because I came to like "Johnny And June" these last few weeks, and I wish Heidi well.

This is a fantastic single choice. I have never heard Martina's version, but have been a huge fan of this song ever since I got Heidi's record.

I agree. I've only listened to the clips of Heidi's album, but this song was definetly one of the good ones. The overproduction that drags the album down isn't as prevelent on this song, plus it's a fairly catchy lyric. I've only heard a clip of Martina's version, but Heidi's twangy voice seems more suited to it to me. I like this much better than Johnny & June. I think it should do pretty well, hopefully T20.

I just heard Martina's version for the first time. It is a strange thing. When Martina sings it, it sounds just like another one of her "I'm singing for a cause" songs. When Heidi sings it, there is more depth and emotion in her voice. I love it.
Martina's Version - D+ Heidi's Version - A-

i felt the same way. i remember hating this song when Martina sang it, so i was not even interested when i saw it was on Heidi's album. then when it was released i listened and its not even close to as bad as i remember it.

Martina is just not impressing me with her last couple albums and I too was not interested in this song when I found out it was on Heidi's album. She revived it though and gave it life.

I hope it does well; the fact that her debut single went top ten in 2008 (the only female to accomplish that feat) was wonderful.

I still don't understand why everyone hates Martina's version. I like Heidi's version ok but I actually prefer Martina's.

I prefer Heidi's version (over Martina's) but boy is this song struggling or what? Hopefully it can pick up steam. I think "When Tears Fall Down" would do well (plus it is my fav track of her CD)
