What are you doing Richie? Stop with the generic schmaltzy crap and beg Lonestar to let you back.

The production is a little over the top, but I don't think is that bad. It's in minor key, so that must account for something.

MusicRow Robert K. Oermann
RICHIE McDONALD/How Do I Just Stop Writer: Tommy Lee James/Richie McDonald; Producer: Tommy Lee James & Richie McDonald; Publisher: Ballad Boy/Still Working for the Man/Loremoma, BMI; Stroudavarious (CDX) (615-415-3017) —We’ve heard this all before—the strings, the piano, the rafter-reaching tenor chorus, the broken-heart lyric, the echo chamber. Everything about this feels secondhand.

Wow. I just realize Richie has something in common with John Rich. Both former members of Lonestar, both with solo singles out now, and their last Top 40 entries were pseudo-duets with a female (for McDonald, it was backing vocals on Mindy McCready's "Maybe He'll Notice Her Now"; for Rich, one freaking line on Gretchen Wilson's "Come to Bed"). The more things change…

According to Lonestar, he left to persue a solo career, but according to Rich's biography he was fired. Anyway, 'Heartbroke Every Day' is a pretty good song where he sings leads.
