It's the first single off her new album Loose. There's gonna be a Timbaland remix for this which features Lil' Wayne.

Is this a H&O cover or no? No. Thank goodness... last thing Nelly needs for her career would be a botched remake of a Pop Classic...

If you live in the Miami area a couple of DJs are supposed to start playin it around the New Year. Its gonna be released around mid-January and the video was supposed to be shot but they delayed till January. The album is due late March/ early April. The remix is supposed to be very street.

Oh boy. That's a shame. I used to think Nelly Furtado was genuine and had originality. Something sadly missing from the pop scene these 50 Cent days. The perfect way to re-launch her career!!

^I agree. That sucks. It seems like the only way to get people's attention these days is to add some random rapper.

Well, it is the remix. It might not even be the pop version. Well, at least I'm fairly confident that if radio here plays the song, they'll be playing the non-remix.

One of the things that made Nelly Furtado so great for me though was that she could remix a creative and original song like "Turn off the light" and add some random rapper to it, and it still sounded fresh and original. I won't think bad of her working with a rapper unless I hear it and it's shit.

She has worked with rappers before or in the rhy format. Its not like this is a sudden change (though...might be a calculated one)

I do want her to have another hit, and it's a good idea to do a remix with a rapper nowadays. I'm not sure if Lil' Wayne is the best choice, but hopefully, her sound could still be uniquely heard.
She has indeed collaborated with homegrown rappers several times for domestic releases in Canada.

Her music usually has rhythmic elements attached to it so it's not anything along the lines of something you'd hear from Sarah McLachlan, Jewel or Sheryl Crow.

This will probably be her last chance at going for a hit again in the U.S, after her last lead single, as quality as it was, was virtually "powerless" on the airwaves.
I will add however that, with Nelly Furtado also recently successfully crossing borders with her sound and scoring a massive Latin hit in recent memory with Juanes, that Nelly may have a very bright future in the international market in that her diverse ethnicity is effectively helping her cross musical borders, even if she is nowhere to be seen again domestically.
Nelly Furtado may very well become a Robbie Williams-esque story from here on out; despite barely touching our charts again, she thrives on nonetheless.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Also, I think this song will be great.

"Powerless" peaked at #30, I don't even think "Try" made N&A, did it even go for adds at Pop? I'm excited to hear this, "Powerless" and "Try" were very underrated singles.
